Ilene I hope the procedure will get rid of your pain. In your back that is!:lmao:

I have to say it depends on how much of the actual tooth is left. If Deanna broke about 3/4 the composite will last awhile. They are probably telling you that she will need a full coverage crown when she hits about 18. I hope she does not need a root canal. Sometimes the dentist will put composite on the tooth and just wait and see if a root canal is needed later. Good luck! Not something you wanted to deal with right after surgery I am sure.

Did you overhear the conversation between me and the dentist :thumbsup2 That's exactly what she said!

Deanna's biggest worry is that she can't eat corn on the cob

Hey, thanks everyone for all the kind get well wishes, they sure are appreciated. :figment::figment:Bright spot in the day....two packages! One with my mickey chandelier...and hubby put it up already (he's being really good to me ;)) and one with the disney luggage. For free shipping everything sure came fast. The luggage isn't quite as rugged as I'd have liked but for $35 for 3 pieces I'm sure not complaining and Mickey is just too cute on it, and I love the red color, more people have red these days but it still will stick out a bit. They could have put mickey luggage tags on it but I have my own so no problem. I have a picture of the chandelier but I have to figure out how to attach a picture here, not now but I promise I will.

BTW, thanks for reminding me about waitlisting and also the "springs" section of SSR. I called member services today to waitlist at BCV for Aug and Oct. and to request Springs section of SSR for Aug.

Speaking of sunscreen....I bought the new Coppertone Spray sunscreen and it rocks!! :cool1: You should totally get it for Cameron because 1--he can totally do it himself 2--it's fun to spray on, so more likely to be applied! A friend of mine had the Banana Boat brand side by side to my Coppertone and mine was way easier to spray, was a lot more of a fine mist and required absolutely no rubbing at all, so no junk on your hands.
Thanks Diana, that's good to know. I have to put sunscreen on Ian before camp and I really hate it. It gets all over me, and so often he gets it on his hands too. I just wish there were more combo sunscreen/bug repelents to choose from.

I'm back from my epidural nerve block. They say to expect same or slightly more pain for 36 hrs. Then within 3-5 days it should be much better. The hardest part was the IV they have to put in for sedation. They "missed" the first time and being an ex-medical technologist I don't have a lot of patience for that! The sedation hardly did anything I think, I didn't even feel sleepy or dizzy or anything. Then they put in novacaine in your spine and then they put the steroid in. It stays in your body for 3 weeks and is supposed to reduce inflamation. I hate this as I'm a "earthy crunchy" person that doesn't even do motrin or tylenol unless I'm in really bad pain. I use homeopathics mostly and accupuncture and supplements like fish oil. So this is a
major thing for me. But the pain was bad enough to keep me from work and I have to get back there so I did what seemed necessary. Probably all more than you want or need to know...Main thing..procedure went well and I'm doing OK.

I hope this gives you some relief. I'm sure it will be a long 36 hours waiting for the pain to leave. Continued pixiedust:

I just ordered the luggage today. That chandelier is so cute, I thought about ordering it, but I really don't have a place to put it. John just bought me the Mickey Lamp that was shown with the Entertainment Center and tables. It's really cute.

Julie, so sorry to hear about the loss of your FIL. pixiedust:

Gail, glad to hear your feeling better after surgery. pixiedust: to Deanna and her tooth. I'm sure it'll look good as new when the dentist is finished.

Wow, that's some procedure for the nerve block Ilene. I hope it works for you and that the pain goes away soon. pixiedust:

Ilene...hope the procedure works for you. ::yes:: I understand where you're coming from in it being the last resort. I've been living with shoulder pain for 1.5 years, and DO NOT want surgery! I finally found a chiropractor who seems to be working it out. :)

If I were in your situation, I would use this recovery time to sit back, relax, and catch up on my knitting! :goodvibes

ooohhhh, Mary, I wish I COULD knit. Unfortunately the nerve damage was in my left arm/hand too and I have pain and weakness there. I've been so frustrated having all this time off and being unable to knit (I have about 15 UFO's). I think I may try to sneak a little knitting in tonight..just a few minutes if I can handle it. I have two shawls, two pr of socks, two scarves, a complicated domino backpack and a Calla Lily flower started. I did machine piece and quilt two blocks yesterday for a wall hanging, my arm weakness didn't affect this soooo...

okay need help again...how the heck do you attach a picture if it's not online anywhere?

Thanks everyone for your wishes!

Ilene - continued pixie dust that your treatment works!

Gail - I hope Deanna's tooth pain is gone quickly!

Tell Deanna not to worry. She'll be able to eat corn on the cob again. Shawn had his two front teeth "knocked out" by a hockey puck and now has fake ones. Most people don't even know they are fake and many have made comments about how good his teeth are. He did lose a temporary while tearing open a package with his teeth but once the permanent ones were put on (3 years ago) he was fine. I even think he smiles more now!

Ilene - glad the block is done. Now you'll have a few days to recoup and feel better.

Hi there everyone!

A little comment about the rash gaurds. My dad bought one for my DS Nick last year to wear at C.C. because my son is pretty white and since we were going to be that much closer to the equator he wanted his grandson's skin protected. He bought on for himself too. I'll probably have to get a new one for Nick this year since he has grown.
Hey Cindy want a blue rash gaurd for Walker?

Gail - Glad to hear your feeling better. After I had my galbladder taken out I found my little side affect from eating greasy food is unfortunatly gas. I'll all of a sudden I just start burping (as embarrising as that is) My son on the other hand thinks it's hysterical and makes me laugh so then not only am I burping but now I'm hiccuping to from laughing.
Sorry to hear about Deanna's tooth. Nick was out playing one day a couple of years ago and trip and smacked his face on the pavement. At first we thought he just scraped his face a bit but after I cleaned him all up he looked in the mirror and says "Mommy my tooth looks funny" He chipped a big chunk of the corner off the bottom of his tooth. And of course it's the front tooth. They did fix it but after having a pallete widner in his mouth and his teeth shifting the "fix" popped off so we are waiting till his teeth move a part a little more before getting it fixed again.

Ilene - pixiedust: Here's hoping that nerve block works for you!

Well Nick is now officially finished with school. Now he gets to drive his grandparents nuts for the summer! :lmao:

I love it! It is such a cute chandelier. I hope they continue to come out with more home things like this, they have had some neat stuff out lately.

15 years as a Dental Hygienist. The front teeth always seem to be the ones to get broken. This is why DD has a professionally made mouth guard for karate.;)

Thanks, Stacy. What a sweet offer. :goodvibes I just asked "Mr. Cool Jr" and got a "nope, I don't want one" answer so I suspect he wouldn't wear it.

Thanks anyway!

Good morning everyone! Our weekend has started and we are heading up to Milwaukee soon.

Remember that tonight is cruise chat. We won't be there as we'll be at the race, but I hope those of you who do go into chat have a great time.

Have a good weekend everyone!
