2006 version: What have you seen on the Emerald aisle?

Certain Impala's (LS) have bench seats in the front, so yes, this is considered a 6 passenger car (4 adults, 2 kids)

Really? I never knew this? I thought the bench seat was obsolete.

So if I didn't have much luggage, I could consider this type of Impala for our family; we'd be configured as follows: DH-driver, Me-front seat passenger, DD (6)-second front seat passenger, DD (13) & DD (9) & DS (1)w/car seat-back seat???

The other thing we could possibly do is have part of our party take DME, with luggage, while part of our party gets car. We could use the car for what we really want it for, evening activities and dining going from resort to resort. This is a whole new possibility for EA service... New things to consider...???
THANKS!

and all that was in the 'A' erminal lot was Grand Am's. There must have been 25-30 of them. No SUV, no LeSabre, no PT', just Grand Am. I chose a gold one with 2500 miles on them. It was a sweet ride.

Wondering if you arrive later in the day there may be more selection...as people return cars on their way home. We're arriving at 11 a.m. so if that theory is true we'll just take what they have - no worries - we're going to Disney World! :goodvibes

Actually, in my experiences 11am is usually a good time to hit the lot, because all the returned cars are cleaned up and back out (the ones from the previous night)....

Yuck. I dislike the Grand Am. I rented one last Fall for a long road trip and the only good thing I can say about it was the fuel ecomomy (well over 30pmg highway).

:Pinkbounc Bumping back to the first page to see if we can get some more recent sightings. ;) :sunny: :Pinkbounc

Arrived Friday 8/11 at 10 pm. The aisle was FULL of Grand Ames as far as the eye could see. There was one Buick Lacrosse with leather seats. We nabbed that one. Even executive aisle had only cars...no SUV's or mini vans or PT Cruisers. Many cars but not much choice.

Im confused on what you meen by Grand Ams, they have been out of service for 10+ mths, do you mean the G6? Its really a totally redisigned version of the Grand Am....

Bumping again, we're going soon so I'd like more sightings if possible. ;) :teeth:

Just back. We had an suv reserved but checked out the aisle too.

Pick up aug 2nd @ 10pm > Nothing anywhere. In fact, only 1 suv in the suv row. I took that, it was a kia sorrento with 2000 miles on it. Was ok, drive nice. Nothing spectular. The EA > was vitually empty. I saw 1 car, and thought it was a G6.

Return Aug 19th 4pm > Returned the suv and took about 3 minutes! Great service, no problem with paper work either. The EA > had quite a few cars. G6's, The pontiac (not suv, but station wagon looking car, [can't think of the name]. And a few of the new chevy's that look like that PT cruiser (also can't think of the name).

Good luck! mky princess:

Thanks for the report. Ill use my automobile knowledge to translate your post ;)

Pontiac "Station Wagon" = Pontiac Vibe

Chevy "PT Cruiser" = Chevrolet HHR

Just returned today!

Picked up on A side on August 25 and saw many interesting cars.

We were so excited to see 3 convertible Beatles and 2 convertible PT Cruisers and several regular convertibles as well.

Since it was just me and my 2 girls we took the PT cruiser convertible. It was a tight squeeze for our luggage but we made it. I would never be able to rent it if my DH had joined us. It only fit one suitcase and the stroller in the trunk.

This was the FIRST time in 9 trips that we got something other then an Intermediate. :cool1:

We arrived on August 27th, there was 2 SUV's (1 Saturn Vue, and a Trailblazer), plus a bunch of Impalas. We jumped in the Saturn. We ended up having to go back to the airport for a few reasons, and out of curiosity while waiting I wandered to the A side, there were a bunch of SUV's, mostly Kia's and a lot of G6's, a few impalas and one Monte Carlo.

The night of September 1st there were mainly Kia Sorrentos, about 8 of them.
