Me again (sorry!) I tried reading through about the main building deluxe rooms, and I'm confused! My reservation says: Room Type: Main Bldg - Deluxe Room - Club Level
but the only room that shows up when I search the reservations (multiple, different dates) now is: Main Bldg - Deluxe King Room - Club Level
There's no deluxe room without the king anywhere now. Are these two different types of rooms?

Does anyone have any recommendations on room requests I should make? I'm not sure what is different about the deluxe rooms, besides the size? What kind of rooms and views are available under the deluxe category? Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it! I'm trying to research as much as I can but appreciate the help!

Thats great, I didn't have any problems but if I did that would be great.

I did ask for a glass of wine and a beer for my DH one night after it was all gone and they weren't too happy with me, but did get them. The night after that we went to Miznor's because I was embarrassed to ask again, which is crazy for what we were spending, but much easier. We never bothered the staff, we were always dressed properly and actually rare ate or drink anything up there. Like I said the times for offerings just didn't work for us, we did have breakfast and we did grab a scone leaving for the parks one or two days.

I am glad you came across much more helpful staff, everyone seems to. I didn't bother them, so I don't know why they were that way, the entire hotel has such lovely staff, we just were kind of ignored but it was fine.

Everyone LOVES RPC and did love the main building especially when it was raining, maybe one day we'll try again.

Gosh, Wishes, I am also sorry to hear that you experienced those feelings when requesting the drinks! You are right...at those exorbitant rates, there should be NO problem having reasonable requests met!!

I hate to say but I had a similar experience. I've been at cr/WL/ poly/ gf in RPC and SL. The only negative experience has been RPC. They act like I am bothering them for a glass of wine at 1:30pm!!!! After running around all day with dd I need that muscle relaxer!!! All the others have been great. Out of 2 RPC stays only one cm was nice.

I have had great CMs at sugarloaf and hoping that's the same this summer :)

Are the times for breakfast, drinks, snacks etc posted in our room at the GF for the club lounge? We want to take advantage of drinks one or two nights.. And breakfast twice...

My family and I are staying in a studio at VGF (renting points) this November. It will be myself, DH, DD (1), my mother and my niece. I have requested a crib for DD but will use the pack and play if crib is not available. My mother will also be renting a scooter. I wish I could afford a 1 bedroom but there was just no way. I am thrilled to stay at the Grand and it will be super convenient with my little one, but I am so nervous about being crammed with 3 adults, 2 kids, a crib (or pack and play, a scooter, a stroller, and our luggage.... I've already heard there is not a lot of storage space so I think I will be living out of my suitcase..... is there anywhere in the studio to put the crib/Pack & Play so that DD has a little privacy, or is a little separated from us when trying to fall asleep? And where will I be able to put the scooter? Panic attack!!

tony609, you will receive all the details of your Club Level offerings in a welcome pack at check-in. You will have a dedicated cast member who will check you in to your room. That cast member is willing and able to answer any questions about your stay.

During our last stay in December, the RPC Lounge times were as follows:

Coffee 6:30am - 9:30pm
Breakfast: 7:00am - 10:30am
Refreshments: 11:30am - 3:30pm
Afternoon Tea: 2:30pm - 4:00pm
Twilight Refreshers: 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Cordials and Dessert: 8:00pm - 10:00pm

I am really sorry to hear that you experienced that when asking for wine/beer! We ask for this MANY times when we are vacationing at Disney, and nobody has ever made us feel awkward for asking...and they shouldn't! You are paying extra for this service.

I am glad you didn't have that experience!!! To be honest I felt that wine and beer should be out most of the day, it doesn't cost much and most people have a few cocktails on vacation at random times of the day!

Thanks my friend, It was actually that way both times we stayed at RPC. So, it wasn't a random experience for me. My DH wanted to kill me, he hates to be embarrassed for something so insignificant, but I heard here on the boards I could ask. The second time we stayed RPC was for our 20 year anniversary and it seemed like the staff knew everyone personally besides us and we were completely ignored. They did my DH a huge favor, it costs him a lot less every year staying in the outer buildings....lol lol!!

I am sorry to hear that, but your the first person to ever say that after I told my story to!!

Any chance of renting a larger studio such as Polynesian? These are the biggest on the property. But I'm assuming you can't get your money back if you are renting. I agree with you, that is a lot of stuff for one room. What about a deluxe room...the extra square footage would help in this situation (deluxe regular rm in the outer bldg, not in the villas section).

Maybe someone else has another suggestion.

We used a scooter for my mom one year at the contemporary, we kept in the hall and it worked fine. The other option the night we had to barge it was to keep it by the elevator there were no issues with either of those options. I'm not sure how the elevator areas and hallways are at GF.

The main building deluxe room is 2 queens and a sleeper sofa and is not bookable online. You have to call for it. There are pictures posted ( I know because I posted them for a dis' er last summer). Should be on page one.

It's a great room. Sue m was also in one last year so pm her if any questions. She has been busy so probably didn't see. OR she is on Pacific time and may see later tonight.

Jenna319, congrats on the VGF stay! My DM rented a scooter during our last two GF trips. She parked it in the hall without difficulty. There was no crowding in the room and it was very easy for Mom to scoot in and out. There are power points at various places in the hallways, which makes overnight battery charging very easy.

Thank you SO much trishadono! I appreciate it. I was so confused, now it makes perfect sense as I did call to make the switch from CR to GF. After looking at those pictures, I think I definitely prefer the triangular room, as it looks like the other one has a connecting door. I also wonder if the room is the same price as the king, and if it's worth calling and seeing if they can switch the category.

We appreciate the new and expanded food offerings at RPC. Nice changes (from larger plates and cloth napkins) since our last stay two months ago. Finally, hard-boiled eggs at breakfast and different dinner menu selections. Mumm Napa has, thankfully, been retained and Fess Parker (Disney Legend) Chardonnay has been added to the wine offerings. Carving station on Sunday and Thursday, too.

The veteran breakfast food server CMs (Marie, Loretta, Gayle and Patty) are on hand for first class service!

[Dear housekeeping: there is no need to replace our soap after a single use!]

All the best! :thumbsup2

Happy to hear this!! Can't wait to have a nice hard boiled egg with my daily morning bagel, with fresh fruit preserves on top! That's one thing I LOVED about GF and AKL, no little individual packages of jelly! And can't forget about tea time, a must do in my opinion. Nothing like coming back to the hotel for an afternoon break and grabbing a cup of tea and a scone.

Anyone have recent experience being celiac and having Club Level. How is that experience. Do they offer any desserts that are Gluten free? Do they have any GF pastries that they put out in the morning? 101 days until my trip and I SO EXCITED!

Does anyone know how connecting doors work? Meaning, are they randomly located in the building, or do certain categories automatically have them? I definitely do NOT want a room that has one. I'm booked main building deluxe queen, and saw pictures in the 1st post of one of two layouts, and the "normal" room layout had one, so I'm not sure if all "normal" rectanglular deluxe rooms have one. Sorry for the potentially very silly question!

MinnieMeep, there is no really silly question. I can tell you that from several RPC stays we have stayed in only two deluxe queens. We had a connecting door in room 4320. The door does allow sounds to carry from the next room, which can be rather disconcerting at times. I would assume that a few more rectangular rooms, such as 4420 and its near neighbours, have the doors. However, I do know that 4422 does not have the connecting door. This is our favourite room.

Thank you for the information!!!!! I sent in my rooms requests: no connecting door, and 4th floor if possible.
