Repeat after me... the answer is ALWAYS "We're not sure WHAT we're doing this weekend... I can't think that far ahead." Always works!

How about - We are going to WDW! :rotfl2:

Works for me....

Another long, hot day at the football field... Christopher's team won, Ray's team lost. Today was Christopher's first game at linebacker... he was THRILLED! (He had been playing strong safety before). He ended up getting helped off the field at the end of the first half, but I managed not to go into insane mother mode. He was back in after the half... nothing major. He's tiny, but he's tough.
:cheer2: :cheer2: Go Chris GO :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?

First of all the humor is decidedly heavy British, almost must be a Python fan to enjoy the books, and this new movie is badly butchered. To make an example, the BBC made a miniseries many years ago and it was like 8 hours and even that didn't cover it properly.

Read the books

Watched the PBS SPecial

Skipped the Movie!

Hi long lost friends!!!!!!!:flower: I have finally made it from Chicago to Georgia! :sunny: It was a close call for me here in the ole Peach state! I almost melted!!!!! I had to sit on the hot porch for one week before the people got back from the cruise that I was supposed to be on!!!:confused3 The nerve of them leaving me, the Great Scoop Scoopie behind! :mickeybar :charac2: I haven't gotten to go on a tour around the city of Columbus yet, because these people hve been working!:scratchin Can you believe they would rather work, than take me out for a grand time around the city??? But I have something to look forward to, Amanda has told me that the fair is in town this week, and maybe, just maybe if I am a good scoop I can go since I missed my cruise. :fish: And, I may actually go with her tommorrow and see what this thing, WORK, is. Hmmmm....TTFN
Scoopie

In case gaRry confused some of you...(he's good at that)....let me clarify: It wasn't MY 50th birthday.....not yet, at least! Soon......

Thanks for the extra pot of coffee. I needed it.

A bomb went off in my house. Jay is in the attic installing new (what's the stuff called, Kevin? Round, silver, venting....??) good grief my brain is gone!
Anyway....the only access to the attic is through the ceiling of my storage room. I keep important things in there. Things that I have no other place for go in there. Things that I don't want to deal with for the next 20 or so years.
Things that I bought because they were on sale. Things I will never use. Things that I already had 5 of, but forgot where they were......
Jay never goes in this room. Until this morning. It is now empty. All of my THINGS are spread all over my bedroom. I think that's a hint.

Hi Scoopie!! I'm going to have to think of a fun place to take you when you come visit us! Too bad you aren't coming at Rodeo time..... you could have ridden a bull. Darn.

Did I mention that I hate weekends? Yes, that's correct. Why didn't I have the kind of husband who watches sports all weekend???

Guess I should go attack the pile of THINGS.

OK .......I had to tear myself away from Amanda's youngest son Nathan. He loves me!!! It is good to be loved!! I will forgive them for leaving me behind while they wen on the cruise. I understand from 2 year old Nathan, that they did the same thing to him! ;-p Nathan saw my picture on the website that Monica made for me, and he was so very excited! He keeps kissing me and making Amanda kiss me....haha
Irene, I do not want to miss our food and wine rondevous..so please PM Amanda with your address.....Is it okay if I bring Nathan with me to your house? We have become attached...

We've had a busy day. After Mass we decided to swing by McDonald's to check out the play place to see if it was appropriate for Ashley's 3rd b-day party. It's not ... Ashley is not big enough to play on her own ... steps to the slide are too big. So ... we made the decision to have her party at Chuck E Cheese :confused3 . I can't believe we're doing that. What were we thinking??? The things we do for children!!! Her b-day is 10 days after my surgery. So we needed to find a place where DH could do it on his own if need be. We even opted for them to do the goodie bags. All we (he) have to do is show up with the b-day girl and cake.

This afternoon Emily & I went buy her late birthday present - a new bike. She got a Strawberry Shortcake one and a Carebears helmet.

Anyone else watching Desparate Housewives tonight? Hope I can keep my eyes open.

