9/10/2012 ~ 6 WONDERful nights ~ VC to L.A.

What everyone up to?
I'm just waiting for the 27th.. Can't wait to get all our info filled out and times booked! :coffee:
One step closer to our trip...

Do anyone hear the DCA had 45,000 people there on farthers day!!!

I hope it's not to bad when we get there... Anyone else planning on going to Disneyland after the cruise?

What am I up to? Obsessing over recent trip reports, especially the ones for the cruise out of Vancouver!

Working on FE stuff. Packing lists. Budgeting the final payment for our cruise on Monday. We don't get to make Palo/Excursion reservations until the 27th, being first-timers and all.

Watching and reading about the insanity at DL this weekend. DH was checking an app on his phone with wait times.

Thank goodness September is the slowest time of the year. It won't be nearly as crazy as it was yesterday.

And I think I have pretty much memorized the passporter book.

I've been working on my FE gifts (lots to do!!!! :yay:), did our online check-in and got a palo brunch for the second sea day, I'm sad that they got rid of the afternoon tea :sad1:

My bf and I are meeting two friends in DL for three days after the cruise really looking forward to it! We were going to rent DVC points for the GCH but I was too late in trying to book and they were all gone so I'm hoping for a public discount for the rooms to come out otherwise we will probably stay at Paridise Pier. I haven't been to DL since the year DCA opened so it's been a while.

I need to book our Alcatraz tour and the gocars in San Fran too... the way the weather has been here I think the only summer I'll get will be this trip :confused3

What are we up to?

DW and I are getting ready to leave on our anniversary cruise this Saturday. We haven't even started packing yet, so we're running a bit behind :hourglass ... time is running out! We haven't booked anything in San Fran yet, but might do that this evening. I did get final approval for my vacation request in September, not that it was in doubt ... just nice to see it go through.

Generally we are being kept very busy with end of school year activities. Two extended family members graduated from college this year so we have been celebrating. Last kid in HS will be finishing up Junior Year today.

Visited CarsLand on AP preview day 6/10 and then again on 6/15 opening evening. Amazing place. We also purchased a few "opening day" items.

We expect to be visiting DCA quite a bit this summer and are looking forward to our Disney Wonder trip to cap it all off.

We got the Palo brunch on 2nd sea day as well (Sept 12th) so we'll see you there. Just my wife & I though while the kids enjoy other activities on the ship.

We are looking to spend a few after the cruise at DL, not looking to hire a car

Whats the best way to get to DL & whats the cost

Thanks

David & Jane

You can take Disney transport if you are going to stay in a Disneyland Hotel. If you are looking to stay at any other hotel, you can get a van service or a limo. Most of the off site hotels that are not with in walking distance offer either shuttles or you can take the public trolley that stops at many of them. If you do to the Disneyland boards, you should find a lot of information as to the opetions for hotels close to and inside of DL.

Prime shuttle (red vans) will be at the pier waiting and willing to take folks to DL. You save maybe 5% if you book online ahead of time. Super Shuttle (blue vans) are also an option, generally Super is higher priced than Prime and I've had much friendlier and more courteous service from Prime.

We are not staying at a Disneyland hotel, however we are using the transport.
AAA agent booked it, that way since our hotel is only a block from DL.:confused3
My mom plans to hop a cab with all the bags and baby and go to the hotel.
why we take the older kids straight to DL
I'm getting the feeling this may not be a good idea ?

Since you are wanting to get directly to the park, I think you have a great idea. THe closest DL hotel is the Grand Californian, there is an entry directly into DCA from there or you can exit into DTD. If you already have tickets, I think going into DCA is a great idea! Having the bags with your mom in a cab solves all the problems of what to do with the bags. DCL won't care if they are with you on the bus or not. AN since you are paying for the ride, it's all good!

Remember if you want to Book a palo reservations and spa Reservations you can log on tonight at midnight EST if you have paid for your cruise in full. :cool1:

I'm getting so nervous..... :confused3
I don't need palo or spa ressies... I just don't wait to mess up any info when I fill it in..
My husband is starting to refer to me as " stressy the lost dwarf" :rolleyes1

Do I need to be up at midnight if I'm not going to book palo or the spa?

(little vent)
It has been a week for me...

I had to get the limited edition Merida doll for my daughters ( up at 3 am for that one) then off to the store at 7am to get a 2nd one ( 2 girls 2 dolls)

Then they announce the limited edtion villain dolls
1st I was :woohoo: then :scared1: after the last fiasco

Took my daughters and my 4 neices to see brave
1 st bargain Tuesday since it was out... Boy it was busy... But sooo worth it

Now I hope I can go to bed soon, but I'm so stressed about our trip I can't sleep...

( vent over)
By the time I get on the boat I may just curl up in ball and thank god I don't have to worry about every little detail ...

Welcome! As others have said, it's not too late!

We're super excited, too. Ridiculously so!:banana::banana:

I like putting the banana smileys in there because my husband says when he gets the summary it just says "banana" on it.

:welcome: I've added you onto the FE list on page six :goodvibes :thumbsup2

I'm super excited about the cruise too! Can't get here soon enough, although I do need enough time to finish all my FE stuff... half way through most of it

Thank you! When my DH got home from work yesterday I had to fill him in on this forum and the FB page, and all about FEs of course and he just laughed and said, "You mean there are MORE people like you out there?" :rotfl2: I have been up all night planning our FE gifts! :woohoo:

Was able to book a brunch for us at Palo this AM, and registered the kiddos for the Oceaneer's Club - but not really sure how that works. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Is it just a "drop in" - or do they have specific activities we have to sign the kids up for? We really just want to make sure they are occupied while we enjoy our brunch! :cool1:

So much information on here - this question might have been answered already, but it's taking me a while to get through all the pages! Can't tell you how happy I am to find people to share my excitement with!

I'd also like to know how this works.... I registered my both my kids, although we are keeping our 10 mo. With us... There is no way she will go into the nursery..
However my DD(6) can't wait to drop me like a hot potato for the oceaneers club!
Did I miss something or do you have sign up for the oceaneers club?

I have taken a screen shot of the page you are looking for to register your kids in oceaneer's club
on the "MY Cruise Activities" Tab
At the bottom of the screen you will see Child Registration Click on that link and fill out your kids info and you are set.

I did the on-line registration today, and I read on the DCL information page that, "Upon boarding the ship on Embarkation Day, both children and parents must check in at the front desk at Disney's Oceaneer Club, on Deck 5, Midship. During this confirmation process, parents will fill out final paperwork and children will receive a wristband indicating that they are part of Disney's Oceaneer Club." But then what? I saw that there are various activities like book making with Bartleby and Tinkerbell's Talent Show.....and somewhere (maybe the planning DVD) there was cooking with Ratatouille? I'm just wondering if it is set up like a drop in or do we have to make reservations for certain activities and/or times that we might like to be child free?? Has anyone used the Oceaneer's Club before?

All those activities in the clubs are drop in. Times, days and locations will be in the Navigator that you will get each evening for the next day. Just look at what is happening and what time and off they go. Many people say their kids go to the clubs in the morning ad don't want to leave! Not all activities are offered on all the ships, rather than getting the kids up for something like Cooking with the French Rat, have a look at the 7 night Navigators for Alaska and the Mexican Riviera and they will give you a better idea of what may be offered.
