2010 cruise info

That would be a popular cruise if the price wasnt a typo.

Coming to Europe then? Must be tempted.

Looks like I might be sailing on the Wonder in April 2010, if I want to sail DCL on my birthday........;)

I found this tidbit about excursions for the European 2010 cruises --

"Along with the usual Disney onboard activities, the line is working on unique excursions such as dressing kids as princes and princesses before taking them to a castle for a visit and a feast. " princess:
Sounds too cool!

But we are laboring over strategies.... to book with points, to book direct and transfer to points, to transfer a dummy date cruise, to wait until we are onboard in June...sheesh! What is the best way??

That does sound cool for little ones but I doubt my DD who will be 16 in 2010 will be into that or my son who will be 13 then

With the prices the way they are already I don't think I would wait till June. If you're even thinking about going I'd go ahead and book it next week and then see if you can get any deals when you sail in June.

We talked to DCL today about the hotels for the Baltic cruises - here are the web links for anyone interested in looking ahead.

Park Plaza

Renaissance Chancery

and the Grosvenor

We are planning to have both a pre- and post-cruise stay in London so we hope to stay at one on the way over and one on the way back. I was glad to see that the Park Plaza and the Renaissance both can accommodate four in a room... we had to get two rooms in Barcelona in 2007.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Yep - my DS will be 18 then, but just sounded so cool for the little ones!! :goodvibes

Good point -- even though the prices are high, it will most likely sell fast for the ones we are looking at. :rolleyes1

My daughter would LOVE that!! Any ideas which port they may have that excursion?

I'm not sure which stops will have castles -- maybe someone else will know?-- just seemed really great and makes me wish I had little ones!! :flower3:

If you listen to the podcast, Mr. McAlpin was also including the adults to dress up for a banquet at a castle.

I apologize if this has already been addressed (I sort of skimmed through the pages), but has anyone heard when the excursions are going to be posted?

Thanks! :flower3:

I'm thinking of that exact cruise and my boys will be exactly that age also!

We are thinking of the EB in April 2010 but I wonder if there will be many kids on the ship. I am thinking about bringing my 4 and 6 years old. Anyone intend on taking this cruise with kids?

Oops! That last post was in reply to Melanie151's post.

We are considering this exact cruise and our boys will also be 6 and 4 by then. They both had a great time on our Mexican Riviera cruise back in May but I gotta say I'll be glad that my little one will be older this time around (can you say kids club)! :goodvibes

That probably won't happen until sometime next year.

I asked a DCL rep today about deposits and he said for the 11 day Med it would be $600 per person if you book over the phone, or $300 pp online.

Dahly

My TA told us that deposit for Cat. 4-12 would be $500 a person and for Cat.1-3 would be $1000 a person :scared1:

And she is with a Disney-specialist agency...But I hope you're right!

I am sooooooo computer illiterate. I am still trying to find the link to the prices. :(

That has been the range for the cat 4-12 sailings in the past but for 2010 the deposit has been increased to $600 with the 50% off offer for deposits if booked online. Online can be booked by anyone including travel agents. The $600 deposit is on the longer cruises

Keep in mind though that if the system crashes online, as it has been known to happen, it may be quicker to call in for the reservation but then would pay the full deposit amount.

Cat 1-3 cannot be booked online - full deposit would be due, which I was told, is $800 per person but that can also vary depending on the length of the cruise
