Oh, I SO need to get a pedicure. It's been WAY too long. And, since it's summer, I'm spending a lot of time either barefoot or in flip-flops, so I really should make an appt to get one.cgcw said:Stay safe, Diana. Is someone going to check on the pool while your gone? Or, would it be a better plan to cancel your trip to the inlaws to make sure everything is safe at home.![]()
I just had one of those the other night -- boy, do my feet feel wonderful.I really should have them done more often but this was my first one since late last summer (maybe for the cruise). After I broke my toe twice last fall, the thought of having my toe touched was not a pleasant one
so I put it off again and again.
But, now my nails are nicely polished and rearing to go. What I didn't think to do was bring sandels with me that day that wouldn't rub off the fresh polish so I left the store with the cute, little white "slippers" on. I even wore them into the house and caused Walker to be in hysterics. As I was going to throw them away, Walker insisted we save them for the next time I paint my own nails. Something tells me he's planning on helping me with that job.

My follow up at neuro went well, then I had a chiro appt. That went well too and he gave me some neck stretches with caution to do just what was comfortable and a referral to a local PT he likes. Went over to check out the Pt and make appt. for tonight. Got home, tried exercises...YIKES something didn't feel good. Next thing I know my neck muscles are spasming unbelievable producing excruciating pain again like in the beginning :-( Tried ice/heat...no good...even worse. Called on call doc at pain clinic. He said sounds like I made the herniation worse and I could take flexeril and it should start to work in 40min. I had some in the house from an injury last year (I never took them for it). I took and was able to sleep. I can NOT get out of bed now without such excruciating pain that I can't walk or drive. I think I will try to get someone to take me to the hospital :-( Please wish me luck...I was just preparing to go back to work next week too...SHEESH!

I don't live anywhere near the river, but my friends who do have spent the entire night watching and waiting for their houses to be filled with water. The place where we are supposed to go to dinner tomorrow night for fireworks is completely under feet of water right now, the restaurant closed and the fireworks have been cancelled. The Thruway right now is closed from my exit all the way to Syracuse because much of it is completely covered with water. It's really sad.

And you can make out the very edge of the second tiger on the bottom left. I have a picture of the two of them, but the glass was all smudgy and it reflected back everyone's outfit they were wearing!![]()

Oh Diana, that just sounds terrible. I think that floods really do take a lot out of a community. I hope that everything returns to normal as soon as possible.Diana Lyn said:I took a ride into town when I went to Walmart. The town is packed with newsvans and people watching and National Guard people helping out. I drove over the bridge that goes over this river and it was amazing. There's a huge island in the middle that you can't even see anymore. There's just water everywhere and crap floating down the river--tables, boats, big barrels. At the restaurant place, where you would go up to order food, the water has to be at least waist high. It's very sad.
That is great to hear, Gail!!!#1Mouse said:I went back to the surgeon today for a follow up check. He said everything looked fine and gave me a clean bill of health and a plastic bag with about 50 little gall stonesHe told me that's my souvenier from the surgery.
