2010 cruise info

We are thinking of the EB in April 2010 but I wonder if there will be many kids on the ship. I am thinking about bringing my 4 and 6 years old. Anyone intend on taking this cruise with kids?

FYI, I just got off the phone with DCL. Both online and phone reservations open at 8 am ET on 10/14/08. So all us West Coasters will be having lots of coffee at 5 am! :surfweb:

This is probably a stupid question, but I noticed that some went to France. Do any of them offer tours to Disneyland Paris?

Villefranche/Nice is about 600 miles to Disneyland Paris.

DLP is only about 150 miles from Dover, England. Arrive early and take the EuroStar chunnel from London or Dover.

Well its funny I first posted Late April and again in May this year that it would be the Baltic, I posted it in a bold statement not speculation but was flamed for it.

Later I then posted it would have more cruises, a series of cruises, before and after the Baltic, and said Madeira /Lisbon / Gibraltar would be cruise ports.

I said it would be Russia, St Petersburg, some said do to the policital situation that wouldnt happen.

I got release date of information correct to within 12 hours, but the cruise release date wrong by a week.

I did say it would call in the UK, I thought it was Southampton or Harwich not Dover so got that wrong and the Med 10/11 extended stay from April to September was a surprise to me.

On posts on the 2010, I also mentioned Malta and Tunis as alternative ports for the 2010 Meds. (But was wrong on Palma)

But not bad ??? Got most of it right.

8AM -I think,,

He he, high up what,???? Don't ask, some people think I am high up something maybe my own.......

:worship: :worship: :hippie:

I was eagerly awaiting the announcement too only to find the prices are 3x the price of Carnival! (although I am basing that on Carnival's 2009 pricing). I know Carnival isn't Disney but Europe is such a port intensive cruise I really can't justify the extra money, particularly as some ports such as Warnmunde (Berlin) and St Petersberg I doubt we would even eat on the ship.

And when we add over $2000 per person for airfares plus 4 nights in London the dollars just don't add up - I can get a suite for less than Disney is charging for a Cat 11 (not that I would - again, Europe is very port intensive

Such a shame as I had done a 4 day Disney cruise a few years ago and appreciated the family atmosphere. But then my DD is going to be 13 and was quite happy on Carnival's Med cruise last year so looks like it is back to Carnival for us!

Does anyone know why do they not provide the rates for cat 12s? Will they be booking cabins at this level? I really doubt that we will be able to swing one of these cruises anyway, since most of our money is going to our DSs' college tuition! But, if we did, I thought we might me able to book DH and I on DVC points, and put our boys in a cat 12 on cash. Would this be possible to book?

over 2,000 dollars a person for airfare where are you coming from?

I'd suspect she's coming from Australia.

Such port intensive trips aren't realistic for our kids. I can't see dragging them all over - and that's what I would be doing, all the while listening to them complain. So, we'll sit this one out.

I decided on the 11 Night Med on August 7th, but then got to looking at the 8 night Dover to Barcelona on July 30 so I'm undecided again.

Question though.....the other cruises give me a range for the first 2 adults and then a range for different ages for the 3rd party. There's nothing like that on the 8 Night one?? Trying to do a roundabout estimate of how much that would cost for our family of 3..Any ideas?

I read several places here to not double book as that raises everyone's prices and i definitely won't do both as awesome as that would be (I'm a rural Texas teacher and my income is it in our home)....But without knowing prices, I can't really make a decision. :confused3

I'd just assume have a Cat 12 for the three of us too, but noticed it wasn't an option....

I would call DCL and ask them.

we're planning to book the Aug 7 11 night Med also. hoping for two cat 9 connecting rooms. i'm waiting for the DVC points charts to come out, which MS says will be before the 14th. if not, we'll book in cash then flip to points :yay:

I was thrilled to see the Northern Capitals cruise until I saw the prices. I have always wanted to visit Russia. There is no way I can justify almost 4k per person for a 12 night cruise for the lowest category room. There are only two of us, but for 8k plus the fuel surcharge and airfare, we could have a couple of amazing trips....

Thanks...I emailed my TA so if she doesn't know the answer, I'll call myself tomorrow and ask I guess.

Awesome. If we do decide on that one and not the July 30 one, we'll have to meet up. :)

over 2,000 dollars a person for airfare where are you coming from?

Even here in the U.S. -- we live in the northern plains, no big cities near us - I checked prices for this September to Barcelona and back from Orlando - $2700 a ticket per person. Only two major airlines fly out of the airport here, so we have little choice and prices are expensive.

I got looking at the prices and as much as I WANT to do a med cruise, it won't be happening on Disney. The prices are way out of line. I can cruise RCCL or Carnival for half the price.
I know we get 'Disney quality' and that is how I can justify paying $$$ for our January western cruise, but we want the Disney experience for that cruise.
If I am cruising in Europe (where I have never ever been before!), I am not going there for Disney stuff - I am going to see Europe, and really am not going to pay double so that Mickey Mouse can be on my ship. I plan to be out sightseeing every last minute it is in port, and at night, I will probably be too tired to worry about a pirates party or special broadway style shows. Those things are important to me for our upcoming Caribbean cruise, but not in a Med cruise.
I just can't justify spending $5000 for 2 of us in an inside room (and I would want a balcony for Europe!), plus $2000 on airfare, plus at least $1500 for excursions (Its not like the Carribbean where I happy to hop a cab to the beach and relax all day -I want to SEE EUROPE, and will pay for good excursions). Plus spending, and before I know it I have spent 10 grand on a vacation for my daughter and I.
