With the talk about immunizations recently, I called and have Lisa's appointment before 7th grade. I want to get that over before we start summer vacation and they can't start 7th grade without them getting their last set of shots (whatever they are).

HI HONEY. I MISS YOU. COME HOME SOON!

I got to leave and take Matt to TWD so I'll see you tonight, just be quiet when you come in.

Don't get your hopes up with a visit to the Stacey Shack. I spent the day with Stacey and got to see the shop, the Horney Toad, the schools.....but no Stacey Shack. :confused3

I don't want to see the Stacey Shack. I want to see the Horney Toad. :lmao: So there! :)

Wow, a U TOP with Stacey, Jim and a horney toad. Not sure how I feel about that one :confused3

Something I'm going to try and get around to once every day until the 7th as this is getting near now. A quick cut and paste reminder.

Just a reminder for the new cruisers.

We have a website that has all the really important info for meeting other Dis cruisers druing the cruise here:

Unfortunately, the group t-shirts and bags are done.

But the deadline of May 7th for getting buttons and being listed in the mini-nav is coming up quick!

And yes, Fran and Ron are great at kickin' their heels up!

And we had a great time doing it....especially after Ron realized my husband wasn't a big dancer!

Are you ready, Ron?????

Erin survived her trip to the urologist. He was actually very good - I liked him. It's a good thing, because I think we may be with him for a while.

He diagnosed her with an "immature bladder." Basically, for a child of 5 1/2, her bladder acts like it's only 3 1/2. It contracts involuntarily, which is what's causing her problems. He said it's not all that uncommon in girls this age, and that she'll eventually outgrow it. (Although he couldn't say how long it will take - may be when she's 8-10 years old.)

For now, we've put her on Detrol, which should take effect in a few days. We're doing an ultrasound just to rule out anything being wrong with her kidneys, and have a follow up on the 22nd. So we'll see how it goes. Makes me breathe a small sigh of relief, though, because I was worried that we would still have problems on the cruise. Hopefully, now, that won't be the case.

Glad to hear the doctor visit went well, Samantha. My sister's daughter has the same thing - she's 7 now and it IS starting to get better. Prayers and PD pixiedust: that the ultrasound shows all's well with Erin's kidneys. :sunny:

The name of the maker of the Best Mojitos in the Magic is "Arul"

Well................now that you got us hooked on them, all my neighbors call me "mojito mama". Come to Tampa, and you can try them!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

CRUISE QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Actually, a 2-part cruise question...)

1... Has anybody been to Paradise Beach in Cozumel?

2... Is anybody planning on going this time???

We had originally planned on heading over to Chakanaab, but, it still isn't open, and I doubt that it will be fully functional by cruise time... Paradise Beach looks like a great place for the kids to hang out and have a fun day without running all over the island... we aren't doing a DCL excursion.

I have been reading good things about it on another board... sounds like a low-key, fun day...

Where has Coachpug been today? Did he go out of town?

Ang

I Was not on today since I had an important off site meeting on the golf course with one of our vendors....sometimes going to meetings are OK..But since I am a horrible golfer, this was a frustrating meeting but better than being in the office..

I loved the cabana massage!!! Something about laying in the sun, listening to the wave, and have a woman rub warm oil all over my body.

That sounds good to me also!!!

She probably already had the second MMR before Kindergarten. If not, she'll need that now. She'll also need a tetanus booster. There's a new tetanus booster--called Tdap--that has pertussis in it. I'd get that one if your doc has it.

Finally, she should have a Menactra. It's a meningitis shot that used to be given at age 18, before college. But last July the AAP and CDC both started recommending it be given at age 11 or 12 (sorry Lisa).

So she'll need 2 and MAYBE 3 (if she didn't get MMR #2 at age 5).

sorry... couldn't resist...

Thanks, Laura. I'm optimistic that all's well. I'm just glad that we now know what it is, that we're not alone, and that there is help. Thanks for letting me know about your niece and that she's getting better. Just a matter of time, I guess!

It did look interesting - I jumped on cthe other board a few weeks ago. I'm wondering if we might consider hopping a taxi over there...

Low key and fun... sounds like heaven. I've heard good things about Paradise Beach, and we're planning on heading there that day. Like you, we'll be doing it on our own, not through the excursion. Wanna share a cab? :sunny:

hi sjtracey

Glad to hear your daughter's appointment went well. Detrol helps relax the bladder muscle so it doesn't spasm. Helps kids not pee so often and keeps them from having daytime accidents. (Won't help much with bed-wetting though).

I do have to ask you one thing though, and this ONLY comes from seeing LOTS of kids with the same problem. Believe it or not, constipation is a common cause of those same symptoms. Even in kids who poop regularly every day. If their bowels are full of stool, it pushes on the bladder, which makes the bladder spasm, causing the symptoms Detrol relieves.

Forgive me, but I am going to get gross here. It's okay though, the kitty litter is humiliating enough--it can't get any worse. Lets say a kid gets out 2 big turds every day, but they could have gotten out 5. 3 are left behind. the next day, they get out 2 big turds--they slide right out. but now they have a surplus of 6. and on it goes, until you have a kids with FULL bowels who has big stools everyday that come out easily. mom and dad would never think of constipation, but the kid IS constipated. And those kids often have frequent urination, urgency, and daytime accidents.

if your doctor already tried a stool softner like Miralax, with no result after 3-4 weeks on it, then Detrol is the way to go.

I debated posting this, believe me, and I say it all with a humble heart. And your daughter may have a different problem altogether. BUT urologists don't usually think about constipation, because most pediatricians have tried a stool softner for urinary urgency/frequency/accidents BEFORE sending them to the urologist.

I've said my peace... now I can sleep. HOPE you aren't too offended.

:)

I'm sure we won't all fit, but cabs are everywhere... I'm sure we can grab 3 or 4 and get us all there...

the cc board has a large thread on it that is visited daily by the guy that runs paradise beach... go to their board, go to the Cozumel section, and search on "Paradise Beach"... if you can't find it, I'll PM or e-mail you with the info...

Paradise Beach has its own website as well... I don't think it's 'illegal' to post that here... its paradise-beach-cozumel.net. (If it IS illegal... sorry... go ahead and delete it M&M...)
