I had to cancel my DCL transfers from the port to MCO and I'm now looking to rent a car.
Anybody have a recommendation of where to try ?
We paid about $35 for a one way rental in 2006 and now it looks to be almost double that.
What is considered a good car rental rate for going from the port to MCO :confused3

I have an Intermediate booked with Avis for $44 total. Kristina got an SUV (not sure with who) for $30, but I don't think the discount she used is good anymore.

Keep checking, rental car rates always go down as you get closer to the date.

We're with Budget (BCD Code: W810011). We're on the high end of cost (about $90), but we really need a minivan for the 5 of us and our luggage.

Thanks Christopher, I wasn't sure what the going rate was any more. Actually haven't rented a car since 2006.

Not sure about Steakhouse with by 2 DDs... what's it like there...

You think I should swap the 2nd Goofy's for a Storytellers Dinner?

I am all ears...

I haven't been there since they switched over so I don't know if the atmosphere has changed. But it was fine for kids before, it was not stuffy and pretentious like some steakhouses can get.

I just didn't like Goofy's at dinner well enough to do it twice in one trip.

I'll try waiting to see if they go down or not.

I have a Jeep Liberty from Thrify from the port to MCO for $50.

I understand Thrifty has a shuttle from the port to their in town location...

On work computer use. My company is wayyy too lenient. They have never said anything to me and have "seen" me on the computer a lot. The attitude has basically been, get your job done and we will avert our eyes "at the proper moment" (ok, who knows the movie the line is from? :) )
But who knows when my luck will end. There is a big re-alignment going on where all the top bosses have been let go and new ones are coming in. I have been through this a few times and you just kinda have to wait and see what you get when the dust settles.

I saw someone already told you. But I emailed and got a replacement strap for a Disney croc, even had the Disney stamp like the original broken one. And found a link on the Crocs website for replacement snaps. I didn't count them, it just looks like someone grabbed and handfull and threw them in the bag.

Thanks, I'll try it!

Roger, the link's not working for me....is anyone else having luck with it?

It's working for me! :confused3

Nonono I answered the question... At least I'm pretty sure I did :) I still don't believe we're at the same hotel! I just checked and the "Los Angeles Airport Mariott" is still $99... Are you staying at a Courtyard, by chance? Hmmmm...

Anyhoo we'll be there by about 9:30am. I'm up for saying hi since we do have the whole day to waste away!

Thanks Terri!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: :yay: :dance3: I booked my room last August when it just reopened for remodeling!!! I thought I was getting a good rate since DCL wanted $189 a night. I looked on some internet site this morning and saw $199. I then linked on the Marriott site and saw the senior rate was the same but when I looked for regular rate and I saw the non-refundable $99 rate. I booked the non-refundablerate. I just called to cancel my old reservation. You saved me over $20 dollars. Who would think something actyally went down in price a year later.:rolleyes1

If you pm. me we can exchange cell number.:thumbsup2 We will be arriving at 10:30 am. ::yes::

It has been since before Xmas time that I regularly lurked / posted on the DIS. I have been keeing up by joining many of the chats.

I was sort of abstaining from DIS until I got my air to LAX settled... and will oil rising all winter... and my never pulling the trigger...it was looking like $300pp for the 4 of us.... It got to the point where my brother who works for UAL was going to try and get a friends and family thing to fly standby.

But today Virgin Atlantic had a sale $149pp. And I am all booked and ready to go!

SO I AM OFFICALLY BACK ON THE BOARDS!

Glad you are official now Sil!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

You know Cheryl, everyone is talking to you a long time and everyone loves teasing you. I think I am really going to enjoy getting to know you on the cruise. :thumbsup2

You know that is one thing about this thread. At first I started posting before I realized a lot of y'all knew each other from other cruises but I still do not feel "left out". I am so glad we are going on a TOAL w/ so many fun and caring people!

We are very fortunate to have such a great bunch of PEEPS!!!

I was busy finding out what time I'm meeting Cheryl Sunday. Three hours and two phone batteries later, I have the answer :lmao: :lmao: You know we love you Cheryl

When we see each other......we will have nothing to talk about!!! :lmao: :lmao: BTW..........I got burnt because I was outside the whole time in the sun!!! I have one really tan side.....you need to call tomorrow so I can tan the other side.:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

DH was on the fence about the tux or a suit. I think he is going with renting the tux so I probably need to find out more from them.

I can't wait to see Rich in a Tux!!!:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

Hey folks - just wanted to say I'm back. Had a good time in Vegas but a great time hanging with Todd and his family. DS says that was his favorite part of the trip.

Very eventful day today. Dad had surgery, was in and out before noon. Everything went okay. Only thing is he's going to be crankier than usual for a few days. I turned in all my stuff at work and got my final paycheck. Well, not final, I don't get my severance check until next month. Finally told DS about the job situation a few days ago but it finally hit him today when I was talking about my final day. He says I'm not allowed to work some junky job like McDonald's or Albertsons (sorry Todd, he got that from Dylan's job). With all that going on, I totally forgot about a Dr appt. Hope I can get us back in before my medical runs out.

I'm actually going to try to catch up now....get prepared for Groundhogs.

Glad Dads surgery went well. We missed you!

Let me see if this works, spread sheets do not transfer well to the DIS.

Dining Rotation Early
Great Roger!!!! Does Cherie think you are too organized!!!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Good night all! Hope everyone has a great Friday! We are going to see Kung Fu Panda in the morning - cheap rates!:cool1:

She said that for vacation planning I am but my office needs some work :lmao:

Oh yeah! That's been on my mind today too. I'm still not sure if I can swing it.

And if you would have asked yesterday I would have said no way unless you promised to make good on the shark feeding. Trevoy had a mouth on him that would not quite. I had to remind myself that he was acting out because the trip was over. But I sure didn't want to go anywhere else with him at that moment.

I am sure someone will have some duct tape and we can use some human hair ( From me back) if we needs to be tying him up ...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I agree! I have DD's pink cast from when she broke her wrist rollerskating a few years ago. She was about 11 when it happened so not teeny tiny, but still I couldn't throw it out.

I have been dealing with this the past week. I have so much "stuff" in boxes that I finally decided it was time to de-clutter. DS is starting 5th grade in the fall, and I still had his school papers from Kindergarten. I've been going through his papers and DD's and saving special artwork that they did along with some of their other work (compositions, journals, etc.). I finally realized that I have 4 kids and I can't possibly save everything they do over the years! It is hard, though, putting all those papers out in the recycle bin. :worried: And, yes, I do still have the little green cast that my DS wore when he was 4 and I plan to keep that too! (Actually, I think my kids are worse than I am...they don't want to throw away anything! :scared1: )
