2010 cruise info

Would LOVE to do the 12 night, but am I reading that correctly? For 4 of us (me, DH, DD12 or 13, and DD8 or 9), it would cost us about $12-14K, not including plane tickets for all of us to Barcelona? :scared1: I don't know if I can convince DH to do this, as wonderful as it sounds :sad2: He may get into the transatlantic crossings, though, but we wouldn't be able to pull younger DD out of school for that long, probably (school system doesn't allow "educational field trips" anymore). Maybe we'll be homeschooling her by then (already hs older DD) Good luck on your bookings everybody!

Based on previous Med cruises which dates will be cheaper? Is it cheaper to cruise in May, August, or September. I'm actually hoping for the later dates but am prepared to go when the rates are the cheapest!:goodvibes

So now we have a week to decide lol! We were wondering what sort of activities take place on sea days for the teens --

We were originally going to book another cruise for December 2009 where we were going to allow our dd who will be 13 then to bring a friend along on.

Now we're considering the westbound transatlantic in 2010, she will be 14 then, but are concerned that she might get bored with that many sea days in a row if she doesn't find a friend on board to hang out with.

We would allow her to bring a friend, but I'm thinking her friends' parents won't be too keen on dishing out airfare to Barcelona (we'd pick up the cruise tab), and having their child miss two weeks of school.

So tell me those that went on the 2007 with teens, what did they do?

We were on the EB TA in May 2007. The Stack had activities planned for the teens, but honestly, there weren't that many teens onboard. DD did some activities with the Stack, but mostly she did her own thing.

The Christmas cruise is an 11 night southern carribean leaving on the 18th and returning on the 29th. I called Disney directly and asked them about it.

Did they say when we can book the Christmas cruise?

Oh, that does sound nice doesn't it!?! :lovestruc

But what about the cheapest month to cruise the Med? I know there are a lot of DISers that cruised the Med this last time and was wondering if the prices where cheapest at the beginning of the summer or the end?

Also, did anyone attempt one of these cruises with a baby? We will have a wonderful little girl :lovestruc just over a year old when these cruises happen and where trying to decided if the were doable with a baby. Of course my mother is jumping at the chance to keep her (and she's not even here yet-those grandparents:rotfl: :lmao: ) but I don't think we will want to be gone from her for that long. Did anyone see any babies on the Med cruise? Thanks!

I wonder how fast some of these will sell out. I want to do the 10 night Med cruise!

This is probably a stupid question, but I noticed that some went to France. Do any of them offer tours to Disneyland Paris?

For the Med in 2007 pre/post DLP trips were available to book at a later date, DLP is also very easy to get to and from London or Dover.

I would expect this to be added about 12 months pre your cruise.

If booking a cruise to/from Dover, book a Eurostar train from /to ASHFORD international, and get on of the two DIRECT trains to DLP, (Marne La Vallie- Chessy Station)

Thank you so much for your help!

I was looking at the 2010 European cruises and daydreaming. The funny thing is my DS 13 had said a couple of years ago he wanted to cruise to Russia. :lmao: And now-we can! Where would you fly to if the ship is departing from Dover?

We are trying to plan our first Disney cruise in fact first cruise for all of us. We want to go in 2010 but we aren't interested in any of the new places. Are they going to have any of the Caribbean or Bahamian cruises. I couldn't find anything but figure I may be looking in the wrong place.

Congratulations! I'm actually wondering the same thing! We're interested in maybe doing the westbound TA, but we'll have a one year old, and the thought of flying to Barcelona makes me a bit nervous.

We actually were on the 6/16/07 Med cruise, but I don't remember seeing any babies. Now whether that's because they weren't there or just because I wasn't paying attention, I'm not sure :)

Have you ever stayed at the Sequoia Lodge? We stayed there during our DLP stay and loved it.:lovestruc Hopefully, we will be able to get back to DLP if we book the Med cruise. This time I want to stay at the Disneyland Hotel!!!!

Sequoia Lodge, my DD is going with guides there in 2010!!! I havent stayed there its ok, a 2 star, and you have to get a bus to the parks, New York is a short walk along the Disney Village (Downtown Disney) to the parks.

Whilst Disneyland hotel is at the Disneyland park entrance, I do not rate it, too expensive, the pool at NY is better, and the restaurants are better.

Plus luggage transfer to NY is better, as Disneyland hotel is at the park entrance its hard to get it over there and you have further to walk to the Disney Village in the evenings

Ok...I'm pretty sure I've narrowed down our possibilities thanks to school schedules......

I think we're going to try to do a 5 Night June 22 (after spending 10 - 14 days at disney) and then the 11 Night Med August 7th.....

I looked at the prices and they are showing ranges

for example: for the 5 Night, Category 11, it says: $899 - $1659/person....any ideas what price range we'll get if we book the 14th?
