I never heard that Target was not opening for Black Friday. What Target said was that they would not be participating in the price wars that they have in years past. They will still be open and they will still have a sale; they are just no longer interested in the back and forth with them and Wal-Mart and to a lower degree Toys R Us and K-Mart.

At a recent meeting involving a competitor of Target, it was said that Target was going to equip the stores with WiFi so customers could download ads for Target to match. Target would not have specific Black Friday ads and would instead focus on matching the ads of competitors.

My husbands Target just got free customer WiFi this week.

Target hasn't released that information to the stores yet. It will either be 10:00 on Thursday or midnight. Last I heard was that the stores would know on November 5th.

Just posted link to Ace Hardware. I am kind of glad this year there is nothing I really need to get on BF. My mom and I just enjoy spending the time with each other shopping. I personally don't like all of the time changes that stores are doing. I liked it when they staggered their opening times so you could go from one to the other.

that will be awful! When would you eat dinner? It was bad enough last year when they opened at midnight. My mom and I got there at 8pm and were about 20 people back. If they are opening at 10 then we would have to get there at 6? yeah, I don't know about that. We'll have to see if there is anything in the ad that's worth waiting for.

I went to Sears last night, and heard that they'd be opening at 8pm Thanksgiving. Tonight at Best Buy, two of the employees were fairly sure about a midnight opening. On the "holiday month" store hours, they have thursday as closed and friday left blank.
