2010 Mom's Panel Results along with lists of Round 2 & 3 Participants

:wizard:Hi all! Just checking in to say hi. Thanks to everyone for posting their experiences. It's been great to read all of this. Good luck to everyone! :wizard:

Marc, marcmantoo, is our person of the day today (Thursday).:yay:

Introduce your family, your likes, dislikes, jobs, or whatever you want to talk about. Then we can all ask you a few questions and you can spend the day answering us.

Today is Day 5 in the countdown to Reveal day!

Todays general question is:

What is your favorite piece of architecture in Disney that you find under your feet?

My special question for Marc is: When did you first admit or perhaps realize that you were a bit impassioned for Disney?

Kathie, Suzannah, Kaylene, AmandaNC, AmamdaGA, Dannee, Jonas, Gloria, and Sue. of you are welcome to answer too you know.

I will answer my own General question so you all understand what I am asking.
You have heard me complain about the cement in AK but have you ever looked for horse shoe prints outside of the Haunted Mansion? I just marvel at all the little touches that Disney so carefully places in it's parks. Tell me what you have noticed that is under your feet.

I love the variety of animal footprints in the pathways around Wilderness Lodge. It looks like they just crept across the path whilst it was still wet, then you imagine they are still there somewhere, watching you from the bushes and trees .....;)

This is the final interview day ..... GOOD LUCK everyone still awaiting their slot :thumbsup2

and well done to everyone who has already finished their interview - I think you've all probably proved to Leanne and Laura that their final decision is going to be a very difficult one. :)

pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: for everyone's interviews today!

My favorite piece of architecture under my feet is the pathway area behind Spaceship Earth that twinkles at night. I just love to watch it. It sort of mesmerizes me :upsidedow

That was totally going to be my pick! I love those twinkling lights and always say when I design my dream home, I'm going to have a patio like that! (and a ceiling like the bathroom in the Cinderella Castle suite!!)

I also love walking around and reading the bricks in Magic Kingdom. I love finding people that live in towns I know. I really really wish we'd gotten a brick - one of my biggest regrets! :P

OK, Since Sue stole my answer... :rotfl:

I'll have to go with the bridge in the lobby of the Wilderness lodge. You can stand over the small stream that starts there and flows down to the pool. We have to get a picture of the kids there each trip!

Checking in for the first time. Completed my phone interview today. What a thrill! It was such a blur.

Good luck to all of the other finalists!

Welcome, Jonas!! The interview was a lot of fun, wasn't it?!

:) Glad to have you join us here in the waiting room :)

Marc, marcmantoo, is our person of the day today (Wednesday)? :yay:

Hey Twende - I sent Marc a message on twitter to remind him he is our victim :) .. .I mean, person, of the day over here! Hopefully he'll pop over today!

Kathie, thanks so much for that. :goodvibes I posted while back and listed the next three victims so I was hoping that would be some warning but we all understand that real life does get in the way of all our passions for Disney!

Jonas, I have Amanda from GA :yay:scheduled for Friday and then your day could be Saturday. I hope that works for you both.

I am really enjoying the answers to today's question. I read your answers and I can visualize that place. I can almost close my eyes and be there!

I love the all the answers.

Sue, I understand what you feel when you see the foot prints at WL. I always expect some wild beast to jump out in front of me! It is usually just my DH or one of my kids but we have had some wild birds encounters too!

Karhie,
We take pics on that bridge but I never knew about the river to the pool. That is something I am going to have to check out this trip!

Oh now EPCOT's lights in the ground. I forgot about those but there really are fun to see. I love kaleidescopes and that area always makes me think of them.

Suzannah, I regret not getting a brick too. Maybe one of these days there will be another opportunity to do so!

For me, the details that Disney uses makes it all the more incredible!:woohoo:

HEY! That's my answer! LOL! But thanks for reminding me! There is so much, I went into brain freeze!

As an aside, was browsing on Youtube this morning and found a piece put together by FigmentJedi that is one of the best videos I have seen and definitely the best 'capture' of the magnificent Tapestry of Dreams Parade ever!

Enjoy!

Continued best wishes to each of you. Each one of you would make a terrific addition to the panel!:wizard::wizard::wizard:

Hey all! :-)
Thanks for making me the person of the day or in the hotseat! I do not have a lot of time to go in depth about myself today. I have a busy day at work, then at church after work (I run sound at my church) and it is my son's 12th Birthday today! :-) So I have a full plate today but I wanted to answer the Question of the Day!

What is your favorite piece of architecture in Disney that you find under your feet? I have two favorites!

The first one is at Epcot and it is the Fiber Optic Lights in the ground near Spaceship Earth that twinkle as you are leaving the Park. Most people do not even notice them under their feet but I like to stand there and watch them for a while because it puts me in a peaceful place! :-)

My second one is a big one because it is all the carpets at the Disney resorts because they all have incredible designs and most of them have Hidden Mickey's and other characters too. If you do not know..... I am a huge Hidden Mickey Fan!

Well I have to go! Hope all of you are having a magical day and best of Luck & Pixie Dust to all the 3rd Rounder's who are having their interviews today!

Marc, Thanks for the update! And more importantly Happy 12th Birthday to your son and Congratulations on the 12th anniversary of your son's first and only real birth day! Birthdays are really celebration days for parents but kids don't realize that until they have their own children!:woohoo:

I was hoping that someone would bring up the resort carpets. They are truly fascinating works of art! ::MickeyMo

You inadvertently tapped into my tomorrow question which will be about Hidden Mickey's. If you are able we would love for you to share your expertise on that topic also!:woohoo:

Love this question, Kim :)

Hmm...I hate to be a "copy-cat", but as you can see from these photos...our family loves the twinkling tiles at Epcot too ;)

Here's Kasi running around and around on the lights, giggling and having a ball...

We always spend a bit of time being mesmerized by the lights, they remind me of pixie dust pixiedust:

I asked a couple of my kids this morning what their favorite "under their feet architecture" at Disney is. My DS-9 said the pathways at AK where he can see animal prints in the sidewalks, bird tracks, etc :) DD-5 absolutely loves the carpet inside Journey Into Imagination that makes animal sounds, etc when you jump on the squares.

Another thing I love is the sand beneath my toes in the Stormalong Bay pool at the Yacht and Beach Club. There's a specific part of the pool, "sinking sands" that I just love having underneath my feet :)

OH, and I never got to answer yesterday's question, as it was a very busy day for me. It's very hard to choose an favorite overall piece of architecture, but I'd probably have to say Spaceship Earth. We all :lovestruc "the big golf ball" :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone :)

:wizard: I just wanted to send out some pixiedust: to Dannee (Disneysunflower) ... her interview is today. I think she MAY be the last of the DIS Finalists to be interviewing.

So pixiedust: to Dannee and everyone else too. :)

Kayleen, Thanks for posting the pictures of the light up area in EPCOT. Does it have an official name? :confused3:lmao:

Your kids are adorable. I have a thing for red heads or any shade with red in it! Oh those curls too! How very precious!

Jud, thanks too for posting that link. I could spend all day on YouTube! What does your brick say? FUIT HI? :confused3

Dannee, Best wishes for your interview today. Put on your Minnie costume and really get into character!

Good Luck Dannee! The Minnie costume might just do the trick!

I'd also like to give an "honorable mention" to the fountain in Downtown Disney that squirts water. It was a favorite of my kids when they were 1 or 2 yrs old. We spent many hours watching them play there!:goodvibes
