Have a wonderful trip Teena! I hope it's a good escape from all the radiation you've been enduring.

We will be coming to the YC/BC for the Christmas Season. I know most of the big ticket items not to miss, (Candle Light Procession, Osborne Lights, MK Christmas party) but what about the events that are just for the Christmas Season. This will be our first time at the YC/BC. The other times we have stayed at the GF or WL. What should we not miss? All information is a real plus to us.:santa:

Teena,

Have a safe trip, and remember to take it easy while your there!!!!

For everyone else who is getting ready for your trips - Have A Good Time :thumbsup2

I meant to post this after our trip was over, and forgot:

To those parents of younger kids, please be very careful around the pool area. Those who have not been to BC/YC yet, the pool is VERY LARGE!! The kids can get away from you so fast, as we saw with one 4 year old who got away from his, decided to go up the slide stairs and come down the slide BY HIMSELF. Needless to say, he couldn't swim yet and the lifeguard had to save him.

After he was saved, a parent sitting near us in the "Whirlpool area" had to help him find his parents - who were looking all over. When they told them what had happened, the mom just broke down in tears. I felt so bad for her.

The lifeguards there are AWESOME:thumbsup2 They saved 2 kids in less than 20 min. one day.

There was a third little girl (in the same day) who was a good swimmer, but very tiny. Her parents were far away in their lounge chairs. She decided to try and swim around the "Whirlpool Area", and the current kept taking her away from the side of the pool. A very nice mom (not hers, mind you) jumped in and pulled her out after she started yelling help!!! The current is much stronger than you think, and for little kids it is very hard for them to hold on.

Well, that's it. I just wanted to give a heads up, even though I know that the Moms on this thread are the BEST ever, sometimes we need a reminder.

DH is here for a convention so I think we got the worst room lol! We are at the end of the hall so it winds around quite a ways from the elevator. The pool noise is awful. We have never spent the afternoon at s resort but now we have a toddler and she wasn't able to nap. So we have the pool noise without the view.

So sorry about the pool noise, I thought your room sounded nice until you said about all the noise

Have a safe and wonderful trip

Thanks for the info. This will be our first trip to YC(well 1st stay been to B&C many times & dreamed of staying there one day). While I am not one to ever let my children go far from me in the water or anywhere in public, I am glad you posted this so we can let our kids know how strong the current is. In pictures it doesn't look that strong but we know it is. Thanks again

does anyone know if the admiral or commodore suites has a large refrigerator? the disney description says mini fridge for one suite, full refrig for captains deck, but just refrig for all the others.

yes, i could call reservations, but sometimes their answers are wrong. besides, this is still planning more or less. thanks!!

I can't remember what the hairdryers are like at YC. Are they the kind mounted on the wall or the kind you plug in yourself? The wall ones are never powerful enough for me. Debating if I need to pack my own.:confused3

This is the dryer that was in my room at the YC in December:

Ditto to the above. I felt that I had to be extra vigilent with the pool there. My 10 yr old is a strong swimmer and did well with everything but I had to keep a constant eye on my 7 and 4 year olds. 7 year old is fair swimmer but is too curious for her own good. 4 year old definitely needs watched. We spent a major amount of his pool time over at the little slide. It definitely kept him contained and he had fun in that little area or in the sandy area.

DH and I weren't able to have a lot of lounging time because we felt we had to keep an eye on the kids and be in the water with them...maybe later in my life when they are older!

OH BOY!!! My boys are 4 and 6 and not really swimmers at all...more like waders. This makes me so scared! I have a huge fear of pools and will be a nervous nelly the entire time. I am hoping I can keep them in the kiddie pool area and they probably won't want to go alone on the slide. I don't like the fact that I can't go down with them or wait at the bottom. I will just have to reinforce pool safety rules.

We have 28 days to go :cool1:, but I have yet to receive my Magical Express tags. The luggage is out, starting to pack and I am stressing over those darn tags!!!!!:scared1:

I'm glad you asked and got answers. I assumed they still had the wall mounted ones, and I was going to bring my own, too!

I agree that the whirlpool current is very strong. I found it is a bit difficult to get out of it with my son who was 4 at the time). Younger kids are best away from the whirlpool.

Well we just got a postcard asking us to do the Beach Club resort survey from our stay 2 weeks ago. I think the only problem we had was that no matter when we left or came back to the room, the room was never made up. We were always the last room it seemed. Our room was the last one but there were only about 8 rooms total and I saw 2 mousekeeper carts.

Also for our december bounceback trip to the Beach Club they only said pool/waterview was available so we took it.

Anyone know if a better rate or room for passholder rate comes out can we switch to that without losing our adrs made with the bounceback reservation? I am thinking we can if it goes right?

Also are any of the pool/water view rooms near the elevator because that is what we requested. Also do the pool/waterview rooms have more full or standing balconys or is about even?

You won't lose the ADRs even if they are "attached" to your reservations. Last year before we decided to stay at Kidani we were booked at ASMu and I made my ADRs with that ressie number. Didn't lose any of them. :goodvibes

Belle summed it up. I'll just add in that the only thing with attaching your ADRs is for your convenience. For examples: being able to book 180 +10 out, being able to have a print-out at your resort of all your ADRs. Otherwise, it means nothing else. As long as you have your confirmation numbers, you're all set!
