2011 Yacht & Beach Club FAQ, Part III- DO NOT POST HERE- Summer/Fall

Question, what is the difference between YC and BC? Seems like you can have a full balcony at YC where as at the BC you are more than likely not going to have one. No qick service place at YC, but you can quickly reach the Marketplace. Just wondering if there is something else missing.

Pretty much covers it. Only other thing is that the lobby of the BC has TEENA a couple of days a week when she's not out taking care of Princess Lilly.

OK, well not really official, but it is what we compiled to use on page 1 of this FAQ thread to respond to this question.

The Beach Club and Yacht Club are similar resorts in terms of service and amenities, and have equal access to the shared pool complex, health club and video arcade. Both resorts have the same management team in place.

Some minor differences have been noted by guests:

Beach Club
Lighter, beachy decor in lobby and rooms
Lobby can be active and lively with families waiting for meals at Cape May
Closer to EPCOT and Marketplace Gift Shop
Approximately 50% of rooms in all room categories have full balconies. The remaining are standing balconies.

Yacht Club
Darker woods and nautical decor in lobby and rooms
Lobby is more serene
Convention attendees are more likely to be booked at YC
Closer to Hollywood Studios and Friendship Boats
Most rooms have a full balcony


What katesdad said is true and is one of the big plusses of BC!

BTW- I have heard from Teena and she and Jeanne are super duper busy out in Vegas with the start of school, so they haven't had time to pick up a camera. Hopefully we will see some new pictures soon!!!

Here at BC ... Got here Friday of last week and we Love it !!! Hope we can get home on Friday as many people still here are stuck from Irene ... Will post a full report when at home but wanted to say thanks for all the info from everyone here !!!

Sorry- it hasn't been posted on Build a Better Mousetrip yet. I just checked and nobody has sent an activities for September, either. I will be checking a few times a day over the next few days to see if the movie schedule is up.

It was wonderful!!! I really can't say enough positive and wonderful things about the BWI/BC/YC IPO. They were so helpful - great attention to detail, sent price estimates, confirmed the prices, went all over the place to get the items, came up with additional ideas that were great. In the end, we had pirate Mickey ear hats, pirate Mickey plush, strings of beads, pirate medallion necklaces, swords, rice krispie treats and treasure boxes with pirate maps, eye patches, pirate earrings, etc. But most of all, they were so excited about all of this - especially Omar. Omar explained how it all works and how they would work with the CL CMs to set it up on arrival day. Yay IPO!

I have to second that comment about Omar. We haven't even made it down there yet (yay....16 days to go!!!!!) but he has been super helpful setting up a nice surprise for my DH when we arrive to celebrate our Anniversary. I'm sure it's all going to turn out great!

Sounds like you had an awesome surprise for the boys, I can see why they didn't wait long enough for a picutre

I thought that I would let you all know that we arrived home yesterday. We decided to rent a car on Monday and drove home. We left Tuesday around 4.30am drove to VA stayed with friends overnight and got home yesterday around 5 pm .

I will write a little review once I have time to digest the mass of branches and tree limbs in my yard .

But let it be known, I loved ever minute of my extended trip! 11 days at the YC was awesome!!!!!!

Our trip is at an end, so sad! We had a wonderful 7 nights at POR, and a spectacular 5 nights at BC It was our first stay in an Epcot resort, and wow! It did not dissapoint.

Our room was wonderful and we could even see the higher Illuminations from our Full balcony!

The staff was fantastic, and SAB was just as good as I've heard.

If only I could have found the seceret mousekeeping closet so I don't have to leave

I saw the address for communications w/ the mgmt @ the YC a few pages back.... is there a listing somewhere for the same info for the BC by any chance? I'm overdue in drafting my complimentary letter for our trip this past July and would like a few of the exemplary CM's we encountered to get the recognition they deserve

Ditto! We received outstanding service and attention from ALL the cm's at the BC, August 11-14. I will never stay anywhere else again when travelling to WDW

Mim Flynn is the GM of both YC and BC. The address below would be fine, or for the BC you could change the street address to 1800 Epcot Resort Blvd, but I think the letter would arrive at either address.

I think there is also a general Disney Guest Communications address listed on the FAQ section on page 1 of this thread.
