2013 dates

I keep trying to not read this thread but it's very hard to resist! ;)

I wish they would just tell us when the itineraries of the Magic and the Wonder will be released. I wouldn't even care if it was May or June ..... OK I lie, I would care, but at least we'd have a definite date to wait for.

Personally I'll be gutted if the Wonder doesn't return to Alaska in 2013. We're planning a big holiday for the family that summer and we're all looking forward to going there.

Yes, this thread is addicting! I keep hoping for some news, a real tidbit...something. Even if they'd just say, "OK, we'll announce them in [insert date]" so we'd at least know something.

Maybe I should just go to WDW and ask a bus driver? :lmao:

Dec 2012 for the Wonder is now only showing 1 MR cruise for the month, so I think something is up and maybe at least an opening of the first part of 2013 for the Magic and Wonder will be soon.

So will DCL at least email me to let me know my very much desired Christmas 2012 cruise is canceled and what they are going to do with my deposit money?

I have heard that the 2012 MR cruises in December are cancelled. You can get your deposit money back. But you may get an extra incentive if you move your deposit to another cruise (that's been rumored.)

From the cancellation thread:
"Guests who are currently booked on one of these sailings will need to move their reservation to another available sail date of a 7-night or longer sailing. If guests move their reservations by 12/22/11, they are eligible for an onboard credit, in addition to any that they may already qualify for. For the 12/09/12 and 12/16/12 sailings, guests will receive a $250 onboard credit. For the 12/23/12 and 12/30/12 sailings, they will receive a $500 onboard credit. If guests do not move their reservation by 12/22/11, they will automatically be placed on the 12/02/12 Mexican Riviera sailing."

I would bet money on Dec 23rd being the day they release the new Wonder/Magic schedules. Of course I could be wrong as well. In the past when DCL has made a big change such as this and had a deadline (reclassified rooms), the new schedule was just after the deadline.
My best guess.

Pity, because it would have been nice for those who wanted a cruise to have the choice of a PC cruise. But if you're right, delaying that decision until it is released would mean the loss of a lot of money.

It would be easy for someone to move their date to a November cruise as a dummy date place holder then if a PC is released for that timeframe, switch it to that cruise.

I think there is going to be a shedule redo. There has been a survey out there about a few different cruises. I think they will try out the 3/4/5 night cruises that they have been surveying passengers about. As someone who lives 20 min north of the port of L.A. I am very sad that they might be leaving, but I keep telling myself it is a might. It will stay that way untill 2013 comes out. I have a feeling they will be around the west coast still.

Well now that my head has cooled off let me offer this thought. I have noticed that no one here has mentioned something very importaint. If they were to leave before Jan 1 of 2013 they would be in violation of there contract with the Port of Los Angeles. Violating that contract would not be their best interest. First it would probably cost them a lot of money to break the contract, and two, if they did break the contract they probably would not be welcome back. That would make it harder to come back and offer more Hawaii cruises and do forth. Also maybe they are reworking the ports of call to make it more appealing. So I am just throwing this out there as food for thought.

Forgive me if this question has already been answered elsewhere - but I seem to recall that certain multiple repeat past guests get first dibs on reservations when the new dates come out. So when they finally release the dates, will everyone see them, but only a few be able to book, or will they not release to the general public at all until the past guests get a shot? And how long will we have to wait from when they release to the past guests and when we (i.e., the general public or someone like myself who has only sailed DCL once before) get a crack at the dates?

Thanks

Generally, Gold and Platinum CC members get a few days before the dates of special itineraries are announced to the general public. I don't believe that perk goes for routine cruises.

It is on all new itineraries that Gold and Silver get advance booking privilage. The returing itineraries are published to all at the same time. :)

Thought I saw 5 cruises with only 1 still available, could be the others are sold out.
