2013 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Fun & Friends: Don't Post Here- New Thread Started

I am so excited, we are going to be staying at the Yacht club from Aug 29 thru Sept 2. This will be our first time staying there, anything special I should know about it that I might not know already (we are Disney regulars, just haven't stayed at YC/BC before)

I booked it mainly because of Stormalong Bay, and my husband picked it, my favorite is Boardwalk Inn, but since his birthday is the week before, I let him pick.

You can learn a lot about the resort from the first page of this thread. Dee has done a wonderful job with her facts pages. :)

The most important thing you need to know about the Yacht Club and Beach Club are the secret exits from the resort to the boardwalk. There is an exit door for the Yacht Club that puts you about as close to the boat dock as you can get from the resort. BWI doesn't have any exit doors onto the boardwalk.

Alright let's try this. This was around noon from my chair at SAB. Sadly about 20 min later the pool was closed due to storms

Thanks for all of your posting efforts & everyone who helped! Not crowded at all! Our plan of attack is early park time-swim by 1-2...classic summer touring plan. I was worried others would be thinking the same way, but from the looks of it, it's not too crowed at all!
Last time we stayed at BC there were highs of 65 & lows in the 30's. This felt like a waste of a great pool, so we are looking forward to trying again!

Hello YC/BC people! I've been trying to wade through the first few pages of important posts to get ready for our first "real" stay at YC next month (we stayed for 2 nights in 2011 without park tickets, so it doesn't count :)). Lots to try to remember! Any big important things I shouldn't miss? Thanks!

Sorry I missed you at the pool. By the time I got my 3 pairs of water wings on it started raining and it took me another half an hour to pry them off. Hopefully I will see you tomorrow!

Hey everyone :) I am in need of some help. This will be our first stay at the YC GV CL and wondered what were some of your favorite places to eat. Also, I have read about the cruise for the fireworks and also wanted to know if it was worth the extra expense:confused3 I am trying to plan this trip the best I can. This trip is in celebration for my DS(12)...Thank you so much for your help :thumbsup2

We always eat at Cape May Cafe for dinner. It is our favorite restaurant at WDW. Breakfast is good, too.

That's my spot at SAB!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

So happy to see your photo and thanks so much for posting!! I'm usually enjoying lots of pool time at our neighborhood pool with our three boys this time of year, but temps are crazy low. They were shivering for swim team picture day this morning! Sorry to hear about the storms at WDW, but hope they are clearing and that you're enjoying your trip!

Good morning!

Another great day at BC
Weather isn't great though. We wew
Actually chilly in MK last night. Supposed
To warm up later in the week. Got
To talk to teens yesterday

Crowds aren't as bad as usual it seems
We were able to do everything we wanted
At MK yesterday including the new Ariel
rise and ETWB. Dinner at Bog was
wonderful. Definitely worth it

Today we hit DHS at rope drop!

Having my morning coffee on my balcony
right now, so Dee I'm thinking of you

Scott you are exactly right. This is my
favorite room and the third time we've
stayed in it. Last year we were next door

I will try and check in again

Let me know if you guys have any questions

I agree with Robyn, weather is less than stellar ... Certainly not typical FL inJuly ... I too felt cool the last 2 nights even drove over to outlets yesterday and picked up a pair of crop jeans. Watching the kids in the lazy river now with my towel "blanket" over my legs.

Also agree the crowds seem very light for this time of year. Went to dinner at Flying Fish last night at 6:30 & it was half full at best. Walking around to Boardwalk we would be only people on path sometimes.

Got to see & talk with Teena yesterday! She is too sweet and the BC is lucky to have her.

The floats are definitely available for anyone to use. Just floating in lazy river. Kids life jackets are available on a stand by lazy river between restrooms behind HH & where gift shop used to be. Lockers that used to be in that same area are gone.

Hoping this rain goes away soon, want to see some sun!

Hi BC folk!

We are on our way back to BC for my actual 40th bday! I told my DH that I would be at BC for my actual bday even of it meant I'd be there by myself if I had to be. :). He finally gave in...

Hmm . . . maybe that should have been my approach this year, too! But given the fact that I'm celebrating by going to my two favorite places this year (WDW in January and 2.5 weeks in Southern CA in August) I'm a happy camper. But BC on your actual 40th sounds wonderful! Happy Birthday!!!

Bob Update: Still swollen and red but today is the first day his voice sounded normal. He still is weak. We go back to doctor tomorrow morning. From what I hear from other people, this is to be expected. It's a big deal operation and one person told me their mother wasn't back to feeling fine for two weeks. We are both very anxious to get the all clear for Monday's trip to Newport Beach!!!
!

Hugs to you and Bob, and safe travels to all of you! We'll be thinking of you on Monday!!! :)

Can someone help, I can't find the post about secret exit to boardwalk or the secret entrance to Epcot. I must be overlooking them.
