2006 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC06 - October 22, 2006 Part 5

Nick wanted me to post on the DIS that one of his butterflies has died. We ordered the caterpillar's, watched them form chysalisses (sp?) and hatch from those. They've been butterflies for over a week now and one died today.

Nick is very very tenderhearted and he's pretty upset about it (read as crying and sobbing) I heard him tell KT "I prayed to God that they wouldn't die."

And then he came up to me and said "will you let them know on the DIS that one of the butterflies died." With as straight a face as possible I told him I would.

So I'm keeping my word.

I don't recall if we resolved this or not, but earlier there was concern that regular park visitors would be allowed to stay in the park after MNSSHP starts. I wrote Disney about it. I asked the following:

I have tickets for this even for October 26th. I have heard latelythat this may not be as private a party as it was advertised to be,since guests who did not purchase separate MNSSHP tickets will beallowed to stay in the park to view the parade and fireworks. Canyou confirm or dispute this change in policy, since I am concernedthat I paid a separate price for something that other guests aregoing to be able to enjoy for free. Thank you.

This is the response I received:

Dear Samuel,Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.No, your information is not quite correct. Day Guests will be asked toleave at 7pm and they will not be allowed to stay in the park while theHalloween Party is taking place.If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number ifapplicable on all correspondence.Thank you!Sincerely,Lainie WeidnerWDW Online Communications

We loved the Tapestry of Dreams parade. DS used to call it the hey-up parade. Hey-up, hey-up hey-up....sing it with me! Anyone ever hear if they might bring that parade back someday? Chris

My favorite parade! Followed a close second by Mickey Mania.

Karen I don't think we will be getting the butterflies in the future. I think we will go to the zoo to learn about them. Tell Nick we are so sorry for his loss.

Curt I want to know why you watch football.

I am in for the pre wedding party. I'm sure Tom would be in with the guys. I'll let him know about it tonight. I really hope the girls like the clubs.

Tapestry of Dreams was one of our favorite parades. I am still sad about it being gone. I would really love to see another parade like that......Maybe someday.

Funny, I had guessed Hocus Pocus too, but since I alreadysaw it was guessed, I changed it to HISTA, even though I was pretty sure Mark was correct.

Chris, am I reading right? Are you from the Cape May area? I spent the first 21 years of my life growing up in NJ and never saw Cape May til this past July on a road trip with my sisters.
It is a beautiful town and we all hope to spend some time there in the near future for a family vacation. We spent a day there while waiting to catch the ferry over to Lewes, DE. I'm originally from the Hackensack area - not so pretty up there, but used to drive down to Seaside Heights alot when I was in high school.
Sis and I are heading over to Atlantic City for a concert in a few weeks and I hope we can drive around Cape May and figure out the ideal spot for a family vacation next year.

Alrightly--I don't know anything about a gentleman's club!

I believe Silver Beach is a few beaches up from Ortley. It's near Seaside Heights? I spent many summers down there as a kid. That place was great!

It wasn't always a gentleman's club but was a regular bar, then a sports bar, then the GC, then a restaurant. I remember my aunt and the other ladies of the area getting a petition together to close down the GC and when one went in to give it to the owner they found a lot of the husbands and sons at the bar. They were supposed to be at the store. My aunt complained about it for the next few months but it died down after a while and the GC eventually went out of business after that summer season.

The beach areas were about halfway between Pt. Pleasant and Seaside Heights because I remember going to both boardwalks. Seaside had the better teen/adult rides. That was a fun area especially in summer.
