Hi all - checking in at the end of a wonderful day.

Gail & Steve you will be proud of us. Karen (ohiominnie), Mike (ohiomickey) and I ordered creme brulee tonight even though we were in Parrot Cay! We learned from the best and the table next to us was a little envious.

Going to take it easy tonight and looking forward to tomorrow and our first sea day. We are also doing a group brunch in Palo as a reunion of the 10 day Holiday cruisers on board.

Hey Julie - wanted to clairfy something. There is not Ducky litho on this (the May trip) not sure if we'll get one on the DVC Member Cruise or not, but my guess is we might.

Well, today was very stressful. Madison is starting to show her stubborness and defiance today. She'll sit on the potty, doesn't do anything, then gets up and goes on the floor not 30 seconds later!! How frustrating?!?!?! But, I'm not giving up!!! Tomorrow is another day (and thank goodness that it is, because I'm exhausted!!).

I get a little misty eyed and teared up when a another Creme Brulee addict is created.

Only 21 weeks to go!

Good morning everyone. Happy Memorial Day!

A great big thank you to all who have and all who do serve our country so that it can be the great free country that it is.

Hope everyone enjoys their Memorial Day plans.

Mary - We'll be at the Westin, though I don't know which one (There are two downtown, aren't there?). You're right about us not having a car, but we're pretty comfortable with the mass transit in Chicago, so we should be able to get around fairly well. :thumbsup2

I'm even more excited about this trip, now that I know we'll be meeting up with friends, too!

Have a GREAT time on your cruise!!! pirate:

We don't have anything planned that weekend! I would love to meet up with you guys! I can meet you downtown, or we can set up something else. Just let me know!

We're back to civilization. :thumbsup2

The kids had a great time fishing. They caught several fish and Gary found a new bait that he loves.....leeches! Let me tell you, they are grosser than gross. :scared:

It was hot but not unbearable. Fortunately for us, the state park we stayed at has several large trees in the camping area. And, there was always a nice breeze coming off the lake. It was hot when we were in the sun -- which we tried to avoid.

The kids and I are all scrubbed up and in clean clothes. Gary still needs to de-gunk himself and then we will all look human again.

Time to catch up. I hope everyone is having a nice, long weekend. Trying to explain Memorial Day to the kids is sad -- a special thanks to those who have served for the rest of us. :thanks:

on Wednseday. National weather service reviewed the damages, and radar images and determined that we were hit by a tornado. Our house only had a few limbs broken but our next door neighbor lost his three seson room. A LOT of really big trees were down and other structural damages done around us. Four HUGE trees took out the power lines and blocked a major area roadway. We have been busy since then and I have no pics to share yet. Our electricity is finally on and staying on. But the pole in our backyard lost its anchor cable when a larg tree landed on the wires down the street from us. Over 6 inches of rain in our area. The main path seems to have been 100 yards wide and 1 mile long. Less than 200 yards from our house. Luckily we had no real damage and no one was home. Also no real injuries to anyone nearby either. I will try and get a few pics and post them.

Glad everyone is okay! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the nice comments about DS, I'll pass them on. :teeth: His hair isn't that blond anymore, and he's got that pre-teen tude thing going on(if you know what I mean) :rolleyes2, but yes, the girls are already calling. I'm glad to hear there will be other boys on the cruise. I'm being a horrible mother, taking him out of school and all.

I'm a horrible mother taking my kids out too. I do know that it will be the last time. Jr. High starts in 7th grade for Cameron and I know it would be very difficult for him to catch up. Not the work, but he enjoys his free time a bit too much to dedicate an entire week of after school time to doing make up homework and it wouldn't be worth the battle. I too, unfortunately, know about the pre-teen attitude. :sad2: I only hope it gets better -- in my case, probably just in time for Walker to hit that stage. :rolleyes1

It takes a lot more thought to figure out now what exactly we are going to do with our vacations -- but I think we have things figured out now for spring break and Christmas break next year. :thumbsup2

:cake: princess: princess: Happy Belated Birthday Jessica!!!! princess: princess: :cake:

Well, we've officially done it. We've officially started potty-training Madison. She got up this morning, and we took off the diapers, and put on the panties. I have my Resolve carpet cleaner all ready to go, and the washer is empty. I know that this is going to be a rough weekend, but I'm pretty sure that she's ready.

Wish me luck ('cuz I'm gonna need it).

Good luck, Amy. pixiedust:

Greetings all - live from the Magic. Having a great time already and have met so many wonderful DISers. We have had 4 DIS meets already. JB's for dinner last night, the Radisson last night, Grills for breakfast this morning, and with the new boarding procedures a good size before we boarded.

It sounds like your having a great time, Mary & Mark. :thumbsup2

Well I finally have plants in the ground!! I'm so happy. We got up early this morning and went to the Post office to get passports, then we stopped at the mall on the way home because each year the school as a whole does a Student Art exhibit (that's 7 elementary schools, 3 Jr High's and the High School). Well Nick's art teacher selected some of his work to display at the show. He had 2 pieces in the show which is actually alot when you think about it!

I won't repeat everything I said over in the live thread but I do have one piece of news. Ducky will be sailing with us on the Member Cruise! He came to our 3 pm DIS meet yesterday and I got a chance to ask him. He says as of right now he's on it. YEAH!

Good news. :cheer2:

I just wanted to say thanks for all the birthday wishes for Jessica. She was thrilled.

Nick great job. That is really cool.

Mark and Mary sounds like you are having a blast. I am so glad that Ducky is going to be with us. I think my girls will love to see him.

It has been a very hot few days here. Today it was 94. I refuse to turn on the air yet. I just don't want to pay for it. We have been stuck in the house all winter so this is great. The girls went swimming and the pool was freezing. They had a great time.

Hi everyone!

Dana and I made it home safely yesterday. We drove as far as Clarksville, TN and stopped for the night. Got up early and drove the rest of the way and surprised Ken at church! That was fun.

Mark & Mary....glad you're having so much fun. Nice to hear that Ducky is coming again. I missed him last time.

Cindy...I have a friend that loves to use leeches for bait too.

We're going to go see The DaVinci Code tonight. Too many other things happened while I was gone....there were 10+ pages! So my apologies to anyone who had a special occasion and I didn't acknowledge it. Next time I'll just do like Cindy and make a bunch of posts.....one for each occasion. (Besides, it's a good way to get my post count up!)
