Hi everyone! We're back from our week long stay (8/24-8/31) at the Yacht Club and what a great time we had!
We were warmly greeted at the door (we took a limo from the airport - very fun), and we immediately loved the calm, peaceful lobby. It was so nice after our days at the busy parks to come back to peace and quiet! After a snag at check in - 1) cast member at the check in desk had a very thick accent - I didn't understand much a what she said and I'm not sure she understood my Boston accent very well either - and 2) room wasn't ready until 4pm - and when we finally got in there, we had a chair instead of a daybed (we are a family of 5, and I did ask at check in if there was a day bed) - we got to our room 2009. I admit, I wasn't very nice about it when I got back to the front desk. Sorry to the poor front desk cast member who got the brunt of my travel fatigue.

It was a corner room, with both a wall of windows and a full balcony. (Sorry, no room pics) I was amazed by how much storage space we had - way more than the Polynesian. Beautiful crescent lake view, right across from the boardwalk. We had a great view of the fireworks from our balcony, better than the bridge near the beach club! It was many long winding hallways from the lobby - but right near the bridge to the Boardwalk and the walkway to DHS. We loved it.
We had wonderful housekeeping, met lots of friendly cast members, enjoyed the Captain's Grill and Beaches and Cream. Breakfast offerings are the Ale & Compass were small in variety (Croissants, bagels, toast and muffins) but suited me just fine.
The kids and hubby loved the pool! Hurricane Hanna's was yummy - except for the bees everywhere! I'm amazed I didn't get stung. I know they were trying to fix it - I saw a team of suits in front of it talking about solutions.
Bus transportation was very quick, and the MK bus only shared with the Beach club (Animal Kingdom shared with everyone, however, that was a long ride back). The boat was hot and slow, but better than walking in August heat!
We had great meals at Via Napoli, Le Cellier, Cinderella's Royal Table and Chef Mickey's, but the overall favorite was the ESPN club! My favorite night was a fireworks cruise out of the Contemporary - pricey but worth every minute - it felt like we had a private viewing of Wishes and the EWP.
Weather was hot, hot, hot but only one afternoon was a washout at the pool- otherwise the thunderstorms passed quickly.
Next time I think we'll try the Boardwalk. Although we loved the Yacht Club more than the Polynesian (and we did love the Poly), we kept finding ourselves hanging out on the Boardwalk for one reason or another (usually the pizza window).
Thanks to everyone on this Thread! I couldn't have had such a great trip without you all!

Any questions, ask away!
