I don't believe it !!! I got a milestone post!!!

I'll gladly share it with my dh, but do I have to share it with Rita?

Nope ... Monica came in to snag post #16,000. Congrats Monica!!!

Who's keeping tabs on our post count? Are we going to pass the 10-day?

Ang

Way to go Angie on the milestone reply (At first, I couldn't figure out what you were counting down) :cheer2: - Can't believe no one is around...

OK, I just went out to feed my

I hadn't collected the eggs since Friday evening, so there should have been 15 or 16 eggs. I go out to find 1 egg. I can only conclude that our Dalmation, Stormy, got really hungry over the weekend. She has figured out that she can fit in the chicken door and has become an egg thief if we don't keep an eye on her. Since we were gone all weekend, and the dogs were left outside, she had free reign of the chicken coop! At least it's the eggs and not the chickens (that only happened once).

tonight it is the chicken for us....Our neighbor raised them before he moved. We still have several in the freezer.

I hoever, like the layer hens the best and really miss the fresh eggs....

Crud...busy server "ate" my response...

anyway, I got 17. And I didn't cheat. Had the most trouble with the counter clockwise and clockwise questions. Plus I havent' seen a VHF TV dial in eons. Do ppl still have these? Venetian blind question wasn't fair for me...we have all custom blinds and chose what side to put our controls on depending on the room. I got 5 of the 6 Campbell's colors question right, but no partial credit, huh?

17 is a good number - mine as well. The Campbell's soup can threw me - I only got 4 colours.....And missed all the phone questions - boy that is a LOL.......

Come on - the 7 dwarfs!!!! That was a gimme....

Congrats to Monica on post #16,000

Congrats to Angie on reply #16,000

As far as the quiz - what can I say - my mind is full of useless information.

Besides I had to uphold my trivia title I won on the 10 day!

Well, finally caught up on posts. Jim heard the story when we were doing laundry at Rose and Crown.

Anyway, the US Gov't saw fit to Intend to Deny my British mother the renewal of her green card (insert long story here, best told over beer or wine).

Finally, the renewal was granted and DH took us to Legal Seafood to celebrate (it was a long haul to get there BTW)

It was oyster month, oh drool....unfortunately, I have developed an allergy to a 12 varieties....pooh!

But enjoyed the dinner, the shrimp and the wine flight/

3 Pinot Noirs - Mark West - Brancot Classic and Willa Kenzie. My favourite was the Willa Kenzie - a wonderful arouma (nose) and a deep rich taste for a pinot.

Have another refresher dive tomorrow night - Dive instructor coming over to do pool work with me....OK - so he rips the mask off my face near the surface and I do what - I surface......(I was 2 fooet down). Do I clear the mask - no I surface and spout - what the heck were you trying to do...OK. flunked that drill....rather than cart myself to a pool, we will refresh in the pool (which is way to cold for me) Can I wear the wetsuit?

Phone questions were easy for me b/c Mike's VERY EXPENSIVE Blackberry doesn't have the letters on the phone numbers. So we'll be out somewhere and have to call a place that has a "letter phone number" and we're always refiguring how that translates.

Like at WDW when we were having too much fun in the pool and wanted to cancel a PS for dinner....1-407-WDW-DINE...

Ok, 2 is ABC, 3 is DEF, etc etc...no Q, no Z :)

It might seem harsh, but not panicking underwater when you lose your mask, or any other problem can be VERY helpful!!

Actually, they don't normally do that in classes these days. When I learned back in the Seventies that was common practice along with turning off your air and other interesting tricks. You did learn to cope and that makes you a better diver!!

BTW, did you pay extra for that abuse?? :rotfl2:

Hey who told him I had a Blackberry..... I mean I need to keep him copying my toys.....

That is one thing I hate about the Blackberry....Have you ever tried to call in to Radio Disney? - when Lauren is using the phone trying to figure out what the numbers are - and I'm trying not to wreck from laughing....

How observant are you???

The average person only gets 7 right. This is based on U.S. info, so use
all lobes of your brain. This can be more difficult than it looks - it just shows how little most of us really see!
There are 25 questions about things we see every day or have known about
all our lives. How many can you get right? These little simple questions are harder than you think. It just shows how little we pay attention to the commonplace things of life.
RULES: Put your thinking caps on. No cheating! No looking around! No
getting out of your chair! No using anything on or in your desk or computer! Can
you beat 13?? (The average is 7) Write down your answers and check
answers (on the bottom) AFTER completing all the questions. REMEMBER - NO CHEATING!!! It doesn't matter if you cheat, actually, because if you have
to cheat, then you don't know the answer, thus, you've already missed the question. BE HONEST!!! That means no looking at your phone or anything on
your desk...
Then, before you pass this on to your friends, change the number on the subject line to show how many you got correct. Forward to your friends
and also back to the one who sent it to you.
LET'S JUST SEE HOW OBSERVANT YOU REALLY ARE. - If not, just have fun!
Here we go!

1. On a standard traffic light, is the green on the top or bottom?
2. How many states are there in the USA? (Don't laugh, some people don't know.)
3. In which hand is the Statue of Liberty's torch?
4. What six colors are on the classic Campbell's soup label?
5. What two numbers on the telephone dial don't have letters by them?
6. When you walk does your left arm swing with your right or left leg?
(Don't you dare get up to see!)
7. How many matches are in a standard pack?
8. On the United States flag is the top stripe red or white?
9. What is the lowest number on the FM dial? (Don't look at that dial!)
10. Which way does water go down the drain, counter or clockwise? (Get
out of the bathroom!)
11. Which way does a "no smoking" sign's slash run?
12. How many channels on a VHF TV dial?
13. On which side of a women's blouse are the buttons?
14. Which way do fans rotate?
15. How many sides does a stop sign have?
16. Do books have even-numbered pages on the right or left side?
17. How many lug nuts are on a standard car wheel?
18. How many sides are there on a standard pencil?
19. Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey, Doc. Who's missing?
20. How many hot dog buns are in a standard package?
21 On which playing card is the card maker's trademark?
22 On which side of a Venetian blind is the cord that adjusts the opening
between the slats?
23. There are 12 buttons on a touch tone phone. What 2 symbols bear no digits?
24. How many curves are there in the standard paper clip?
25. Does a merry-go-round turn counter or clockwise?

Believe it or not...I got 17 right. I guess that's from living with a Jeopardy fanatic.

Hi Everyone,

I finally caught up on your posts. I was waaayyy back on page 1053 when I last logged on. THAT was a lot of pages ago. Anyway....

Monica - glad to hear your safe and sound and your house is OK.

I missed the dwarf one, too. I knew is was a dwarf that didn't end in a "Y". That one always stumps me. I too, got 4 of the Campbell's soup colors.

Construction update: We are now eating in our new kitchen. I can't believe it. I have been waiting for that day for 11 years now. We had our first meal yesterday, Sunday, at our new table. I made my honey his favorite meal...pot roast. He said that prime rib is in a very close 2nd, so I guess that may be next weekend. I filled my walk-in pantry today. OMG...I have 10 cake mixes and 11 frostings!! I better get baking. Oh, and Jello...way too many Jello packages. I promise I will post a picture this week.

OK..time for me to retire. Actually...I have to run out and get some milk....arrggg!!!! I almost forgot. I would be ugly here in the morning if we didn't have milk.

Have a good night and talk to you guys tomorrow.

TTFN,
Maria
