Actually..I do have a serious question..if we signed up for tastings and then the date of the tasting doesn't work with our schedule? Are we able to back out or are we already going to be charged duue to signing up?

You're not tied to it. The signing up was really to give DCL an idea of how many were interested.

:thumbsup2

Just remember the mute button, so they don't hear the keyboard ;)

Or me laughing at some of these posts:laughing: I think I mentioned this before, but on one of these conference calls a few years back, one of the "participants" fell asleep and was snoring into the phone, manager was not happy.

M... Ohio State U. football may have the tradition, the budget of a small country, 100,000+ game day crazy fans, corn hole, 20 returning starters from back-to-back national championship games and "the vest", but OU football has something OSU doesn't have, well, two things if you count the band, but the other thing being, luck. Odds of 3.9 million to 1, sounds about right for us winning Sept 6th.

Ohio University football player scores big lottery win
By Sarah Pulliam

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

When most students are starting to think about paying off student loans, Ohio University senior Michael Eynon is considering what to do with a quarter-million-dollar lottery prize.

The Ohio University offensive lineman won $250,000 in the Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday night.

Yesterday, he went to the gas station where he bought the ticket, confirmed that he won and turned in the winning slip to the Athens office of the Ohio Lottery Commission.

Then he went to football practice, just like he had planned to do all along.

"It hasn't settled in yet," said the senior from Westlake, who is an accounting major. "I've been out throwing footballs, and it's still the same routine."

Eynon, 22, will take home $172,500 after federal and state taxes. He plans to donate some money to his church in Avon, give some to his family and invest the rest.

The odds of matching the five-number tickets, excluding the Mega Ball, are one in 3,904,701. Eynon won the second-tier ticket, meaning he needed to match one more number to win the big jackpot, which was worth $34 million in Tuesday's multistate drawing.

"Everyone was like, 'Dude, you were one number off,' " Eynon said. "I was like, 'I'm satisfied.' This is awesome either way."

Jason Corriher, a spokesman for the OU athletic department, said the winnings will not affect Eynon's standing in the NCAA.

"I've been in this business for about 10 years and I cannot remember ever hearing about a student-athlete winning a portion of the lottery," Corriher said. "It's pretty unheard of, I think."

Eynon purchased the winning lottery ticket Tuesday from a Shop Mart in Athens and said he buys tickets occasionally.

Ohio Lottery spokeswoman Sandra Neal said that it was the first time she has heard of a college student winning the lottery.

"It's pretty rare," she said. "I can say it hasn't happened in a while at least."

hi everyone.

sorry to be a downer...jsut needed to get it out there...cuz i'm kinda loosin it here. please pray that it all works out. thanks.

Prayers, pixie dust, and whatever else you need headed your way!!

I'm so very sorry to hear of this Shannon....

... and I guess it's OK to say I've just shared a reflective moment with my spouse while appraising her of my visit with our friends - who have the spouse with the renal cancer. The mom was active and seemed mostly as usual - aside from her mentioning she had another round of the gamma knife to deal with growths in her head. Which I already knew about - and understood to be pretty bad since this continued to show she was not getting any control from any of the medications or procedures exercised. Even at $8000 a month for one of her medications - it seemed as if there was NO control with her cancer.

Well... I sort of thought her attitude was pretty good... but what brought about the moment of reflection shared with Alicia was our friends husband. He was uncharactisticlly near silent during my visit - and sort of distant. We both knew what seems to be going on - well - it's just bad.

At any rate - this has had me somber - plus our daughters' best friend from pre-school - well we had a play date scheduled the other day - and they missed it. No explanation until yesterday when an email came apolagizing. It seems thier young neighbor (the husband) abruptly passed away. He had a previously unknown risk of some sort and he had an anurism (misspelled?) - he litterially just collapsed and was gone.

The email was long - and sensitive from our friends - and it just compounds the reality that our existances are remarkably fragile and precious.

I hope this does not sour your situation... as I have not taken the usual moment of reflection to measure if what I've said is diplomatic or not. It's just what I'm thinking at this hour given your remarks shared.

Again, may I offer our kindest symapthetic consideration in this sad moment for your family.

Respectfully,

Tom & family

......

...and what am I doing up - I couldn't sleep because I guess I was a bit hungry so I heated a little left over chicken curry and rice ... while I watch the discovery HD channel ... a show about the100 greatest discoveries in chemistry.

Crash I am so sorry. Life is so precious every day.
The day before our cruise leaves is the one year anniversary of my DD's friend dying from cancer in 10 months. I am kind of reflective lately and just want to really slow down and appreciate everything I do have. Everyone, please take care and remind your family and friends how much you love and appreciate them.:)

You know, that's not a bad idea! My kids do that with their field day t-****s every year at school to get their friends' autographs. That could be a fun Canal Day activity and make for a great souvenir.

:thumbsup2 It's DIS Lime for Canal Day....right :confused3 ;)

No hope of keeping up or catching up.

Anything important in run up to pirate:?

Nope...not really..just some late night silliness!

Good morning all! Just a quick post before we head off to Dream Dinners.

As for the cheap digital underwater camera..we played with it last night for a bit...the pictures aren't to bad...depends what res. you put it on. Hmmm...$250,000. That's a nice chunk of change. And coincidentally, OSU's helmet sticker budget for the season.

Late nights are the only time it's quiet around here...It will help with the time differnece, but DDs are a little concerned how they will be able to get up for school when we get back.:rolleyes1

We have to be back to work the next day too! :guilty:
