I am travelling with just my three children, although they are a little older than yours (14, 12 and 9). This isn't the first time I've done it, either. I would say that a Disney cruise is the best environment to travel with your kids and without another adult to help, since the kids clubs and activities are so wonderful, you will still get time on your own to enjoy the cruise.

Hi Sandy 88 - I'm travelling alone with my dd8. This is our second disney cruise, and its really a great vacation for a single parent (whether its by choice or not!). As Bellelinus said, its a great mix of quality time with your children and some alone time as well. you'll have a blast!

Hi, everyone -- I paid off the cruise today, so that I wouldn't be worried about whether the payment had been processed when the 90 day window comes up for booking . . . it will be here before we know it!

:cool1: Congrats will payoff mine this wk, but can't book ressies untill day 75

Hopefully you will get lucky like I did on my first cruise -- was able to book everything I wanted, as long as I was flexible on the times, at 75 days. Our cruise doesn't seem to be that full, so probably you will be OK booking at 75.

Just booked Captain Marvin 1/2 day snorkel. Has anyone else booked this? I wonder if they try to put the Magic passengers on the same trip. As soon as Christmas is over, I'm going to get Really Excited about this cruise.

I booked the Captain Marvin half day snorkel for me and my three daughters.

Hi again,

Just got back from San Diego, after being land locked for 3 years it was great to see the ocean again. And off in the distance what did I see every day? I saw cruise ships, so naturally I thought of our upcoming Disney cruise every day. Just paid in full and getting ready to make reservations....... oh what to do, what to do! So many things so little time.

Hi everyone! Did any of you who are repeat cruisers book your excursions, etc., early this morning? I got up at 3 AM and got everything I wanted and the times I wanted, too! Of course, our cruise doesn't seem to be full, so I probably didn't even need to get up that early. Happy holidays to everyone!

I too got up early. Got most of the times and ressies I wanted. Booked a dolphin swim on our own. So excited about swimming with the dolphins, I life long dream of mine. Can't believe the cruise is only 90 days out.

Have seen it mentioned that this cruise was not too crowded, how do you know? I would have thought with it being Spring Break it would be very crowded?

A Very Merry Christmas to One and All!

I have thought that it was not very crowded because occasionally I go on the website to look at the prices and availability for this cruise, and the prices havent really changed significantly since August and there is generally availability in most categories. The Western earlier in March seems to have less availability, for some reason.

Spring Break seems to vary widely in different parts of the country, thank goodness.

hope everyone had a wonderful christmas, or if you don't celebrate, a relaxing 3 day weekend! My dd was so excited christmas morning when she learned we are definitely going on a cruise, and that I had already booked the dolphin swim, snorkeling with the stingrays and parasailing on castaway key. now we can start gettiing excited!

Thanks for the info. I hadn't thought about checking availability. It's good to know that it might not be as crowded on the ship.

And YES - thank goodness everyone doesn't have the same week off for Spring Break. That would be a mess. We used to have off a week in Feb and a week in Apr. - it worked out so much nicer than just the one week in March.

Yes, this topic has been discussed many times but the search does not give me the answers I need. I apologize in advance....the folks on this board are always so helpful and patient with repeats! Some details....we are on the Magic 3-24-07 (spring break) and a family of four (2 adults and two kids 10 & 13).

1. I want to book the Couuntry Inn and Suites and a car probably from Avis. My question is how does one get from the Avis office back to the CI&S? Does their shuttle stop at different hotels and is the shuttle free? (I assume it is...but you know the saying!)

2. Are there any family restaurants within walking distance of the CI&S? We want to return the car the night before the cruise.

3. Does Avis run a shuttle post-cruise back to the rental office? We will need a car to get back to MCO. AirTran keeps changing our flight time and as of now, we depart at 11:50 am!! How much time do we need to get off ship, shuttle to Avis, drive to MCO, return car, and make the flight? (Trust me, I will be contacting AirTran to discuss why my flight changed from 1:20pm to 11:50am, but that story is for another time.)

Thanks all...see you in three months!

I booked Captain Marvin's today!-Half day so we'll see you there.

ISCRK-Don't know all of th answers to your questions. From what I've read I don't think it is recommended to walk to the restaurants-busy highways I guess. We took the Avis shuttle form the port to Avis. Don't know if it goes to the hotels. The rental office was fairly busy after disembarkation-we were still at Downtown Disney around 10-10:30. I think Avis has a program for frequent renters that may get you through the line quicker. They had a seperate line for that-no wait. Have you looked into a limo or van service-this would eliminate waiting for the shuttle and then waiting for the car.

Just got back from the warm weather at WDW (it was like March). Now we are looking forward to our cruise. DD14 (minnie328) got reservations to Palo for us.:cool1:
We will be staying at the Country Inn and Suites on Friday, as well. Our plan is to drop the car off on Saturday morning and take the shuttle back to the port.
AirTran changed our flights over the holidays twice, but it worked out OK.
With a flight at 11:50, based on our past experience, you should be alright. Just get off the boat right away and catch the shuttle. It will help if you get a porter for your luggage, as they find the luggage quickly and get through Customs right away.
