2010 Mom's Panel Results along with lists of Round 2 & 3 Participants

Here is the Day Two Waiting Day question:

If you could work for Disney anywhere, in what capacity would you be employed and why?

Some people want to run away and join the circus, when I was working for a start-up and things were crazy I would dream about running away from work and getting a job as a Monorail Pilot! Oh, and it has a lot less traffic than the Mass Turnpike (drove it/sat in traffic on it for 7.5 years)

I wanted to post a brief update on my daughter. She is doing better, but can't seem to get rid of the fever. The fever is now on the low side and her appetite is poor, but she is staying hydrated. Praises that her asthma is staying away.:cool1: Hopefully it won't be too much longer. Now I and my son are both sick, but our symptoms are not as severe as hers.

I wanted to thank each and every one of you who took the time to send :littleangel:prayers and positive thoughts our way. It's refreshing to know that there are "strangers" out there who would do such a nice act of kindness for others. I am so thankful to be a tiny part of such an interesting and fun group of people. I am still cheering for all of the 2nd rounders, and can't wait to see who moves on.:cheer2:

Glad she is feeling better. DS woke up with a fever yesterday and we started breathing treatments on Sat!! I was thinking -- oh no!! But, he woke up today and is just fine. Praying the same for your little princess.

I think my dream job would be to be Tinkerbell at the Fireworks or Cinderella in the parade!! Always wanted to be able to fly and ride in the carriage!!!

You are SO BRAVE wanting to fly down that zip-line!

I figure that once I put on the outfit, it would be so surreal and of course equipped with a fresh batch of pixie dust that anything is possible!!! But once I was down I would look back and fall over dead from a heart attack!!:rotfl2:

Oh, Twende...you will be so happy that you planned this way!!! I am a ridiculous oooober-planner & did that our first 2 trips to WDW. For our trip last month, all I planned only a TS dinner for each night & what park to go to for that day. We had 2 evening events (MNSSHP & Cirque) & that was it. We had a 10-day trip. It was completely amazing! The night we went to MNSSHP, we kicked around the treehouse pool all day, didn't even go anywhere! :cloud9: Gets me all excited just thinking about it now because it was so wonderful to take it all in at a nice slow pace!! OMG!! :yay:

You'll totally love it! And you even have room to totally change your mind if you want to about where to go in the mornings! I threw in a couple of breakfast reservations just in case we wanted to eat out & we ended up canceling one & we used the other one ~ it was awesome!!! :lovestruc

I am so happy to hear that another "planner" went "freestyle" and it worked well! I am a bit nervous but then I have years of planning in the mind grid so if things get too laid back I can always recall what worked well other times!

Ah, cake! Food of the gods- and leading to worship of whoever provides! There was a fellow in DC who started that way and turned it into a massive business- high end custom home made cakes! Seems people really like that.

Oh, how cool is that!!! Don't know what doula is, but babies- that is cool! Future MP candidates! heheheheee... Go Babies!

:)

Last Spring I did my DD's wedding cake. It went well except for the transportation process. Nothing like a sudden stop that sends a wedding cake into the back seat of a car! :scared1: I admit I freaked out and decided then and there that I would never do another family wedding cake! :rotfl:

A Doula by definition is someone who "mothers the mother". In reality it is someone who helps over see the entire birthing process, who offers care of a supportive nature to the birthing family, and who gives translations of medical terms and procedures to excited expectant parents. Over the years, I have participated in a couple hundred births and caught a few wee ones who were in too much of a hurry to wait for a midwife or OB.:goodvibes It is completely a miracle each and every time!

Speaking of a circus, I would love to preform in Cirque! That would be so fantastic!

My skills you ask ............. I can jump rope while bouncing on a pogo stick no handed, I have walked on a high wire, I am pretty darn good with doing the polka on stilts, and I can ride a unicycle! :upsidedow
Nothing like a very pleasantly plump middle age lady on her unicycle to stop traffic in our little town! :rotfl::scared1::laughing:

I think my dream job would be to be Tinkerbell at the Fireworks or Cinderella in the parade!! Always wanted to be able to fly and ride in the carriage!!!

Paula, I am so surprised to see someone else has the same dream I do! :goodvibes:woohoo:
Do you think they would allow us to do it in tandem! Maybe Tink and Hyacinth the hippo in one jump?:rotfl:

My Oldest DD actually trains people to do these kind of adventures like zip lines, high and low rope courses, and climbing towers. She is a complete outdoor adventure nut. I keep trying to get her to apply to be Tink and she laughs at me. I guess her real life is a bit more exciting than a single flight from the castle each day!:confused3:goodvibes

Your trip sounds just perfect, Penny. My girls (and I!!) enjoy all the things you mentioned. No one could bore me by sharing their trip plans. I so enjoy hearing about what people do. It also gives me good ideas for our next trip(s) to read about what others do.

