2010 Mom's Panel Results along with lists of Round 2 & 3 Participants

A very good one indeed Ms Producer! Hehehehee...

.......Oh! And there is Central Casting... that is unique and wonderful... and probably superior... ya, I will go with Central Casting!

Amen! Egads, that is a nightmare!!! Walking folk have no idea how rough and how steep Disney pathways can be! I had no idea till I was in the chair! It really is an interesting phenomenon!

:)

Okay Jud I will bite...... what is this Ms. Producer label? :confused3:rotfl:
If you are referring to me I am proudly a Mrs. of over 33 years BTW and married to the man of my dreams. I would do it all over in a heartbeat!

You mention Central Casting and to be honest I have never noticed it or perhaps never bothered to take the time to see it. Now I am going to have to look for it. Where is it? :confused3

It really is amazing how many people do not notice the ground under their feet. I guess the visuals are so wonderful up that it is unusual to look down and pay attention to all the details. But AK is defiantly hard on the butt and jarring to the entire body!:scared1: My mother claims it is a thrill ride in it's own right! :lmao:

Oh, Kim, Casting is a BEAUTIFUL building!! It's right across from Downtown Disney, between the Hess station and the SunTrust building - take a peek next time you are there. You can also see it from I-4 if you are heading from the Downtown Disney exit west to the other Disney exits. It's just as pretty from the back!

I found this picture online. Inside is just gorgeous too...I remember the first time I walked in like it was yesterday, completely magical. :)

Hi Zanna!

Help me out here! I always have gotten them confused! That is not the one I meant! Though it does have its own architectural interest: I mean the other one! heheheheee... and I think you know what I mean.

:)

Jud

Zannah, How in the world have I missed that all these years? :confused3
I am going to have to take a gander at it on this trip!
Jud has confused me again! What "other" one?

Try not to worry about anything you said in your phone interview.
I am sure it went well and made sense to them although I will admit that I am dying to know what as asked and what you all said!:woohoo:

Team Disney? Here's a pic of Team Disney. Also an incredible building...I went there a few times for the Company D store that was inside. Really cool inside as well!! I found the pic at this site, which has a ton more pictures of the building. If I recall correctly the big circular part is actually open on the top and from the inside it houses a serene stone garden, that you can see from the inside because the walls are glass in front of that area. That was back in 1995 though and may have changed since then, or I could be remembering wrong too. :)

It was a passing acknowledgment of admiration of your producing/directing skills in this thread. the 'Ms' was simply respect for a female of my limited acquaintance and have been burned... :)

Apparently me too, but everything Zanna said, except it's the other one! hehehehee... I just tried to find a pic of it, but I can't remember the date I did that shoot and didn't get lucky in choosing from my hundreds of folders of Disney pics.

Hehehehehee... okay- maybe I need to do AK with your mom! Who I am sure is a Mrs! :) The thing is, even on a city sidewalk, the human body and mind does such a remarkable job of balancing out everything that the irrelevant stuff goes by without notice. If you truly were aware of every detail of every possible sensory input around you at any given moment, your cranium would literally explode from the pressure of the input! Experiments have been done! So the mind filters out what you need- learned when you were a baby... takes a few years of practice to get these bodies up and running! Most of that is installing and fine tuning the circuitry.

Bingo! We have a winner! Thanks Zanna!

You are correct, oh wise one! And it is also a sun dial on the interior stone garden.

:)

That's right, the sundial! I knew there was something else cool about the big circular part! :D

Jud, No burn to you or offense taken! :) Thanks for the sweet passing compliment!

And yes, my mom is a "Mrs." too. In fact the amazing thing is we will celebrate my parents 70th wedding anniversary on this upcoming trip! No that is not a misprint!

My mom is a thrill seeker and loves to go fast and furious. She gets really upset when we do not allow her to ride RN'R! She still rides everything else!
When she gets bored I take her wheel chair and do 360's with it. She chortles with delight while we do this! :lmao:

WOW! Another building I have not seen! Where is Team Disney?

