I would love to see Jim Brickman and Wayne Brady. I listen to Jim's Disney CD in my car on my long drives to work. It is very relaxing.

I enjoyed the Pirates clip. I really wish we were going back to WDW this summer. I don't want to wait until October!! Too bad I'm out of points.

Thank you for the wonderful birthday wishes for Jeff!!:cake:

We just got home from a wonderful dinner at a local Japanese grill. And he has already left on an emergency call (he is an electrician).:(

Quickly checking in this morning in not so good shape from bed :-(
My follow up at neuro went well, then I had a chiro appt. That went well too and he gave me some neck stretches with caution to do just what was comfortable and a referral to a local PT he likes. Went over to check out the Pt and make appt. for tonight. Got home, tried exercises...YIKES something didn't feel good. Next thing I know my neck muscles are spasming unbelievable producing excruciating pain again like in the beginning :-( Tried ice/heat...no good...even worse. Called on call doc at pain clinic. He said sounds like I made the herniation worse and I could take flexeril and it should start to work in 40min. I had some in the house from an injury last year (I never took them for it). I took and was able to sleep. I can NOT get out of bed now without such excruciating pain that I can't walk or drive. I think I will try to get someone to take me to the hospital :-( Please wish me luck...I was just preparing to go back to work next week too...SHEESH!

Good morning everyone!

Amy - sounds like you had a fun day and another planned for today.

Ilene - sorry to hear you are in so much pain again. I hope you get hold of someone to take you to the hospital soon and they can help with the pain.

Ilene, I hope your able to get some relief from the pain. pixiedust:

If anyone has some spare pixie dust, there's some NYers who could sure use it! The flooding here is terrible, especially in the town I live in. I don't live anywhere near the river, but my friends who do have spent the entire night watching and waiting for their houses to be filled with water. The place where we are supposed to go to dinner tomorrow night for fireworks is completely under feet of water right now, the restaurant closed and the fireworks have been cancelled. The Thruway right now is closed from my exit all the way to Syracuse because much of it is completely covered with water. It's really sad.

Oh Diana - :wizard: for everyone in the flooded areas!!! You guys have been getting SO much rain, and it's time for it to stop. Let's hope that the waters recede (sp?) quickly!!!

Sending lots and lots of pixiedust: your way Diana. No time for news these days so I hadn't realized things were so bad up there. I wish we could take some of your rain away!

Ilene, I hope you find relief to the pain quickly. pixiedust:

Sounds exactly like that I did to my neck last year (well, not the herniation part, just the muscle spasms)
I *think* it started when I reached WAAAAY too far under the couch for cat toys. The next day my neck hurt a bit. We went to my mom's who is an expert muscle rubber, so she rubbed it out. The next morning I was like you.....could NOT get out of bed without screaming and falling back into bed. Luckily mom had flexeril which took the edge off but it was still a good couple of weeks before my neck even remotely felt normal. Gosh, I hate getting old.

Stepping on a soapbox...

Be careful with that chiropractor. Our dear friend (he was the best man at our wedding) used to go to a chiropractor for adjustments. One day they adjusted his neck (just like always) and later that night he had a stroke!!!! :earseek: Seems he had a dissecting vertebral aneruysm which ruptured b/c of the adjustment. He was in his mid 30's at the time.

Ok, off my soapbox....just scares me when I hear of ppl going to the chiropractor.

btw, the chiropractor HAD done all of the required x-rays to rule out anything bad prior to the treatments. :earseek:

Diana - sending pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: and :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: your way. No more rain!

Diana, I didn't realize it was so close to you & Stacy. I hope all the rain stopes and the water receeds. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I really didn't either until I wanted to take the girls to the park today only to find out the parking lot for the park (where that restaurant is) has about 3 feet of water in it from the river behind it. I saw on the news that the owners were able to get all the food out of there and the picnic tables so they were prepared, it's one of those outdoor ice cream drive in type places. But that's where the whole town goes for waterski shows, concerts and of course ice cream! :guilty:

The Central NY region around Binghamton got hit a lot worse than us.

The only problem we've had here at our house is with the pool, and it's not really a problem, we've kept pumping water out into the woods behind us so it doesn't flood our sunroom. :umbrella:

I've inheritied my sister Amy's procrastinaton gene all of a sudden. I need to be completely packed by this afternoon because we are supposed to spend the day at the beach tomorrow and now I have a scrapbooking thing instead of the fireworks at 5. I have nothing packed and still have a ton of shopping to do, we leave Saturday morning after the dog gets dropped off. I'm off to the gym, then hiting Walmart and Target. Then I'll be back to pack.....if you see me posting, yell at me!! I need to be done by 5 tonight so I can go get my pedicure! :sunny:

Stay safe, Diana. Is someone going to check on the pool while your gone? Or, would it be a better plan to cancel your trip to the inlaws to make sure everything is safe at home. ;)

I just had one of those the other night -- boy, do my feet feel wonderful. :cloud9: I really should have them done more often but this was my first one since late last summer (maybe for the cruise). After I broke my toe twice last fall, the thought of having my toe touched was not a pleasant one :scared: so I put it off again and again.

But, now my nails are nicely polished and rearing to go. What I didn't think to do was bring sandels with me that day that wouldn't rub off the fresh polish so I left the store with the cute, little white "slippers" on. I even wore them into the house and caused Walker to be in hysterics. :rotfl: As I was going to throw them away, Walker insisted we save them for the next time I paint my own nails. Something tells me he's planning on helping me with that job. :scared:

The old lady next door is going to watch the house for us. :scared: She watches the house anyway and keeps notes on the comings and goings, so I started to let her do it when we go away! :rotfl: I know she's really good at it anyway. She tells me exactly who stops by when I'm not home. Once she called me and said, you're blonde friend with the navy blue Audi stopped by. I was waiting for her license plate info! She's a good neighbor to have when we go away, and she has our cell numbers in case of emergency.

I can't get out of this vacation--I told Emma we were going on vacation and for some reason, she's associating it with getting ice cream? :confused3 No clue why. She got up this morning and said "Is today vacation? Are we getting ice cream?" We eat ice cream here all the time, so it's not like its a special vacation thing. She also knows she's going to the zoo. We don't have a zoo around here, so that's a big deal.

I love pedicures!! I can't wait to be able to take Emma and Julia with me to the Spa and spend a girls day there. Is teaching my toddlers how to be pampered considered child abuse somehow? :confused3

For those of you who were asking about the eco tour (jet skis). I put up some pictures in this thread on the main cruise forum. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1149677
Oh Mary - that looks pretty cool. I'm sure if I show Chris, he'd want to do it. I think that we'll wait until Madison is in the clubs, though, before we attempt something like that.

Make sure you get to the Koala exhibit. There's a new baby koala there who has recently come out of mom's pouch. And the tigers in Asia quest hang out (i.e. sleep) RIGHT by the window!!!

This is NOT zoomed in:

And you can make out the very edge of the second tiger on the bottom left. I have a picture of the two of them, but the glass was all smudgy and it reflected back everyone's outfit they were wearing! :(