On our trip in December we are going to Whispering Canyon for the first time. It is also my in-laws first trip to WDW so I think this will be a hilarious way to introduce them to The Magic. We also have ADR's at Crystal Palace (and numerous other places!).

I think it is awesome that you are able to take your GD on a trip. She will surely enjoy all the attention that you can give her, too. thanks so much for sharing your plans. Maybe you can post some pix when you get back too :)

Lisa, thanks and I think that for a first trip Whispering Canyon will be a blast for your in-laws. I will certainly try to post some pics when I return and maybe I will have a little more ensight into what we actually were able to do on our trip. Thanks for the interest and this is one of the better times of the year to go as the weather is great this time of year.

Disney Dream Job...

I would loved to have been a part of the Million dreams campaign. Seeing people faces as you are giving them unthinkable dreams. WOW!!!!:lovestruc

Sounds like we have a trainer!!! Let's get to working on it!! I can add that to my Mom's Panel App next year!!

I totally agree. When we were there in 2007 we went on a Wishes fireworks cruise. The fellow's name was Alan who was our "captain" He said that he also did the Year of a Million Dreams and the day before had given away a night in Cinderella's castle. I would love to do that and get to see the look of pure joy on people's faces!! :lovestruc

Stitchnut, glad to hear your little one might be finally turning the corner! I went to the Dr. and they said pneumonia...YAY!!! not :sad1:  :headache: Have antibiotics and told to rest. How can I rest, I teach!

Ok, so dream job.....

Now I have been thinking about this for years. I am retiring in 9 years and I want to be the ticket taker at the MK. I have arthritis and to much movement then will be hard. I have seen some with stools. I would want to be there early in the morning when they open, and everyone is excited and anxious to start the day!

My dream job is to be in charge of the environmental department at WDW. I work as an environmental scientist for an engineering/consulting firm. I love my job, but I have always wanted to help Save the World (WDW that is). Maybe some day my husband will retire from the military (over half way there!) and my perfect job will open up. I am ready to move back south for sure - the winters in NY are killing me! We had snow last week - ICK!

My second dream job would be a pastry chef that gets to create all the fabulous desserts (much more unrealistic than the first one since I haven't been to culinary school). I would especially love to be able to work on the creations at Christmas. I was blown away when we saw the gigantic
gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian a couple of years ago. After being a scientist all day, I love the creative outlet of cooking.

Alamode!

Drop them a note! If you actually could improve their net operations, that would be a much needed and valuable service! Of course, first you have to convince them that they stink at it so far! But, if you show that, that is your application and hiring point right there!

I knew a woodcarver from LONGGGGGGGG ago- came over from Europe- classically trained woodcarver (which means you learned to be a cabinet maker and sculptor first- and add in a bit of antique training. Anyway, he went to the National Park Service, and convinced them their buildings were all dull adn the same and not appealing at all- told them they needed some location- defining woodcarvings. He convinced them, and they said okay, go ahead! He is responsible in large part for every display and 'decoration' you see at the National Parks!

So go show them why they need net help!

:)

I like my universal health care too much up here in Toronto to go to the US. Plus my kids go to grade school on Sesame Street. How can life be any better than that?

I have always wanted to be the elevator operator at the Tower of Terror. Love the costume and the drama! What fun the attitude would be:scared1:

You mean just after you slam to a stop into the mattress on the side of a wall atop one of the Main Street buildings?

Hi Twende,

I am so happy to hear that another "planner" went "freestyle" and it worked well! I am a bit nervous but then I have years of planning in the mind grid so if things get too laid back I can always recall what worked well other times!

There comes a point where you know enough that you can stop planning ya know! I think some enjoy the planning as much as the trip, but if you know the place, you know the place: feel free to go freestyle!

Pop Quiz: Kid wants to ride Dumbo, but it is a two hour line: what do you do?

My dream job at Disney would be to work in Guest Services @ Magic Kingdom in City Hall! I absolutely love helping people with whatever it is that they need & when they're having a hard time, I would love to totally have the power to make [almost] everything better! :cloud9:

OH MY!! I can't even imagine the horror that you must have gone through when this happened. What did you do? Did they have a cake (a quick Costco run??):lmao:
