I fly out to Jeanne's on August 23rd and fly home September 3rd.

Thank you!!! I just had my CT scan at the radiation place this morning. I start radiation on 4/25.

Sooo glad we changed our trip dates! We were going Aug 23-31. Can't wait to meet you! My husband thinks it's crazy that we know so much about each others lives on this board. Guess he'll never understand:rotfl2:

Thanks for your environmental reminder!!!

I think the original question was prompted by concerns that the air conditioning would shut off during the night if nobody is up and about to set off the motion sensors.

Option number 3, in addition to the balloon or overriding the thermostat is to nudge your husband several times during the night and ask him to walk across the room to activate the air conditioning. :lmao:

I honestly can't remember if this was a problem during our two July stays at the Beach Club, so I am guessing that it is not an issue.

I agree with you that it is best not to run the A/C in a room that will be empty for most of the day.

We stayed at the YC in Sept. last year and I remember waking up a few times because the A/C shut off. I'm trying to figure out if we just set it too high or what. Right now, I am looking forward to sleeping and getting rid of the dark circles under my eyes.

At the BC, at the present time (remember, they are talking about reclassifying some rooms), there are five standard view club level rooms with standing balconies. Of those five, three have two queens and a daybed, one has a king and one has one queen and a daybed. There are no garden view club level standing balconies. There are three water view club level standing balconies and one has a king bed and two have two queens and a daybed. However, a party of five cannot book a water view club level room.

Wow! You are like the jeopardy champ of the BC/YC thread!

Okay so as it stands we are booked in a gv cl room July 16-July 25 and a sv cl room July 25-31. I keep checking every day and so far I was able to switch our sv stay to at least a part time gv stay. I was able to bump my in-laws up to gv too so they do add more rooms sometimes. My plan is to either hopefully be able to change the sv cl stay to gv cl stay or beg to be able to pay the difference at check in and keep our same room!

It's good to know that at least with the gv cl room I won't have to add full balcony to our request! I'll just stick with a daybed request.

Do you think they are going to reclassify the rooms. I still can't get over the fact that the room we loved last year is classified as sv - we thought it had a great gv!

I'll be keeping you in my thoughts on the 25th.

Have a fantastic visit with Jeanne and have a ball at SAB!!!! Make sure you have a sunken treasure for me.

Again, from my notes, which may be suspect:

For NON-CL rooms, I have the following numbers:

12 Standard View rooms with daybeds
1 Garden View with daybed
7 Lagoon View with daybeds

These counts include both the old style and new style- do not know how many of each.

Yes, a party of 5, with all members over age 3, would be guaranteed a room with a daybed. If one of your family members is under 3, you are considered to have 4 members and the daybed would need to be a request (you could also request a rollaway)

HTH!

Those numbers couldn't be correct, could they?

Out of 576 room, only 20 have daybeds?

... and just 1 Garden View room??!!:confused3

We are booked in Garden View and have friends that are a party of 5 ... I hate to think their chances of getting the right size room (one with a daybed) are slim to none!

I've heard the reclassifying of those few rooms is in the works. That could mean tomorrow or next year. Sorry ... I know that's not helping you any.

We are only talking club level rooms at the Beach Club. There are only 73 rooms, 20 of which have daybeds (5 sleepers) and yes, only one garden view club level room out of nine has a daybed.

My bad- I thought the 20 daybed rooms were part of the non-CL rooms, so this was my misunderstanding.

OOO-OOO

I think I have all the info I need to figure the configuration of the rooms in the BC CL wing!!!

But not the time! I have a meeting tonight and I have to work all day tomorrow.

To be continued...

The suspense is killing me :rotfl: I really would like to know :confused3 I'm happy to hear everyone's great news. I have been reading and trying to catch up (again). Only 23 more days to go till we are at the Pop then BC. We check in on Sat May 7 at the Pop for 3 nights then head to the BC on May 10 for 4 nights.
I hope we get to meet Teena. :goodvibes

I'll be working Saturdays and Sundays in May. I start at 9:30 AM. You check-out on Saturday I think so if it's after 9:30 AM, hopefully we'll get a chance to chat!

WORK? When there is BC business to be done!!!!

Seriously, you and Teena are my heroes.

You know it's funny - I think I had the only (now classified) gv cl room with the daybed.

Teena - is it 5636?

I fly out to Jeanne's on August 23rd and fly home September 3rd.

Oh yay - I WILL be there before you leave! Mickey (my daughter) and I arrive on August 2 and stay until the 13th. Then, I'm back for a solo trip in November - for F & W, of course! :)

Silly me! Can you tell I need a vacation? :upsidedow

....Looking forward to this! That thing called "work" gets in the way of a lot of things! :rotfl2: But without it, I can't pay to go back to my favorite place!

Not a problem, Dee. I knew I saw you had listed non-CL so that is why I was like what?!

Of course, my number was incorrect too ... I should have removed the 70 CL rooms from the 576 total. :teacher:

And as always ... thanks for the clarification Teena.

Oh noooooo our flight out of MCO is 11:05 am which means we will have to board the ME around 8:00am. We arrive May 7th (Saturday) so we may have to make a special trip from the Pop to the BC to meet Teena so she can welcome us to the Pop. :rolleyes1

I have a thought that, while not necessarily related to the Beach Club thread, I will find a way to relate it to said thread.

The thought is what is the Peanut going to call Teena and Bob when HE (I voted for a Prince!) starts to talk?

Down South you have your Mee Maws and Paw-Paws but we all know T & B escaped from Jersey so that won't work. Contrary to popular belief, Grand parents in New Jersey are not called Tomato and To-mah-to.

In my family we have Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop who are my Mom and Dad. Evan pretty much picked this one as he couldn't say "Grand Mom" and it just kept popping out as Mom-Mom. I have been know to refer to my Mom as "old Biddy" but she doesn't like that too much and I always get yelled at, so that won't work!

Karl's Mom and Dad were Opa and Oma, which is German. That was easy for a child to say so that is a good choice. When Oma went to heaven eventually we were blessed with Nanny and Opa. Now it's Just Nanny, which is what I called my Grand Mother when I was a kid..... so 2 points for the Nanny name.

I'm sure there are a million other choices so I have no idea what Teena, Bob and Jeanne are thinking. The one thing I am 100% sure on is that just thinking about all this can put a smile on your face. Just think, before you know it, some little angel :littleangel: will be down from heaven and running around in a diaper yelling ________ and ________ when Teena and Bob walk through the door!

So Teena, have you come up with a name yet or are you going to let the baby pick?

Marlton Mom
PS. Did the Resort brand merchandise come in yet? There is the Beach Club topic!

I'll be out of those good pain meds by then so you'll be stuck with a welcome to the Beach Club I'm afraid.
