3/24/07 Western Magic

We'll be on with DS 10, DD 6, DS 6

I think this cruise is very full, many categories they claim are GTY only. I've been trying to change our connecting rooms with no luck, I checked the cabin reviews too late and think we'll have a lot of noise. Two CMs have said that the only connecting rooms are Cat 10.

I didn't try to book Palo til last week, got brunch Key West day and dinner but no high tea. We haven't decided on any excursions yet.

We also have reservations Fri for Country Inn but United keeps bumping us to later and later flights so we may just stay near the airport.

Just joined. We are looking forward to this trip. We booked it on-board during out first DCL cruise--Eastern 10/15/05. DH and I just told DS8 (will be 9 before the cruise) and DS6 about it on Christmas (very expensive Christmas present :santa:), so they are excited too. DS6 said it wasn't fair for us to keep it a secret so long. I asked him if it wasn't fair that he was going on a second Disney cruise. He said no. I knew that we couldn't tell them about it more than a year in advance!!

Welcome Readyalready - I'm from Denver also, and personally can't wait to get out of this cold and snow and get on the boat! hi everyone - just 10 weeks to go! sounds like there will be a bunch of us seeing the stingrays with Captain Marvin. I have an 8 yr old dd and was wondering if anyone's daughter - or son - of similar age would like to "meet" her by pm-ing. We did that the last cruise and it was nice to know someone when we got to the terminal. For selfish reasons, I'm hoping she'll find a friend and want to go to the club sometimes.:)

Hi
We are sailing on the 3/24/07 Western Magic too. We are 2 families:
myself, DH, DD14, DD11, DD8
friends- DH, DW, DD12, DS8
I have read many posts over the last couple months. This is my first post.

Hey everyone!!
Sorry I haven't been on here in awhile, but I just updated the official DISsers list for our cruise, so if I left you out or typed in your information wrong, PLEASE PM ME! :) (the list is on the first page):dance3:

we are coming too. first time cruise for us, so i'm reading as many of these posts as i can for all the tips.

we are dh (typing) dw dd 9 and ds 6.

current temp here in WI is 17 with a wind chill of 2! can't wait to warm our our frozen bones in the carribean sun.:beach:

Only two months left until we board a plane on our way to Port Canaveral!!!
Warm weather and sun!
Can't wait!:beach:

Here are what we have booked so far (myself and dd age 8)

Key West - Butterfly and Nature Conservatory with Aquarium - not too excited with this one but I do want to see some of Key West. After that I have the Aroma Stone Therapy Massage - can't wait for that one!

Grand Cayman - We are doing the 10:30-3:00 Seven Mile Beach Break - looks like a lot of you are doing Capt Marvin's Stingray but my daughter did not want to do that.

Castaway Cay - We are doing the 9:30-10:30 Parasailing. My daughter did this for the first time at Disney Contemporary last year and loved it! Then I have a cabana massage at 2.

Does anyone know if more spa times open up the closer you get to the sail date? On my first available day to book all that were available were during the show times (we have late seating) - I am hoping they hold some back.

Just a reminder, we will be at Universal starting the Wed before we sail if anyone is going to be there an interested in meeting up.

WOO HOO!!! Only 60 days left! :cool1:

Just had to see my ticker say '2 months until Disney Cruise'.

What is everyone doing in Cozumel?? I booked the beach excursion through Disney, but it costs alot of $$$$. I am thinking it might just be better to go to the beach on our own.

We're doing the Fury trip catamaran snorkel/beach trip. It got great reviews in the Passporter.

Go Bears!:cheer2:

We are also from NW IN and on this same cruise. Wondering from what part of NW IN you are from.

Has anyone done a beach excursion on their own in Cozumel? Can't decide which on to do. Anybody have an opinion?

Less than 2 months now!! Woo hoo!
It's COLD here and I can't wait to get to warm weather! :cheer2:

I haven't done a beach excursion on my own in Cozumel (and am going to Xcaret this time) but I have read good things about paradise beach.

www.paradisecozumel.com

We are doing the royal dolphin swim at Chankanaab (sp? -I never get it right), but I have also heard good things about Paradise beach. You might want to look at the cruise critic message board. They usually have good ideas.

Oh NO! Delta just changed our flights AGAIN! Now we have a one hour layover in Atlanta and get to Orlando at 11:23 AM morning of the cruise. Any thoughts on if I should tell them to get me down there on Friday? One hour layover in Atlanta sounds chancey to me. Depending on weather etc. hmmmm HELP?!

Of course, if everything went perfectly, you could be on the ship by 1 PM . . . but it would make me nervous to count on everything going perfectly. That's the reason we decided to get in Friday evening rather than take the first nonstop flight out on Saturday (which, if everything had gone perfectly, would have landed before 10 AM!). If you can get Delta to switch you to Friday, I think it would be worth the one night hotel cost to have peace of mind.

I would definitely try calling Delta to see if they can switch you to Friday. The first cruise that we took on Disney was in October 2001 and our original flight was direct from O'Hare to Orlando. But after 9/11, all of our flights changed and we had to stop in Atlanta before getting to Orlando. We had booked everything through Disney, so we figured if we got in late they would wait as long as they could. We did end up making it there by about 1:30 - 2:00. But this time I just did not want the worry (or the Disney airfare price!), so we are flying down on Friday morning. I'm using Hilton points for our hotel on Friday night, so that is even free. We do have the car rental - but it is way cheaper than the Disney transfers that we paid for last time.

Good Luck - Hopefully you can switch things around.
