Day 2
We packed up, ate, and left the Hampton Inn to head for the Contemporary! We arrived at 9:00am and checked in. They had received my requests and we got a room on the 10th floor with a Magic Kingdom view - and it was ready! Perfect! I had also asked to have a letter from Mickey for my daughter when we got to the room - and we got one! It was a 4x6 photo of Mickey and Minnie - signed by both - with a helium balloon and a stuffed Minnie Mouse doll! She loved it! The room was absolutely great.
We hopped on the monorail and the conductor let us sit up front - which is great! We got to the Magic Kingdom with perfect weather and everyone very excited!
We went on Dumbo (20 minute wait), Small World, Peter Pan, the Carousel, and Snow White. Ate lunch at Pinnochio's Village Haus - very good. We then saw the Country Bear Jamboree (little outdated in my opinion, which I was upset about since I was very excited to go see it). Went to Adventureland and did the Magic Carpets, Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Carribean. Got Jafar's autograph! It was about 4:00 and pretty hot, so we headed back to the hotel.
We relaxed a bit and made reservations at Chef Mickey's for 6:30. This was a huge hit with my daughter. The food was great, and she loved all the characters coming around and signing her autograph book. She loved the party every 20 minutes and waving the napkins!
Walkd around the hotel and did some shopping - absolutely great place. Got back to the room to watch the disney good-night stories they have on TV and watched Cinderellas castle change colors (and the electrical water parade too!). Fantastic first day in the park.
