kikipug - My Do you work at a beer distributor or something? You peaked my curiousity with the remark about selling a lot of beer. :cool1:

Just curious,

Yes... I am the Director of Marketing for a beer wholesaler... Bike Week always makes for some 'interesting' marketing opportunities, to say the least!!!

DW and I leave today for Gaylord Palms Orlando for a couple of days. Tonight is a black tie event....thank goodness for cruise wear! Wonder if I should wear my Mickey tie and vest?

No kids for four days :cool1:   :flower3:

Of course Sharon is leaving on Saturday to go to Lisa's meet, but says she will come back for Saturday night's event. I hope so.

I will be back for dinner. Jim has meetings on Saturday morning and Lisa has a meet on Saturday morning. I don't think Jim will even miss that I am gone, but he likes to give me a hard time about Lisa and her gymnastics. My going will make Lisa happy and I don't think Jim minds half as much as he likes to harass me about going. He and Matt were suppossed to be going to her State Meet in Tallahassee, but Matt has a Military Ball (for ROTC) that same weekend we just found out. So, it looks like we are splitting up the "kid duty" once again.

Today is my "cruise" day at the Gaylord Palms. I slept in (what a luxery), went to the health club to walk, had lunch with Jim, going to the spa this afternoon, then dinner with Jim at his Company's function. It is a Good Day!!! :cool1:

Ahhhh. Sounds beautiful. Today it was back to schooling full force (we'll lose a couple days next week b/c of the surgery) and picking up the dog from the kennel (which I haven't quite brought myself to do yet!) Would MUCH rather be at a spa! :)

HAVE FUN! And good luck to Lisa in tomorrow's meet!

Keep the prayers & pixie dust coming. :flower:

DH called around 12:15 to say that the interview went really well. He's very pleased but trying not to get his hopes up too high. HR told him that he'd probably hear something on Mon. It sounds like the $ will be right too. :goodvibes

Angie

Oh & a TOP to boot!!! Maybe that's a good sign.

YEA! Keeping it coming!!

Took Jared (11) to the eye doc today. Wow! I was amazed at what he has NOT been seeing! No wonder he has had his nose broken twice in baseball!!:earseek: Poor kid.

We picked out some nice glasses that almost seem like he isn't wearing glasses...frameless...like mine, I guess, only different. He'll also need a pair of sports glasses. They had some there, but the gal told me they have some new ones at their other store that are much "cooler"...wrap-around...Jared thought that sounded good.

I got the card in the mail from Castaway Club with the recipe for the souffle....did everyone else get one, too??

I hope Jared is not too bummed out about having to wear glasses. I was a lucky one and didn't have to start until I was in college ... darn computers!!!

Where is everyone tonight? We went out for Mexican (including margaritas)!

Being a DCL cruise newbie, how is the souffle? Does the recipe seem hard?

Angie

We're on our way out for Mexican right now....
Jared doesn't seem too bummed, I think he's just glad he will be able to see!

The souffle recipe seems hard to me, but anyone can tell you that I'm not much of a cook...:guilty:

Is that what causes that???

I had 20/20 until I turned 45, then it was "Boy, ya going to need bifocals"! Talk about a sudden turn around.

Ya, computers caused that!!! I'm signing off RIGHT now!! :wave2:

Yup, I got that today. I like their "quick recipe" for the souffle!!

It seems like the one they sent is not as rich. It didn't call for heavy cream, whereas the one I have from Palo DOES. It IS a pain in the butt to make, but it tastes JUST like the ones at Palo, so worth it once in awhile. I wished I hadn't eaten dinner and THEN tried to eat a souffle. Shoulda just had the souffle FOR dinner!! ;)

*(&&*(^$())# dog. Called the vet/kennel around noon. Asked if they could please trim her nails before I pick her up. Not a problem. So I pick her up around 4. She's excited to see me, but more guarded. Hunched a bit, hiding between my legs. I don't think she liked this place as much. So I bring her home. She ends up peeing without warning in the kitchen. :earseek: I was afraid of that since she didn't have access to the outside except twice a day. Then later her foot starts bleeding. I figure it's from the toenail trim so I get out my styptic powder and look....but it's some weird white/bloody thing hanging off her pawpad.

I call, take her back in. It's some polyp-y growth, maybe from an infection, but they've never seen it before. They clip it, cauterize it and pressure wrap it. Now she's home with the stupid satellite dish collar and on the same antibiotics that have made her puke in the past. :earseek:

Her behavior has been beautiful today....on an up-note. ;)

Man! You guys don't need reality TV, you ARE reality!!! In the flesh!!
:goodvibes Hope things look up, give Mike our best wishes!! :goodvibes

On our way to dinner, I was telling Jay and Jared about Mike....wish him lots of luck and good wishes from us! Jared had the doc explain to him why they did the "puff" of air in his eye. (glaucoma) The doctor took quite a bit of time explaining it, that was nice of him.

I didn't really look at the recipe for the souffle....A. I have the DCL cookbook ...and....... B. We know darn good and well I'd sooner pay for another cruise than make something that complicated.

Boy, I hit 40 and it was BAM....progressive lenses right from the git-go. But I feel lucky that I started out with them....Jay never could get used to them after wearing single-vision all his life. And I will NOT let that keep me from the computer!!

Morning all!!!

Cruisin Countdown!!!
457 Days!

Believe it or not, we have absolutely nothing on the calendar today (except for dh, John, he's in class) Guess it's time to tackle the yardwork and housework that's been neglected during basketball season...

:cool1: :cool1: It's Spring Break!!! :cool1: :cool1:

John and I had a "real" date last night - we went downtown Houston, had dinner in a fancy restaurant (no styrofoam and happy meal toys) :rotfl2: and saw "The Crucible" Took me right back to high school english class...It ws very good and intense...John does lights and sound for a local theatre group so, he was in tech nerd heaven talking with the sound tech, learning about the play's sound and light design...

Have a great weekend!

Monica

Good morning Cruisers!
We sail in 64 weeks!

Woo Hoo! Another week closer to cruising!

Sorry the countdown is a little late this week - our ISP was down all morning![/QUOTE]

Happy Saturday everybody. Everyone must be off doing fun stuff. We had the early mornign swim practice at 7 this morning, then went out to breakfast, Ashley to Cheer and then I have been home all afternoon doing laundry and putting away, and picking up, and on and on. Springs on the garage broke this morning on my way out to swim practice, so had to call in someone to repair that

Looks like we are going to do a little remodeling, like enlarging our closet (yeah:) ) so we are waiting for the guys to come buy. We are going to get a bigger closet, a wall separating our vanity area from the bedroom, roof maintenance, and new cabinets and tile in both of the bathrooms. Can't wait to get some of this stuff done.

Take care everybody!

Pam
