2010 Mom's Panel Results along with lists of Round 2 & 3 Participants

Hi all! Jsut checking back in to see how the interviews are going. I know you guys are nervous but I have high hopes for you all! And there is always my :cheer2: for you all!

Hi Amanda! I am in NC too. I have lived here my whole life...I grew up in Hillsborough but now we live in Salisbury (we moved 2 years ago). I miss the triangle soooo much! There are no good places to eat here without driving...but maybe that is why I am losing weight!:lmao: (Really it's the Zumba!)

Again...good luck to you all!

Oh...favorite architecture...has to be Spaceship Earth...I love the angles. It reminds me of some of the drawings I had to do in drafting in HS. They were a pain, but when you were done...I loved the end result of how it all fit together so neatly. ORDER...that is what I like. (don't get it but for a few hours a day...until the kids come home from school!:sad2:)

Good luck on the remaining interviews!

my favorite architecture has to be Cinderella's castle, too! I will finally get to see it in 2 weeks with the Christmas lights!!!

:yay: My interview is over and I thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd chance at a dream of a lifetime. :)

GOOD LUCK to all the rest of you, may ALL of our Disney Dreams come true :)

Nice to have another Tarheel on the thread!

Kathie and Kaylene, I know you're feeling relieved now! Was it easier the second time?

I agree! Having a second chance at this dream is wonderful. I truly am grateful for the opportunity.

I'm also glad to have made so many new friends on the DIS, Facebook, and Twitter. The Disney community is so amazing!:grouphug: I hope I get to meet some of you soon in person!:goodvibes

Oh, I don't know about easier! I still have butterflies in my stomach!

But, having a second chance does mean a lot to me, and I feel proud to have made it to round 3 twice - no matter what happens.:grouphug:

Amanda, seallenz, is our person of the day today (Wednesday)? :yay:

Introduce your family, your likes, dislikes, jobs, or whatever you want to talk about. Then we can all ask you a few questions and you can spend the day answering us.

Today is Day 6 in the countdown to Reveal day!

Todays general question is:

What is your favorite piece of architecture in Disney?

My special question for Amanda is: What is the one snack that you must have on every trip?

Kathie, Suzannah, Kaylene, Marc, AmamdaGA, Dannee, or Sue. of you are welcome to answer too you know.

Dannee,
I completely understand that real life gets in the way sometimes! I am sorry that you felt bad about "catching up". I didn't mean to make you sad!
What is cool is the things we have in common. I love the same song you do and my real passion is medicine. I trained to be a midwife and have helped catch a couple hundred babies. :woohoo: We had a physician who did home deliveries in our area and I traveled with him to many a home. I later taught childbirth classes and have done some patient advocacy work with veterans.
DH and I got our private adult only vacation two years ago although one of our older kids did end up joining us for two days of it.:lmao: I can't wait to do it again!
Our DD, the one who joined us on our trip, almost has your name. We named her after a character and someone from Greek mythology. She was shown in the movie Clash of the Titians as this beautiful woman was was stepping out of a truck that had been thrown in the sea. She was also the mother of Perseus who later slew Medusa. That is Danae.
Our uncommon factor is golf. I grew up living on golf course and I have been around it all my life but the sport itself does nothing for me.

Best luck to Marc, Kaylene, and Kathie during their phone interview this afternoon and to anyone else who has yet to interview!

As for architecture in Disney I love the way they used forced perspective to make things look tall when they really are not. The classic example is Cindy's castle. The other place I love is in Animal Kingdom in Asia. I think it just looks all so very real and that makes it easy to pretend that I am really in Asia instead of Florida!

The only architectural feature that is not liked in our family is the pathways in Animal Kingdom. We have decided that they need to remake a right or left side of all the paths there for people in wheel chairs or scooters without shocks. This pathway need to be smooth. My poor mother hates the constant bump, bump, bump all day in AK!:upsidedow

Oh no, I didn't feel bad for catching up, I felt bad that I had to if the first place. I really go through withdrawal when I can't read and respond on DIS. It felt really good to log in yesterday. I was only being dramatic with the tears!

I was excited to read about your passion for medicine! And your daughter, Danae! It is very nice to learn about everyone and see how much we have in common. :)

My favorite piece of architecture in Disney is the Gingerbread house in the Grand Floridian. Does that count? It is magnificent and I am amazed at the detail.

The one snack that I must have on every trip - Cotton Candy!

Hello Round 3ers!!!

Just wanted you guys to know that we are still reading and lurking! Can't wait for Tuesday! :goodvibes

:) Hi Dannee!!! Now that I know you are a Physician, I  you in your Minnie costume even more!!! :) You must have brought a lot of smiles to your patients that day...and a smile is quite healing in itself ;) Thanks for introducing yourself and best of luck on your interview tomorrow
:grouphug: :)

Yes, I think the office was surprised, but the patients were not. :rotfl:

:thanks:

Ooh, excellent choice! I love the Gingerbread house too!! Every year we go and try to find all the hidden mickeys on it - my kids (and I!!) love that!! I really think it's one of the coolest parts of the holiday decor that Disney does. :D

Checking in for the first time. Completed my phone interview today. What a thrill! It was such a blur.

Good luck to all of the other finalists!

I really believe that everyone did and will do well on their interviews. We have come so far and our fellow Disney lovers have sprinkled us with the most powerful stuff on the planet - pixiedust:

Good luck to all Round Three-ers!

Thank you all for the welcomes. What a thrill of an experience. There are probably several more of us "out there" somewhere.

I am glad the interviews are going well for everyone. Don't let the butterflies fluttering in your tummies get you too nervous. It is almost over!

Favorite piece of Architecture.... That's hard! The Castle and The Contemporary Resort are the first two I think of. If you see either one you think DISNEY!

Welcome DisJPK, :woohoo:

If you will post some information about yourself like a first name and home town, I will add you to our list. I may not get around to it until tomorrow or late tonight but I will get you added.

Another waiting day is almost over. The clock is ticking down! What excitement you all must be feeling. :dance3:
