Thanks for the congrats, I didn't think I would post that much, I would just lurk in the background but you are all too much fun. I have a long way to go to catch up to any of you!

OK, I had to look up Ortley Beach because I never heard of it. It is near Toms River which is near mile marker 80 on the Garden State Parkway. We live near exit 0. The very bottom of the state. Oh yeah, Cape May as in the Cape May Cafe (I never even ate there). It is a beautiful place, and not too far from Philly, NY and Atlantic City. Let me know if anyone would like to visit. http://www.capemay.com/ or www.greatcapemayinns.com

Chris

I have heard that Cape May and the towns around it are very nice. Lots of Bed and Breakfasts and slower pace of vacations.

Nick wanted me to post on the DIS that one of his butterflies has died. We ordered the caterpillar's, watched them form chysalisses (sp?) and hatch from those. They've been butterflies for over a week now and one died today.

Nick is very very tenderhearted and he's pretty upset about it (read as crying and sobbing) I heard him tell KT "I prayed to God that they wouldn't die." :( :( :(

I'm sorry to read about it Nick. :sad1:

Oh yea, I know the song. Glad you like it here.
We come up to your neck of the woods next friday!
So, I get in the car this morning (three weeks before we leave) and what should play on the IPOD but the EPCOT Illuminations music. Like that wasn't enough to get me yearning for the next three weeks to pass quickly the next song was the Tapestry of Dreams parade music (the IPOD was on random). I still will have more to listen to when I go to lunch.
We loved the Tapestry of Dreams parade. DS used to call it the hey-up parade. Hey-up, hey-up hey-up....sing it with me! Anyone ever hear if they might bring that parade back someday?

Chris

I don't think they will ever bring that parade back. It took up a lot of walking room from World Showcase during the time of day the most people would be touring/eating in the World Showcase restaurants/shops. Also, the Enya music has passed it's pop prime.

Chris, am I reading right? Are you from the Cape May area? I spent the first 21 years of my life growing up in NJ and never saw Cape May til this past July on a road trip with my sisters. :moped:
It is a beautiful town and we all hope to spend some time there in the near future for a family vacation. We spent a day there while waiting to catch the ferry over to Lewes, DE. I'm originally from the Hackensack area - not so pretty up there, but used to drive down to Seaside Heights alot when I was in high school.
Sis and I are heading over to Atlantic City for a concert in a few weeks and I hope we can drive around Cape May and figure out the ideal spot for a family vacation next year.

I lived in New Mil*ord, NJ until earlier this year, 2 towns over from Hackensack. What town did you live in in Bergen County?

Does everyone have their costumes bought/made yet? I bring this up because I was shopping for a cheap pirate costume and a few things for my Halloween party costume last night and went to the Goodwill store. I was looking for something like Steve has for his pirate outfit, you know an older type of suit that can be found at such stores. Anyway, I found a nice dress shirt that doubles as a pirate shirt for like $10 so if you're not looking to break the bank you might want to check that out. Also, Party City had a whole pirate outfit for $39.99 but I like the homemade stuff better.

My favorite parade! Followed a close second by Mickey Mania.

The song with no real lyrics, just vocalizing :)

Hey la oh way la te le oh way ye ye oh way yeaaaaaaaaaaa

(think I listen to it a lot?)

And the puppets! :joker:

I'm sorry to say as long as Jammin Jungle runs, I would be surprised if they brought it back to Epcot.

Mark I'm with you on the music... They play it after Illuminations and I pratically skip to that music. I have it on my grouped with Reflections of Earth and Promise on the MP3 player and play it in the car. Wish I could get it without the vocals though.... Will keep looking.

I think I am finally caught up.

Mark congratulations on the win. That was really fast. :thumbsup2

Karen I don't think we will be getting the butterflies in the future. I think we will go to the zoo to learn about them. Tell Nick we are so sorry for his loss.

Curt I want to know why you watch football. :rotfl2:

I am in for the pre wedding party. I'm sure Tom would be in with the guys. I'll let him know about it tonight. I really hope the girls like the clubs.

Tapestry of Dreams was one of our favorite parades. I am still sad about it being gone. I would really love to see another parade like that......Maybe someday.

Hey dere StateMate,

I don't watch football - I'm boycotting the LIONS. (This will get me points "down south") I'm not a U of M fan and we live too far from MSU to really care about the Spartans. Baseball, sport of Kings (or Royals :lmao:) there is where my passion lies, and I'm NUTTIN' compared to Karen.

ITEM 2: Definately count Karen in - A reason to dance and relax, yup she will be there with bells on.

Sorry, that you will need to discuss with guest services.

Of course, unless you want to get in on the bidding for Cameron's seat! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK I AM GONNA BE SOME BARBARIAN AT DINNER? I am getting such the bad rap here....

Caught up once again,

Welcome to another day closer to the Sail Away Party!!

I also want to say something about the tags. Karen was very subtly tagged and I missed it. I just want to ackowledge my beloved, and the person who got me started on the Dis. She may be quiet here in cyberspace now - but not in real life. I'm guessing that without her my life would come to a crashing halt. She keeps me organized and on time. She is the voice of reason and levelheadedness (is that a word? - who cares I'm being schmucky) in the family. So I just wanted to stop and share a moment to give a type out to my partner. :lovestruc

Ok off to the Tiger game... SEE YA!

was thinking about this last night in my sickened state, and was far too weak to get up and post. I'm feeling much better today. Just a sore throat now, I can deal with that. I even made it to the gym and to the animal shelter with the girls for a moms club field trip. Luckily, my marriage is safe for now because Bruce warned me if I brought home another pet, that pet would replace me in the house. There was a 2 month old mitten pawed kitten though that was just entirely too cute to spend another night in the shelter.....maybe I need to start looking for an apartment.

Anyway---I was thinking ladies---sorry boys, not to specifically exclude you, but I am Do we want to have a little bachelorette celebration for our friend Julie's last single days? Nothing spectacular, nothing long lasting, just a few minutes, just a drink, or two, or however many to celebrate maybe after the show one night? Maybe we can get Captain Henry to do a little dance for us?
Sounds like fun to me! Keep me posted!

Good for you on boycotting the Lions. :thumbsup2 Same with the other football teams from 'that state up North'.

Curt speaks the truth with that he can't come close to holding a candle to Karen and her knowledge of all things Detroit Tigers baseball. She is VERY passionate with her support for the Tigers.

ITEM 2: That's great that Karen is participating in the bachelorette party. What about you for the bachelor party? They do serve virgin drinks and sodas and there is no shame in drinking those. You saw me do that when we met up in July.

I guess you have garnered a reputation here. :confused3

Seriously, Curt is a great guy when you meet him in person and is quieter than here on the boards. I'm happy to be sitting with him and the others at dinner. :thumbsup2

Yes, lots of B&B's. Wildwood is not quite as slow and quite as CM. We go to the beach in Stone Harbor. Big multi-million dollar houses there. Let me know if anyone wants to visit. We know all kinds of things to do.

Hi all,

Well, now that it's getting closer and since Diana Lyn told me to come back here and check it out, I'm back! :wave2:

I've checked out the DIS DVC website, which is great. I had my info/photo added.

Thanks to Diana Lyn I checked out when the two meets are and I'm going to try and attend at least one, and maybe both. DH is very anti-social.

I have a couple of questions. I haven't done a 4 day cruise in years and I've never done a DVC cruise before.

I was wondering if we have to pack a suit for my DH and a dress for me? Is there a formal night? I also read that there might be a Pirate themed night and party. Is there? What's it like?

Is there a way to know the rotation of the restaurants (and Pirate night) and of the shows?

Is there anything special that will be going on or be different because it's a DVC cruise?

Hey, is our cruise one of the first ones after dry dock? Interesting!

I'm getting so excited now that its so close! :cool1:
