Good Morning All - Thank you all for the good advise and 'offers'. I know now to say no to chickens and DRAMA QUEENS.

Sue

CHICKENS! You got something against CHICKENS!

A TOP with Sue and chickens.

Good morning all. We're getting a little bit of rain here. No complaints since it's much needed. Hope everyone has a good start to the week!

Angie

OK, I just went out to feed my
chicken.gif
s
I hadn't collected the eggs since Friday evening, so there should have been 15 or 16 eggs. I go out to find 1 egg. I can only conclude that our Dalmation, Stormy, got really hungry over the weekend. She has figured out that she can fit in the chicken door and has become an egg thief if we don't keep an eye on her. Since we were gone all weekend, and the dogs were left outside, she had free reign of the chicken coop! At least it's the eggs and not the chickens (that only happened once).

Stacey, I can relate to the 'room of stuff'. I have one of those that I call our spare bedroom. Our basement tends to get water once in a while and our pole barn tends to get mice all of the time, so we're limited in our storage space. DS is worse at packratting than I am, though. Luckily no one ever comes to visit, they'd be sleeping on the couch, or in DS's bottom bunk bed.

I'm off to take our van into the shop. We had to take the clunker car to St. Louis because the rear brakes on the van started to grind and squeal on Friday afternoon. Then I have a lunch with some former co-workers.

For those of you with little girls ... when I was at Wal-mart this weekend, I noticed some Disney princess pillowcases in the craft section. I think they were just the outline of a princess then you have to color them in. I didn't have a chance to check them out since DH & girls were with me. I think I'll go get one for each girl and will color myself. Ashley's b-day is next month so that will be a good present for her. I think they were around $10.

OM, Foxtrot comic strip has been doing a series on that Nintendo game. Sounds like a good substitute for a REAL dog!

Stacey, you were up late last night! And the night before... Planning for trips, right? So tell us about Costa Maya, what did you find out?

Sandi, sounds like a fun weekend. Is Patrick Cassidy related to David? And was Amy the girl on American Idol with the pink hair?

Monica, glad to hear all is well. Hope you can get home soon.

The Housewives were in rare form tonight! Loved Lynette making her pitch while she changed a diaper.

What made it funnier was how much I could RELATE to her doing that... I was never a SAHM, and that was ALWAYS my life when my kids were little... but it worked. (Granted, I wasn't lucky enough to have a SAHD, but I had the worlds best surrogate-grandma for my kids to 'visit' all day during the day... which, in hindsight, was even better.)

Just checking back in... we had the motorcycle poker run benefit for Matt's wife and children yesterday... at least 1500 people showed up. It was fantastic!! 100% exhausting, but worth every ounce of exhaustion. I don't have our final $ tally yet, but it was pretty darn impressive!!

Monica- thanks for checking in... glad to know that you're safe and sound. Hope the return trip goes well.

Of course, the watching of season 1 will have to wait until I get through all discs of the first 3 seasons of 24!! Shouldn't take TOO long. Last night Mike and I watched FIVE episodes. Wow. Is that a good show!

My favorite show... I haven't missed an episode yet (and haven't rented the 'marathon' season-long DVD's...); thankfully I'm usually home on Monday (and formerly Tuesday) nights. When the show first started, they would replay the episodes on Friday on FX... that helped, too! (Then again, Kiefer could just stand there and read the dictionary week after week, and I'd STILL tune in to watch:love: )

I got a kick out of that part too. DH could NEVER handle being sick AND taking care of the girls. Somehow, us moms ALWAYS manage! I shouldn't slam him too much though. He'll have to take up the slack in a couple of weeks but he'll have help from my parents and his mom.

How observant are you???

The average person only gets 7 right. This is based on U.S. info, so use
all lobes of your brain. This can be more difficult than it looks - it just shows how little most of us really see!
There are 25 questions about things we see every day or have known about
all our lives. How many can you get right? These little simple questions are harder than you think. It just shows how little we pay attention to the commonplace things of life.
RULES: Put your thinking caps on. No cheating! No looking around! No
getting out of your chair! No using anything on or in your desk or computer! Can
you beat 13?? (The average is 7) Write down your answers and check
answers (on the bottom) AFTER completing all the questions. REMEMBER - NO CHEATING!!! It doesn't matter if you cheat, actually, because if you have
to cheat, then you don't know the answer, thus, you've already missed the question. BE HONEST!!! That means no looking at your phone or anything on
your desk...
Then, before you pass this on to your friends, change the number on the subject line to show how many you got correct. Forward to your friends
and also back to the one who sent it to you.
LET'S JUST SEE HOW OBSERVANT YOU REALLY ARE. - If not, just have fun!
Here we go!

1. On a standard traffic light, is the green on the top or bottom?
2. How many states are there in the USA? (Don't laugh, some people don't know.)
3. In which hand is the Statue of Liberty's torch?
4. What six colors are on the classic Campbell's soup label?
5. What two numbers on the telephone dial don't have letters by them?
6. When you walk does your left arm swing with your right or left leg?
(Don't you dare get up to see!)
7. How many matches are in a standard pack?
8. On the United States flag is the top stripe red or white?
9. What is the lowest number on the FM dial? (Don't look at that dial!)
10. Which way does water go down the drain, counter or clockwise? (Get
out of the bathroom!)
11. Which way does a "no smoking" sign's slash run?
12. How many channels on a VHF TV dial?
13. On which side of a women's blouse are the buttons?
14. Which way do fans rotate?
15. How many sides does a stop sign have?
16. Do books have even-numbered pages on the right or left side?
17. How many lug nuts are on a standard car wheel?
18. How many sides are there on a standard pencil?
19. Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey, Doc. Who's missing?
20. How many hot dog buns are in a standard package?
21 On which playing card is the card maker's trademark?
22 On which side of a Venetian blind is the cord that adjusts the opening
between the slats?
23. There are 12 buttons on a touch tone phone. What 2 symbols bear no digits?
24. How many curves are there in the standard paper clip?
25. Does a merry-go-round turn counter or clockwise?

I'm surprised how gripping it is. I'm not sure it's healthy for my heart rate to be so high for so long! ;)

We laugh when he does something really physical and say to one another "I could never do that." Like when he dropped to the ground and slid under that car....
then again, I can pull a muscle putting on a shirt, so asphalt diving isn't for me!

Wow, not until Jan. I guess that's right though. It seems like it starts right about the Superbowl.

Crud...busy server "ate" my response...

anyway, I got 17. And I didn't cheat. Had the most trouble with the counter clockwise and clockwise questions. Plus I havent' seen a VHF TV dial in eons. Do ppl still have these? Venetian blind question wasn't fair for me...we have all custom blinds and chose what side to put our controls on depending on the room. I got 5 of the 6 Campbell's colors question right, but no partial credit, huh?

Well, I got 15 out of 25. I was pretty sure of myself until I read the answers. I got 4 of the Campbell's colors, couldn't think of the 7th dwarf, either.

Sandi, sounds like a fun weekend. Is Patrick Cassidy related to David? And was Amy the girl on American Idol with the pink hair?
Yes, Amy was the one with the pink hair. She has it black with red/pink tips for the show. Patrick is David's half-brother; his brother is Shaun, mother Shirley Jones (Partridge Family mom), father Jack Cassidy. I couldn't place Jack Cassidy, so had to look him up. I know that I saw him in a lot of tv shows in the 60's and 70's. Yes, I'm OLD!

I got 19 right! Missed #'s 7, 9, 11, 20, 22 & 24
