we are on our cruise but today I got an email from British air about making sure they have the right contact information for contact tracing. Which nothing has changed
Then it goes in to make you the proper papers to enter the US
You need to check entry teentry back onto the US
But all in mentions is being a tourist nothing about being a citizen
It also says if your a citizen that needs a visa like what you need now for the UK
I don’t remember having to do this for any other cruise
Any advice. I do have an email to my travel agent but she hasn’t back yet and we’re 7hrs ahead of home
Thanks

It sounds like the email came from British Airways, so that has nothing to do with your cruise and everything to do with you flying back into the US. You will need to fill out the information/form they ask you to or they might not let you on the plane.

The US has been doing contract tracing since the pandemic. I am currently in Spain for work and just got (what I presume is) a similar email from American Airlines asking me to add my contact information before my flight home Thursday.

Honestly, the BA website/app are so terrible that I wouldn't mess with it too much. I find it easier to check in at the airline desk when I get there-they will have to do passport verification anyway. I've tried to enter my passport info ahead of time and it usually doesn't work.

redhead is correct. I just put in my home address for each person for the Air France website/app. That was needed to check in for the flight.

If you are a US citizen, you do not need an visa to re-enter the US, just a valid passport.
You may also need to sign a customs declaration -- I did that on an app last time I re-entered the country.

Its called Advance Passenger Information and it is required by the US Government for everyone entering USA. The airlines are required to collect the information from all passengers before transatlantic flights.

The airlines are responsible for making sure everyone on the plane has the legal right to enter USA. So they send out a standard generic email to everyone. If people arrive in USA without the correct documentation the airlines get fined by the US Government.

It has nothing to do with your cruise and it does not matter that you are a US citizen, you have to confirm your details with airline.
