2022 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival (July 14 - November 19, 2022)

Sigh so I am starting to think that special events are long gone
It' SO sad....I miss the good old days when Disney actually DID something! they charge extra for everything else why not get some really good stuff out there now. I miss the tastings and the glitz from senses etc....Do you think it's all due to Covid or just because they are too cheap?

I'm not sure what to think. I think the lack of a dedicated festival center factors into things as well. I have to think the events were profitable, but they had scaled them way back even pre-pandemic. If Disney chooses not to continue the events (which would be such a shame) I hope that the individual third-party-operated restaurants like La Hacienda, Via Napoli, Monsieur Paul, Takumi Tei etc. resume hosting their special meals.

Any guesses when the menus will be released? We are only a month out from the start as of tomorrow!!!

Hoping to see the return of PftS.

Yes, that is the way it currently appears! :(

Still hoping the food and wine lunches return, but not really hopeful. Last year, the Festival was fun, but not having the special events was clearly missing.
Came over to this thread hoping that there would be rumors of special events and PftS returning. No rumors. Sadly, it seems Disney is not interested in arranging for these interesting events. I feel they want to do the low-hanging fruit: sell some cupcakes or a meal and you get “viewing” (which you can get without). It’s unimaginative and sad.

I would agree. We always enjoyed walking into the festival center. Whether for a tasting, looking at art, tasting wines or seeing what was available. The whole festival seems to missing something without that. As well as missing a whole lot of other things.

So, no PFTS this year? Is it official they aren’t doing it?

Also, what about the gaps in Eat to the beat? Less than 30 days away for some of those blank dates in July!

No news which is probably not a good thing. I've mentally prepared for F&W to just be an extended F&G Festival

Tell me about it... those are our dates! I guess at least we won't need to try to work around what we don't know about at least.

Has anyone done the Remy hide and Squeak in past years? A family member would like to gift my kids this experience but is adamant on having the actual map for them ahead of time. If she pays for them at Epcot in August and gives them the maps, can they redeem them for the prize in sept or would they need a reciept or something to show? It’s a cute present idea but I don’t want her to waste her money or for the kids to be disappointed if they can’t actually win the prize

They could redeem the maps when they went in September, the cast member stamps them as redeemed when they give the guest the prize. As the festival goes on, there are sometimes less options available prize-wise as they run out. September should still be fine. Most people wouldn't know the difference, but we on the Disboards know things.

This is why I come to you oh wise oracle!