Ang

Nope. Not me. Here's my plan. I'm going to set a season pass for Desperate Housewives on my DVR. Then I'm going to get season 1 of Desperate Housewives and watch season 1 first....THEN I'll catch up on season 2!! :)

Of course, the watching of season 1 will have to wait until I get through all discs of the first 3 seasons of 24!! Shouldn't take TOO long. Last night Mike and I watched FIVE episodes. Wow. Is that a good show! Kids are upset b/c I hijacked their Netflix queue in order to have more 24 discs at one time!! Hey, who pays the bills????? ;)

Going up to set the DVR so I don't forget!

Nice house - 3 kitchens! Jim would love the basement - a full catering kitchen right next to a huge wine cellar!

I'm in heaven. Now if there was only diving near by I could be someone's "kept man". :rotfl2:

Monica went to Natchitoches, LA. It's about mid-way up in LA pretty much at the TX/LA border. I bet they felt some of Rita there but hopefully not too bad. She may very well be without power.

Ang

Hi all!

Thanks for your concerns, prayers, and thoughts. In a nutshell, Natchitoches lost power about 3:30 Friday a.m. and at our friend's mother's house where we are staying it came back on yesterday around 6:00pm. Gas and supplies are scarce around here. We're going to try to return tomorrow. The Houston mayor and Texas Governer has requested a staggered return to try and control the flow of people back into the area. School is out until Thursday. Preliminary reports from friends in our area who never left, say power is out in places but all in all not much damage, thankfully.

We spent today cleaning up our friend's mother's yard. Other than being stuck inside with 4 active kids (actually, they were really good - all things considering) with no power yesterday, we've had fun exploring the Natchitoches area. For you movie buffs - this is the hometown of the author of Steel Magnolias. His parents still live here. The movie was also filmed here, too.

Best local food - meat pies! yum! Catfish was awesome too!!! I polished off 8 6-8inch whole catfish on Friday night - Just practicing for JB's Fishcamp :rotfl2:

The kids have pronouced this the best hurricane ever because they got to spend it with friends. John gets the good husband award for remembering to grab the Cubs/Astros Series Tickets for next weekend. Can't believe I'd forget them while going through the important papers - everything is in the same spot!

Again, thanks for caring! I'll try to catch up on posts tomorrow!

Monica - thanks for checking in. Happy to hear all is well. Have a safe trip home!

I have one that does that too. His nickname at work is "blue flame". I will let you all guess what that refers to. Probably a good thing he's not around much on weekends, we might kill him.

Love ya hon, mean it!

Kevin is watching Battlestar Galactica on Netflix right now. While drinking margaritas and eating guacamole. Only problem, I somehow got Season 1, disc 2. Think he will notice?

Karen, did you ever get through Gilmore Girls?

Oh, and we will DEFINITELY be watching DH tonight. It's appointment viewing at our house. We kind of like Grey's Anatomy too.

Sharon will be there. I'm just a tag along.

I am in on Desperate Housewives. Hubby hates it, but I love it. One of us has to go pick up Ashley at church tonight. I sure don't want to miss the start of the show.

Been busy most of the day doing laundry. Wow, I sure had a lot. When I am really busy during the week like this last one, I didn't get any mid-week loads done:guilty:

Did take time out to take Ashley to the movies. We had been wanting to go see "Just like Heaven" with Reese Witherspoon. We both really like the movie and we did cry a little. Thank goodness she is like me and doesn't mind crying during a movie. Hubby makes fun of us all the time.

Have a great week everyone.

Monica...glad to hear that you are all safe. Sorry to hear about the power loss, and simply the whole ordeal in general, but HOORAY for your kids being good, and making the best of it!! What a great help that is! Safe travels home, and I hope everything is fine there.

Maybe I should be watching Desperate Housewives? Sounds like I'm missing some fun. I thought I was the desperate housewife! Oh well. I don't have a pool guy, or a gardener, or handyman......unless you count Jay......no, never mind!
