This is great! What a hoot. I'll be there for sure.
You can take puppies at 6 weeks but the foster parents want to keep the puppies with mom for 2 more weeks. We can wait, well Cherie and I can, the girls are bouncing off the wall.
Not a good idea at 6-weeks. At 6-weeks they are still imprinting on their litter - that is learning what "dog" is. Pups who have been taken from the litter at 6-weeks never really get how to interact with other dogs. Between 7- and 8-weeks is ideal as that is when they imprint on humans.
Now, is a great time to write, sign, and post the family "contract" about the puppy. That is, what are the "dog rules"? On the furniture, or off? On the bed or off? In the dining room during dinner, or crated? Rough housing in the house, or not? Where does it sleep? Who cares for it? etc. These are all things I strongly encourage my puppy buyers to discuss, WRITE DOWN (and sign), and post on the fridge. That way, when the rules start to be bent or broken (and they will) - you can remind youreselves of what you agreed to.
you know Jack , He loves the Wenches ....LOL
Maybe we need to make some secret shirts that say "I know Jack " (for the wenches)...LOL
Alright then Capt'n. I'll be needin' artwork for that.
Terri that would be great. When we get a premium account you can upload images up to 5mb which is pretty big. Anyone can then right click and save an image to your own computer for printing. I think your idea of a CD sounds great too. I am sure with all of the artistic people that we have around here there will be several TOAL Documentary CD's.
What? No TOAL, The Documentary DVDs???
This sounds like great idea. What about incorporating the cost into the t-shirt price. An extra $0.25 per shirt won't hurt anyone and we'll all benefit in the end with great photos.
Easy to add an item to the store front for this, and get the $$, and a list of buyers, to you. That way, the only folks signing up for the site are the ones who want it. Let me know.
There are several online sources for the wristbands. The pricing seems to run from about $0.65 each for plain ones to around $1.00 or a little over for text engraved into them (plus shipping of course). A couple of the websites are
http://www.reminderband.com/products/index.php and
http://www.shanrene.com/custom-wristbands.php but there are many more out there. Shipping them to everyone - even just sending them via the mail in an envelope - would probably cost a couple dollars each, a 6x9 envelope costs about 10 cents each.
I guess one concern is that we already are doing the t-****s and ordering/paying/shipping/etc. Is doing another thing of this nature just too much? It would probably work OK if it were done along with the t-**** but that is already a huge job and this shouldn't be added to it.
Like the photobucket thing - we could easily add this in to the storefront as an item. If you order them, and have them shipped for deliver to me by Jun 30, I'm happy to toss them into the correct boxes. It'd be easy. Especially with all the crew mates who are going to come out an help!
Let me know if you want to do it this way.
One thing to think about -
do they have child sizes? When I ordered these for the boys (with our cell phone numbers on them) I made sure to get child sizes. The adult size ones simply fall off their little wrists.
Here is just a thought.....we could each send a self addressed stamped envelope (I'm thinking a manila envelope folded up inside of a letter-size envelope) along with our payment for these bracelets to whoever is heading this Task Force. That way he or she only has to pop the bracelets back into the envelope and mail them back.
Or we could do this.
