Happy 25th Anniversary Linda & Ron
25thhappyanniversary.jpg

Wow....25years! Congrats & Happy Anniversary!!!

Thanks for the anniversary wishes! We are actually going to celebrate on the cruise. Right now I am down in MD as my youngest son is swimming in a meet until Friday.

Hey everyone, I am slowly checking things off my to do list. Today my to do list included calling Verizon for our cell phones and calling Chase and Citibank for our credit cards.

I know someone has listed Verizon rates already but you MUST call verizon to have them turn on the free international roaming service on your account. You must then activate it on your phone before you leave. Its easy and takes all of about a minute to get it done

Also, called the credit card companies today as well. Just FYI - both Chase & Citibank have a 3% international charge fees for any purchases made outside the United States. DH and I are talking about just bring travelers checks to avoid that cost. Anyways, thought I would pass along the info for my fellow pirate:

Have a great afternoon!!

They man I spoke with yesterday said all I had to do was dial *228 on the phone, pick option 2 and we would be set.

Desiree - I may have been there the day Walt Wiley ran down your DH. We saw him several times in the park a day or two after one of the soap weekends.

It was right after one so that may have been it....

I forgot my "big" brush with celebrity-dom...when I worked at Knott's Scary Farm..I was asked to escort a celeb thru the exit and on to the ride...I met his family as the gate and had no idea who it was...as I went back on stage to scare people..a fellow creature stopped me and said "I can't believe you just met Alice Cooper!" I knew Alice Cooper was..but since he wasn't in make-up..I didn't recognize him.

Let's see..I kinda saw Eddie Murphy when he filmed Beverly Hills Cop at my Dad's work (he wouldn't sign autographs)..and I had already posted about my meeting with Donny Osmond at a concert.

And my favorite..when I was a teenager..my Dad used to take me to Dodger games...we arrived really early once and as my Dad went off to get us some food..I sat in my seat. There was a guy next to me in a Dodger jacket and sat there and talked to me about baseball and such... finally..he got up and said "well..it's time to get warmed up"...walked down a few rows..jumped up on the top of the dugout and jumped down..I had been sitting with Mike Scioscia. He was the catcher for the Dodgers and is now the Manager for the Angels. I just remember him being really nice and just taking in the field before the game.

Thanks for the reminder.. I done that from my phone but have to set up the rest of the family.

I changed the cover on my bed. I bought this on ebay when in Chicago, got it cleaned and has been put away ever since. Now I am getting excited. :woohoo: :woohoo:

I've already called Verizon about the international roaming, but there's also something I have to do to the phone?

I shopped with Vincent D'Onfrio (L&I CI) a couple of weeks ago - he lives pretty close to me. It was funny, I was coming out of the dairy aisle heading towards the deli section and there was this man staring at me - he looked familiar but I couldn't place him. I went about my business in that area and kept glancing over to see if I could figure out who he was (I actually thought he might be somebody that my DH works with) and every time I looked that way he was staring at me. Then I finally figured it out, duh! It was kind of cute, he was pushing the shopping cart while his wife did the shopping.

I have a friend who used to be a producer for Law & Order CI and some of the stories she used to tell about Vincent D'Onofrio and his temper were outrageous.

I met Jesse Martin and Jerry Orbach when they were filming Law & Order about a block away from where I work. I also met George Clooney when he was filming One Fine Day. He was just so, so nice and damn but he was just as good looking in person. Michelle Pfeiffer was there too but she was sitting off in a corner and refused to talk to anyone. I also saw JFK Jr. a few times on the street. My favorite celeb encounter was when I was a teenager and I ran into Barry Williams and got his autograph. Ahhhh, Greg Brady. My girlfriend and I were just swooning, lol.

Yes, dial *228 and select option 2. It will make sure that your phones software is updated.

Congrats Shannon and the family on your addition! Hope you are feeling wonderful by cruise time.

Happy Birthday Cheryl!

I heard on the news today that Delta is now going to start charging $50 bucks for a 2nd checked bag....that is so messed up!

Of course, we are flying Delta home from MCO! Just more stress trying to figure out all the packing for a family of 6! I still have not received any "grandfathering" letter from Delta or our TA who booked our flight, so I have no idea what or if we will have to pay. Just ticks me off, all these additional fee's!

Thanx for the link..mine will work in all of the countries..when DH gets home..will have to see if we already have international or not.

I'm going to look into the AT&T international data plan, and/or calling plans. It may be more cost effective to have a special plan for one month than to rely on their default costs.

Laura.....any advice here?

Andy

We had the same experience...had hail damage and got a whole new better roof. Oh, and our insurance is $339 per year. $500 deductible. I am well aware of how cheap our insurance is here in the Midwest and Wisconsin especially...But, don't even start on property taxes. We pay $6500 per year. :scared1: :scared1: It probably all balances out in the end!

Wow...your insurance is cheap! We're in Houston and ours just renewed last week...$3150 for the year plus another $348 for the optional flood insurance (which we aren't required to have but do anyway.) We also paid almost $6800 last year in property taxes! :scared1:

ITA! I felt like I always took a suitcase with me even when we were just going to the grocery store. I can't imageine packing for a baby for this long! Very impressive!

:lmao: I usually just take my purse to the grocery store (with a diaper and a few wipes and a book and maybe a toy and snacks). The hard part of this is that there will be a lack of abilitly to buy stuff like diapers!

We are also doing the "baby packing" here, although I don't have to pack food for him. Diapers, swim diapers, wipes, etc. Hadn't even thought about bringing toys! We are bringing a stroller, full size carseat for DS and booster seat for DD3. Of course, the older kids will have their stuff too...books, DSs, portable DVD player. We'll probably also have 5-6 cameras between us and the laptop. I am really scared about all our stuff! :scared1:

Funny story...you know what they say about the 4th child. I used to pack all the gear when my oldest was a baby for shopping trips, etc. Now I don't even bother. I leave a diaper bag in the van with diapers, wipes, etc. but I hardly ever bring it inside anywhere. We even went to the circus (about 2.5 hours) last weekend and we didn't even bring diapers inside with us! Thankfully we didn't need them!
