I think the tag fairy liked Karen's tag so much he let her keep it and just colored it (in Tigers colors of course). Cute tag!

No formal night on this cruise. So unless you want the dress & suit, no need to pack it.

We won't know the rotations until we're onboard. Pirate night, last I heard, was slated for Monday night.

There should be a lot of special surprises as well as guest speakers.

Great, thank you so much!! For some reason I thought you had to dress up on one night, maybe the Triton's night. Oh well, I'm glad that you don't have to!

Thanks again for all the info.

Up ahead
As we count down the days to departure, expect one more magical edition of S.S. Member Cruise 2006 Cruise News. In the final issue before our trip, we'll tell you about other unique events to anticipate during our voyage. We'll also introduce a Walt Disney World® Ambassador and two amazing musical Guests we've invited just for this year's cruise, "Celebrating Disney Milestones!"

WOO HOO 2... 2 musical guests!!!

Hi all,

Well, now that it's getting closer and since Diana Lyn told me to come back here and check it out, I'm back! :wave2:

I've checked out the DIS DVC website, which is great. I had my info/photo added.

Thanks to Diana Lyn I checked out when the two meets are and I'm going to try and attend at least one, and maybe both. DH is very anti-social.

I have a couple of questions. I haven't done a 4 day cruise in years and I've never done a DVC cruise before.

I was wondering if we have to pack a suit for my DH and a dress for me? Is there a formal night? I also read that there might be a Pirate themed night and party. Is there? What's it like?

Is there a way to know the rotation of the restaurants (and Pirate night) and of the shows?

Is there anything special that will be going on or be different because it's a DVC cruise?

Hey, is our cruise one of the first ones after dry dock? Interesting!

I'm getting so excited now that its so close! :cool1:

Sorry, I didn't answer your PM. Glad to see you found us though!!

:welcome: to my friend the Spoiler

I think Cindy already answered, no formal night. Pirate night is fun, there's a special Pirate menu and they give pirate bandanas at dinner. You can dress in pirate attire for dinner or not. I'd say it's maybe 50/50 so either way you won't feel out of place. We dressed a little last year (just shirts and the bandanas) but we aren't at all this year because we're bringing Halloween costumes and that's enough extra gear for us. After dinner and the show there's a pirate deck party with fireworks and a dessert buffet--that is to die for!

Alot will be different because it a Member Cruise, we're supposed to have a special guest entertainer (we've heard Jodi Benson, the Little Mermaid). Last year there were several presentations by Don "Ducky" Williams. He's an animator and tells the most amazing stories while he draws. We've also heard he's joining us again.

Like I said, there's lots of chit chat here, some fun and games and lots of silliness--but join in when you can, don't feel like you have to keep up and ask any questions you think of. We do the Tip of the Day and most of us have found them to come in very handy!

Not to sound like a broken record

That's a saying that you don't hear very often today....I bet you say that to kids today and they'll have no clue what you are talking about! :lmao:

OK--so let's do process of elimination---

Sunday night we'll all be on sensory overload from just getting on the ship and will probably all be asleep by 8:30.

Monday night--wasn't this Pirate night?

Wednesday night--SSMC05 cruisers will remember the mad dash to try to get all those gifts into our suitcases and out in the hall. A little chaotic to say the least.

So how about Tuesday night? After a Day at Sea we should all be nice and relaxed and ready to party!! party:

I picked the day, someone else pick the time and place. The late show starts at 8:15 and is what like an hour and a half?

Thanks for the nice welcome! The pirate night sounds fun. My older DD is going to be Elizabeth Swann for the Halloween party so maybe she could wear that! I guess I'll have to take one last trip to the Disney store and see if they have pirate shirts.

There's so much to pack when you go to WDW, a cruise and a Halloween party!!

Are you going to one of the Halloween parties? We're going Oct 26.

Oh my, I didn't realize that she's the voice of the Little Mermaid. That's so exciting. My little red head will love that and so will my 10 year old. They love that movie. How exciting.

Thanks!

Well, three of us are. ::yes::

Gary's just trying to get our of staying with Walker for the weekend while I go camping with Cameron. And, doing the laundry we bring home. And, getting everything ready for Monday. And, doing the grocery shopping. And, dealing with the pet sitter.

Gee, I can see why he's trying to stay on board. ;)

You will see several of us at MNSSHP on 10/26.

Are you also having dinner at LTT?

Tuesday works for me!

Gary :rotfl2: Friday night we're going to JellyRolls after our welcome party if you want to tag along!

Caught up once again,

Welcome to another day closer to the Sail Away Party!!

I also want to say something about the tags. Karen was very subtly tagged and I missed it. I just want to ackowledge my beloved, and the person who got me started on the Dis. She may be quiet here in cyberspace now - but not in real life. I'm guessing that without her my life would come to a crashing halt. She keeps me organized and on time. She is the voice of reason and levelheadedness (is that a word? - who cares I'm being schmucky) in the family. So I just wanted to stop and share a moment to give a type out to my partner. :lovestruc

Ok off to the Tiger game... SEE YA!

Oooh Curt is going for some brownie points!!

When we go into the resale shop, Walker is always wanting to buy some albums. He thinks they look really neat. What he doesn't know is that Gary probably still has a box of them out in the garage and could play them on the record player which is in the family room.

Anytime is good for me. Just let me know when and I'll try to be there.

Our goal this cruise is to see if we can get Walker to make it through dinner and not fall asleep. :worried: If we can just get him into the club before he zonks out, we'll be good for an evening out. :woohoo: If not, we have to take turns staying with him in the room as there isn't a babysitter to be called.

:welcome: beattyfamily

Karen come out and play! I wanna see your tag!:goodvibes

Anyone else a little disappointed with the Cruise NEWS? It does not look like they will be hosting a Bon Voyage Party this year! Oh, well I think we are taking care of all the little details.

The UPS man just came.....no docs, just more Crocs! I decided to give the Athens a try.

I wanted to eat there because its festive (we have eaten there before 2 other MNSSHPs) but my girls loved Tony's last year so they begged me to go there again. They don't like the LTT food.

I think I'll be canceling my LTT ADR soon. This trip was a surprise up until last week and again my girls told me Tony's, not LTT. The cruise is still a surprise and they won't know until Sunday morning when we're driving there!
