2011 Yacht & Beach Club FAQ, Part II

Thanks for the welcome Mike . I saw the great viewing info for Illuminations at the beginning of the thread and I can't wait to be able to see parts of it from the hotel.

We are arriving on July 4 and DHS actually has a special fireworks display that night for the holiday, separate from Fantasmic. I don't really feel like dealing with the crowds in the parks that night and was wondering if we'd still be able to have a good view of them outside the park.

We were at BC for the 4th of July in 2007 and 2009. In 2009 we had were eating at Rose and Crown on the 4th. I remember being able to see some fireworks from DHS from EPCOT. I believe these were the special 4th of July DHS fireworks. I'm guessing (and this is only a guess) that if we could see some from EPCOT you will be able to see them from BC too.

I would assume this too. Since I saw IllumiNations fireworks from Fantasmic, I'm assuming they would be able to be seen in the opposite direction as well depending on where you are standing.

Here now! We are in the 3700 rooms and can see them working to the left of us, in fact workers just walked by dd on the roof haha! We got the full balcony but we only see roof and the top of the boardwalk.

Just wondering what catagory room you booked?

I've decided to finally come out of lurkdom in this thread to officially subscribe and say hi!

I will be at the BC with my family (DH, DS age 9, DS 7, DD 4 and DD 2) from July 26-Aug 2, so it looks like I will just miss the Dismeet We are staying in a garden room and I've requested a full balcony *crosses fingers*. This will be my family's first trip to Disneyworld and sadly, probably our only time to stay at the BC since we will no longer be able to fit in one room after our youngest will turn 3. I've been planning and saving for this vacation for nearly 2 years and I only have 50 days left to wait!

I just wanted to say thank you so much to all the posters who have contributed to this thread. The photos are wonderful and I feel like I've already fallen in love with the BC without having stayed there yet. Feel free to add me to the July list. Thanks!

I'm a "lurker" too! The information is great, for sure- especially for those of us who are first-timers! This will be our second trip to DW, but first onsite stay. I can't believe how much information is out there- my family members think I'm crazy-obsessed right now. They just don't get the efforts it will take to make sure every little detail is taken care of. The disboards make it so easy! I second the "thanks" to all the pictures and info on this thread!

I just wanted to say please keep forever11709 on the list for July 7-14th. Since we are driving down, we will be stopping at the store before arrival to pick up a few items we'll need so I will either wait and pick some up some JUMBO noodles for us then or pack them in the car like last year.

We're a total of 10 so we'd need more noodle cousins anyway so now both families can enjoy SAB in style that week.

DH is here for a convention so I think we got the worst room lol! We are at the end of the hall so it winds around quite a ways from the elevator. The pool noise is awful. We have never spent the afternoon at s resort but now we have a toddler and she wasn't able to nap. So we have the pool noise without the view.

I can't remember what the hairdryers are like at YC. Are they the kind mounted on the wall or the kind you plug in yourself? The wall ones are never powerful enough for me. Debating if I need to pack my own.

They provide the plug in kind, it will be in a bag under the sink or in the closet, it seem fine to me.

Sweet, today is our 41 day mark. Maybe we will cross paths at SAB. I will be the exhausted Dad being dragged over and over again onto the the Flying Jib slide by an energetic boy (11) and girl (8).
