Well, we're slowly making plans for our "extra" week now that we've cancelled our 4/30 cruise. Our first thought was a couple of days for Sea World, maybe a couple/few days at Vero....

But I think the kids have come up with a good plan.....we try to get something at Beach Club for the whole week. Spend a day at Sea World (shows and animals, not the rides) and then the rest of the week pool hopping (something we never have enough time to do since we started cruising and WDW time is at a premium). Figured we could walk to Epcot in the evenings for dinner or Illuminations, but we would have limited park time that week....we'd focus more on things that we've missed out on recently.

Works for me....we aren't really "beach people" anyway, so the biggest draw to Vero would be the pool and relaxing....which we can do at WDW. :)

:rotfl2: :teeth: I miss those old days, myself!! Things will warm up around here when we get closer.

Yeah, I'll admit, I haven't been around much either. Things have been nuts with school and Mike's mom and Mike's eyes and Mike's dog.....hmmm....seems like he's sucking up a lot of my free time!!! :rotfl2:

All I know is that's the first time I really wished I had one of those camera phones!
We did ask a waitress (the daughter of a friend of ours) if she knew what the deal was, and all she said was "Maybe that's the latest style"....darn kids, can't count on them to be snoopy for us!
Truly, though...how do you wait on someone in a bathrobe and NOT ask them why they are wearing that??
So do you remember the "princess lady" at our seating on the Christmas cruise?? Now THAT was weird too!!

This lady, dressed up like a princess every night for dinner. I mean REALLY dressed up. Looked like she was a four year old that had an over imaginative mother..... too funny!! :rotfl2:

Hey, that's a great idea! It is always rushed when you go to the parks, and if you manage to have any "extra" time at all.....might as well do some of those things. That's great. Such "thinkers" those kids are!

Ah, yes....but I have pictures of "Cinderella" from the cruise! And....she wore wigs!

Yeah, I think I'll keep them! :)

I have another funny dinner story....
I put filets on the grill tonight, potatoes in the oven, corn, rolls.....
Jay & Jared went to baseball practice tonight, so I thought I'd be nice and cook for a change. Table set, call the "men".....go out to get the steaks off the grill....
They are stone cold and raw!
The tank was empty.
Tank two was empty
Tank three's regulator didn't want to fit.
We had baked potatoes, corn and rolls for dinner.

Jim would be ashamed of me. Not at all surprised, but ashamed.

Actually, the robe had more of a "loop" to the fabric....more like chenille than terry, I think.

Ha! The crazy lady helped me get a T.O.P.!!

My first thought, she lost a bet with her husband. DD has been known to go out in public in pajama bottoms. Haven't done it myself, yet.

The first dance comp is over, whew! Alicia did fine, ingrown toenail and all. She did a good job on her solo, scoring high enough to be name "semi-finalist for Dancer of the Year". That means I could take her to NY this summer, and she could be in a big production number. I'm thinking of using this trip as a big, fat, bribe. Got the idea from the Gooses. Only problem is, the fee has to be paid by April 15.

I outdid myself too. Made two pairs of stretchy capris for the Jazz routine. Now I remember why I HATE SEWING!!!! :badpc: (Just imagine that the PC is my sewing machine).

Well I had an even more strange site at dinner tonight. Went out to dinner with 3 friends (we've been friends since High School). Nearing the end of the meal and all our catching up who sits down at the table right next to us but my brother. The brother I haven't seen or heard from (my choice) since my mom died 7 years ago! Actually the only brother I have but I wrote him out of my life before my mom was even sick (with her permission). Needless to say it was quite a shock. This was a resturant that I hadn't been in for over 14 years. Who whould have thought that on the same night at the same time he and his wife would walk in and sit down next to us. I was really glad it was at the end of the meal!

Is that a good thing for a baseball player, or a bad thing??

I waved over and said Hi! His wife said hi back but I don't think he did (or if he did I didn't hear). My friends were a little upset with me that I didn't want to go over and talk but I'm not going to change my opinion. Besides communications works two ways and he didn't come over to me either. :)

Come our way for a day or so. Maybe you will have time to bake those cookies I hear so much about.

Yes, Sharon and I walked out of the entertainment tonight. She said that it was not up to DCL standards.

No, I am proud of you. You went out there and tried. That is what I am proud of. I have had many meals go bad and you just have to make do. Just ask OhioMinnie. She say me spend 20 minutes on stuffing a pork loin when it should have taken 2 minutes. It just was not working out so I backed up and made it work. It was okay....not my best. There are times things just don't work out. Oh well....that is cooking. Just serve more liquor and they won't even notice!!! :flower:

justmestace -

Hobby is about what I would consider a medium sized airport 3 terminal areas- there are a few magazine stands with snacks & drinks, and a bar in each wing of the airport The only restaurant type place that I remember is up front by the ticket counters...It's a fast food barbeque restaurant - I haven't flown out of Hobby lately, and I know they've done some renovations...Don't think there's any sitdown restaurants yet...My parents are flying in on Thursday from Chicago, I'll pump them for more info.

Too bad we couldn't arrange a mini-meet!

Okay, you cant tease those of us who were not on this cruise with you. You must share!

By the way, the best way of cooking a filet is on the stove top and the oven. 5 minutes on the stove top on medium high so it is seared, turn it over and bake it at 400 degrees for 5-7 minutes, pull it out and let it sit for 5 minutes.

The perfect filet, the way Ruth Chris cookes it.
