2006 version: What have you seen on the Emerald aisle?

Just back from Emerald aisle at MCO. All I saw were sedans. We ended up with a Chevy Impala.

We got back on the 4th and got a tremendous deal on a grand caravan with about 5k on it. There were 2 mini-vans, a couple of suvs, and sedans. Check your rates right before you are about to leave we paid $123 for the week for the van. :cool1: :cool1:

whew, thats a great rate for a nice car. Gas is up (especially in FL) so i have a feeling maybe SUV's/Vans will start to show up again :confused3

DisneyJosh, what was gas running? Here in chicago area it is anywhere from $3.23 and up. Just curious. I have the small suv, planned so far. Thanks, mky princess:

I havent been down in a while, but on Orlando Gas Prices, the site indicates the highest prices around $3.20 per gallon. WOW, Chicago is really high! Around here we are around $2.95....

The night of June 28 there were only sedans on EA. We took (having a senior moment now) I want to say a Montana, think that was it, from the Ex. Aisle.
The gas yesterday on Disney property was about $2.82.

I was on Emerald Aisle on July 8 at 10am. There were mostly Impalas to pick from. It was a nice car so we were satisfied.

when you all post your rates are they the base or total after fees and taxes?
I just booked for October 31st ("slow season") and it was $250 for intermediate!
I read your posts and think I am getting robbed! :confused3

I'm paying $242 total (including all fees/taxes) for my Intermediate rental from Oct 21 thru Oct 29.

Its bit higher then I've paid in the past but not bad for 9 days.

we are only Tuesday thru Monday - do the times make a difference as for pick up and drop off -
we are also dropping off in Fort Myers

we have a wedding and it was a great excuse to hit the world on the way :thumbsup2

Depends which code you used. As to which rate you get. I work them all through and find the best deal. Also the earlier the better. Prices are better off in the future, and right before you go sometimes, if they are not very busy. There are only so many allowed for some codes, so you have to get in early. It is along and tedious, watching game. Just keep running your numbers. With any code you have. Or qualify for from www.mousesavers.com . Good luck! :thumbsup2

FYI: My trip in aug and Oct are almost the same number of times and same number of days. However; even with the same (best) code I could use and booked at same time. Oct. is costing me almost a quarter more.

We were there on July 8th around 8:00 PM. As a previous poster stated, all that were there were Impalas. We asked an attendant if this was all they had available and he pointed me to a Grand Prix on Executive Aisle. I told him we were Emerald and he said, "...no problem, go!". So we went!

Did notice at checkout on the receipt it had stated we reserved an intermediate but we checked out full-size. Didn't know if we'd have to pay the difference when we brought the car back. No problems when we returned on the 13th.

Hoping for better selection in August when we return!!!

I've been having a hard time finding a decent rate for Oct 22 to 27. National was giving me around $250, I tried all different codes. I found a deal with Alamo for $161. Hopefully it will go down, I only paid $104 for 6 days last month.

Hey, I'll be there almost the same time; 21 thru 29 (going on the DVC cruise).

My rental is with National EA for $242. I can't get it any lower.

I haven't even booked my airfare yet due to such high prices. I've got to get going though.

We arrived Friday, July 28th at 9:30 a.m. and we found a New Kia SUV on the aisle with less than 800 miles. Family of 5 loved it! Returned it last night. :thumbsup2