Is anyone else as clueless about these two buildings as I am?:rotfl::confused3

Amanda please do not fret over your phone interview. Like others have already said, I bet you did just fine. Being an attorney I bet you have a gift for the gab anyway and your brain just went into normal function for you.:goodvibes;)
We will have to stay in touch and see if we can't have lunch together soon. I will be visiting the RDU area frequently and very soon! DD is a manager at a Store/restaurant on the airport loop road. When visiting her, I often sit at one of the tables playing on the internet and people watching. I would love to have lunch with you and talk Disney and learn about your new Panel training as I will be there right after you finish your training trip!:upsidedow

I spend a lot of my day talking to people and answering their questions so you would think that would help me, but this interview just felt out of my element, and I totally fell apart! Oh well, what's done is done, I suppose.

What restaurant does your DD manage? (PM me if you don't want to post it.) Definitely let me know when you're in my neck of the woods next! I met another local disboarder recently, and we had so much to talk about, we were instant BFFs!

Just stopping by to send best wishes to all today.

I have seen the Casting Building. Thought it was nice.

My favorite piece of architecture though (other than Cinderella's castle) is the Morocco Pavilion in WS. Just reading about how the fountain mosaic was recreated piece by piece, walking along the narrow pathways as you do there.
To me it is just perfect.

I do school lessons with my children while we are there - last year Mexican artwork and the Japanese gardens were our focus. This year it is studying the Moroccan Pavilion and Christmas stories around the world. I can't wait! :goodvibes

Thanks, Marci

How interesting, I'll bet that is a lot of fun to do with your children :) I've told my husband on every trip that I want to take our boys over to World Showcase to truly explore the countries. I feel they are at the perfect ages to really appreciate what they are seeing. :)

Have a great time on your trip :)

Hi Twende!

The 'burn' reference was from long ago... back when i did home repair and improvement. One of my few commercial clients was a health club in Boston. One day I had to do some work in the women's locker room and as I was taping a warning strip and sign across the entrance, a lady was coming out. I asked her quite innocently if there were any girls left inside, to which she snarled at me, "You mean women?" (Understand she was pretty buff and could have snapped me in half easily! hehehehee...) I replied, "Members of the female persuasion?"

Why won't you let your Mom do RnR??? It's really not that much... and heck, if she's been married 70 years, (just short of my life expectancy!) heck, let her at it!

:)

Zanna already described perfectly the location of the Team Disney Building! Central Casting, which I incorrectly called it, is a bit further north of it and is more easily visible from I-4. I think it is located east of the shopping center just outside the entrance to the road to DTD. Where Pizzeria Uno and Chevy's Fresh Mex and other places are- forget the name...

Back when the Disney Institute was originally formed, I took an afternoon architecture class/tour of the notable buildings on property. WDW is a virtual museum of many of the most prominent architects of our time. Though I still think Swan and Dolphin was and is a mistake on so may levels...

I also took an animation course with real Disney animators on real Disney equipment!!! Now that was cool! Have a PDF on that available by request to ejud2001@Yahoo.com (with a how to draw a mickey head step by step in it too.) I like drawing- especially cartoon.

:)

Hi Guys! Deep yoga breath for me... I've finished my interview! I was nervous (of course) and my voice shook... but... I think that describes all of us!

I'm ready to start a really, really, really... really, really (that enough yet) week of waiting!!! :goodvibes

Good luck to everyone still to come! You can do it!!!

The Team Disney building is a little further up across from Cirque du Soleil as you head toward Old Key West or Typhoon Lagoon. It'd be on your left also as you head that way. :)

I am refusing to be anything other than positive! Hopefully that came through as well! Too late now to do anything about it anyways !!

You all should be proud too - you've made it this far, out of 20,000 applicants. That is a huge accomplishment. And should be celebrated too :) :grouphug:

I hope things go well for all of us, and by some magic, we all get to meet in just a month!

Oh I definitely am proud...it's a total honor to be where I was yesterday...I'll be happy with that no matter what happens. :lovestruc It was amazing to get that call and talk with everyone - I just always look for ways I could make things better lol!

I can't wait to hear which of us move on and look forward to meeting all of you in the future, whether it's during training or if I'm just visiting the parks when you are! pixiedust:
