Well, looks like everyone started talking last night after I signed off. Oh well.

I tried the picture thing again here, but it looks like it is not working. I think I am challenged when it comes to this stuff. I will keep trying.

I tried putting it in the yahoo pictures. Is there another place to store photos in galleries or albums that I should try. Not quite sure what I am doing wrong.

Pam - take good notes - I'll need them when Scoopie comes to stay with us. I have no clue how to downsize.... :goodvibes

Happy Monday!

Happy 4th of July!

A great big thank you to the men and women who have fought for the freedom of this country over the years and who continue to serve this country today.

Yeah... what SHE said!!!!

Knowing that I wasn't taking the kids to the races, Ray gave our 'employee' tickets to a friend-of-a-friend who just returned from his 5th tour in Afghanistan. (He's going back again soon.) He is a huge race fan, and had never been to a race. Ray happily gave him the behind-the-scenes 'grand tour' and made sure that his first race was a great one... he'd love to do that for every one of them!!!

Morning All,

I'm living dangerously reading and posting without my morning mocha  - John is sleeping in..

Just a tiny bit of rain yesterday, just enough to wet the pavement. June was our record dryest month - don't think it rained at all...We really need it...Most fireworks are being cancelled. I think about the only ones scheduled are over Galveston Bay...

We actually have plans for today - we were invited to a ranch for a barbeque, etc...we've got about a 2-3 hr drive ahead of us...

Have fun everyone....must go do laundry from our weekend at WDW - and start making picnicy things......LAter... :sunny:

Same here!!!

Our church had their annual freedom celebration yesterday- full orchestra, mass choir, barbeque. The commander of the 147th Texas National Guard gave the sermon yesterday - the 147th escorted Pres. Bush around the country and back to D.C. on Sept 11. They are about to be deployed to Afganistan. We were able to honor their unit and families. It was really neat.

As usual, I got major goosebumps during the Battle Hymn of the Republic and the Military Hymn...

Mary - Vancouver, Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Vancouver. We did Canadian customs on arrival, Canadian and US to board, then Canadian and US when we got off. We did a program 'US Direct' so we went directly from the ship to the airport, what was called a sterile transfer.

Sue

Sue that's why you didn't have to do it on the ship. You started at a foreign port (Vancouver) where you were cleared - then 3 US ports - then your foreign port. Hope that makes sense.

Have a safe and happy 4th everyone!!

Doing the "normal" 4th stuff, BBQ, hangin' out, plumbing (DH is a plumber, no butt crack here) ;) Just some house stuff, only 1/2 day working today for hubby.

TTFN,
Maria

Happy July 4th Everyone!

Don't know what we will do today, probably just be lazy and get some stuff done at home. Kevin brought work to do. Alicia is asleep still.

Heard some big fireworks last night, but couldn't see them from here. There are several shows tonight, but I doubt anything can top seeing Wishes a few weeks ago!

Hi all,

A question for all you techies out there. I want to download some "American" music that we can listen to on CD while watching the fireworks. Can someone out there help me? I have REalPlayer and MusicMatch from DELL. Can you walk me through it. I can retrieve the songs, but how do I save them and then burn them? Very confused?

HELP!!!!

So share, share - we can plan your trip for you - won't that be fun!!!! What ports will you be in - etc etc....'Fess up!

We are going on Raddisson Seven Seas for our 20th Anniversary. It will be very upscale (suite) and it will be minus the children. The ports are no big deal (Key West, Couzmel, Grand Cayman) the typical Western Carribean. I plan on staying on the ship in most of the ports. Our neighbors are going with us so Jim and Mike have some dives planned and they will be jet skiing in Key West. (I did that last Christmas). We had orginally thought of doing a Crystal ship from Costa Rica, thru the Panama Canal and back to Ft. Lauderdale, but the neighbors don't want to do that. Also, our neighbors took a Raddisson Cruise to Alaska this summer and said it was incredible. I will get psyched the closer we get, but I am just not there yet.

Sharon, I have read of some really nice private beaches you can get to in Cozumel. They are usually owned by restaurants, so there is food available, and umbrellas etc. Some have snorkeling right offshore.

I didn't think much of Grand Cayman, unless you want to get in the water. The island is pretty desolate. And Key West is really just a big shopping town. Though we enjoyed the trolley tour last year, lots of historical information.

The thing I wanted to do in Key West, but we left too early, was a sunset sail on a schooner. That looked like a nice way to see the sunset. Of course, your ship will be very nice too!

uh oh!!

Ok Maria, it's all a format issue. What kind of format will be you be listening to the music with? MPG are probably the most common and will play either on your computer or most of the small portables like iPods. If you can save it as a mpg file then use a CD utility to burn it to a CD you'll be fine. Don't know what you have for that, but you can check on Tucows for a large selection I use Nero which has worked VERY well for me. It does audio, data and video and was pretty cheap if I remember right.

Most of those utilities will let you down load a trail version for approval. Use it and see how it works. If you don't like it remove it and download another.

This one looks like it would work for you it's rated high and has good popularity.

See how that works, if you need more help just ask!

I am soooooo confused. I just want to download some "patriot" music. I want to download onto a CD. I don't even know if my computer is capabile of this. I DO have to subscribe, is that correct? Not free, right? Sounds too complicated for me. I'm a very visual person. I don't know if I can do this. Let me play for a while. I'll get back. Thanks for your help.

Maria, copy the link to the music site so I can determine what format it is in. That way maybe I'll be able to better help.

Still watching the weather to see how you made out this weekend. I wish we could send you some of ours. We have way too much :umbrella: here. Everyday and the ground is soggy. At WDW there was standing water in the garden areas of hotels. We may lose our fruit trees between the hurricane waters and now this rain....

Here is to :sunny: for us and :umbrella: for you.

No rain, so therefore, no fireworks.......no big loss, we'll catch THOSE at WDW. The fire was stopped on its way down the mountain toward our house, but it is still burning further north. I took the dog out at 2:00 a.m. and could really smell it. That's the first time he's ever gotten up at night....don't know what was bugging him.

Kevin....the guy at Circuit City yesterday says he takes photos and videos as his "other profession"...and he uses "NERO". I thought that was a bit more than I wanted/needed. So far, Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements look very cool. Much better than any other program I've tried. Looks like I will still have to get one of the new DVD players if I want to see my pics on the TV.....mine doesn't play JPEG's.
Heading to the mall with all the other people in Phoenix. Nothing much else to do....and it's cool there!

Happy FOURTH !!
