Thanks, Stacy. What a sweet offer. :goodvibes I just asked "Mr. Cool Jr" and got a "nope, I don't want one" answer so I suspect he wouldn't wear it.

Thanks anyway!

We also got a "no" from Nick. And then, despite repeated applications of sunscreen, he burnt his one shoulder on the cruise. Then at WDW we sunscreened heavily over that area, but I still felt TERRIBLE about letting him swim with a shoulder like that. It became a "no choice" thing. He HAD to wear it. He ended up liking it b/c it saved SO much time doing sunscreen.....no back, shoulders, front, sides, upper arms. :)

Here's a picture of him at the Boardwalk pool with it on.....btw, he WON the hula hoop contest here---the CM lifeguard was amazed and said it was only the SECOND time ever that he had ever had a BOY win!! :) 1/2 way through they even made it harder by making them do two hula hoops, but he was going strong at the end! :)

Karen, that is so cool. :cool1: Walker hasn't mastered a hula hoop yet --- not that he doesn't try but he becomes very frustrated trying to hold the thing up!

Maybe I need to remind Walker of what Cameron's friends back looked like when the sunburn was peeling.

I had a talk last night with Cameron about how he has to put the sunscreen on whether he likes it or not. The Scout Master told us that there's probably only going to be a couple times the boys are swimming without shirts on, so mostly it's just the easy access areas that Cameron's needs to worry about. I mentioned how the incidents of teen skin cancers are on the rise and Cameron pieced it together that his friend now was more at risk. So, hopefully he won't come home looking like a lobster.

As much as I'm dreading him being gone, I am also getting excited for him. We helped out last night with the vacation bible school games with the Scout Master and hearing more about what the boys are going to be doing this week, I know that Cameron is looking forward to it. Cameron's already trying to figure out how to tip the other boys canoes when they go on their canoing trip. I hear the water is at most 3' deep in the river so no worries about not being able to stand up.

I will confess, I tried to worm my way into making the trip either up or back. I offered to pull the pack trailer with my van. :( sadly, someone already has offered to drive it up there and return the following week to pull it back. It was a perfect opprotunity for me to help out ;) -- but alas a bit late in the offering department.

How are you feeling, Gail?

Ilene, did the block seem to work for your pain?

pixiedust: all around --- seems like a lot of people could use some right now.

YAY, the block seems to be working already. I SLEPT last night thankfully. I still have a little naggy type pain but it's not the excruciating, distracting kind of pain. I did get a warning from DH not to overdo it just cause I'm feeling better...ya right..he knows me, LOL! So today I have to get some black iron pantry door pulls to match the disney chandelier. Sounds so funny, my house is not a chandelier type house, LOL. We've had this round white ball there since we moved in here in 1988. It's nice to see something else there now and we changed the pantry doors this spring..they still need painting but the prime matches the wall color so it's not imperative and hubby has been so busy remodeling the basement for me (I have a knitting/sewing/spinning/weaving studio and quiet library area with seating now! TOO COOL! BTW, my house is reaaaallly tiny so it's not like these are big areas but they are mine...all mine bwahaha!) that I haven't pushed him on painting the doors. My cabinetry has never had pulls either and I just might by the iron ones for those doors too. So you see my mind can now go somewhere besides the pain...and that's nice. Now to get back to work and to diet too...cruise in 17wks coming up...YIKES!

Please make sure they know the importance of sunscreen. My dd is fair skinned and did get burned badly as a child (MIL said she had put sunscreen on her but evidently missed some spots) My dd recently had to have an area removed and it came back as melanoma. She now has to go to the dermatologist every 3 months to have them look over her body. She has had to have several "moles" removed that looked suspicous. So far everything has come back clear or something that could have progressed into melanoma but hadn't yet. I feel guilty everytime she goes and has to have an area cut out. And of course then we worry until the pathology report comes back. On her first visit she told the dr she was too young for melanoma. He told her you would think so, but he is seeing A LOT of young kids in office. I know most people like to be tanned (me included), but be careful. Ok, off my soap box.

How is the Michigan Medical Ward doing??

Poor John, TWO females at the same time with sick leave :rotfl2:

Oh well Coleen and I both hope the recovery is going well and that you both are feeling chipper soon.

Mary and Mark have fun at the race.

All you campers have fun at Camp.

I will check in this afternoon to say goodbye.

Ilene, thank goodness the block seems to be working and you are feeling better. Now listen to your dr and don't try and catch up on, all you haven't done lately due to the pain, in one day!

Mary and Mark - have a great weekend!

It's supposed to rain in MA all weekend so I won't be doing any outside activities but that's okay. I really need to clean up my bedroom. My clothes seem to be piling up and my office are in my living room has so much paperwork that I can't sit with my legs under it anymore! Time to get organized! I'll try to get into chat tonight. Have a good day!

PS - Don't forget to vote today for BB All Stars!

Glad to hear the block is working Irene, but do try to listen a little bit to your dh about not over doing it.

Mary, Enjoy your weekend! :car:

Gail, hope you and Deanna are both doing better. :teeth:

Ilene, glad to hear you are on the mend! :thumbsup2

I'm having a pool party here today for the kids. Every month we get together to plan the next months calendar and I swear I'm not going to host anything....then I get the calendar in my email and see I'm always hosting at least an event a week. It's like I get possessed or something the words "I'll do it" just come flying out of my mouth and I have no control!! :lmao:

I'm in for it today. :headache: I get freaked out with the inground pool because I watch my kids and my kids know what they are allowed and not allowed to do when it comes to going near the pool. Life vests are always on in the pool area, no exceptions, no running, no leaning into the pool to grab stuff, things like that. Some mothers just don't pay attention to what their kids are doing let their kids do anything and it just makes me a nervous wreck. You would think once they hear me tell my kids "no running" or "life vest in the pool area" they would make their kids abide by the same rules. It's not like I'm being a mean-o, I'm just trying to keep them safe!!

The Michigan Camp is doing pretty good. Deanna's tooth looks great and I'm surprised at how little pain I have. It really just feels like I over exercised and my stomach muscles are pulled. Now I'm only guessing on how that would feel, cause I'm sure I have never over exercised before:rotfl2:

Here's a gross, yet funny story from yesterday. We have a small water garden area in the yard, it's in the fenced off section near the pool. Yesterday I was out there cleaning up for today and in the center of the pond, we have a frog that spits water....he sits on a lilly pad, it's pretty cute. Well, I added water to the pond and then went over and noticed the frog was facing the wrong way, so I leaned in to twist is around and just as my hand got on the frog, I looked down and there was this nasty swollen dead something floating in the water. I jumped about 10 feet in the air and screamed like a little girl. I mean screamed, on the top of my lungs and it echoed thoughout the neighborhood. :rotfl2: The guy next door to me is doing some sort of major contruction project and him and his buddies were all up on the roof and I'm sure they got a good laugh from the spectacle I created. :lmao:

Oh Diana - you are braver than I am! I have yet to host any pool parties with the little ones. We used to do it all the time before the girls were here, but I get SO nervous with other kids around my pool.

So, I'm SO excited this morning. We have a local morning show here in Tampa, and today it's all about the Disney Wonder. They are broadcasting from the ship, and it looks like they were on the 4-night cruise previous to this, as they have video from the cruise. I'm glued to the screen!!!

You think I stuck around to find out? :lmao: So Bruce, the pain in the neck that he is, takes the net for the pool and scoops the sucker out. The whole time Emma wants to know whats going on, so she keeps going near him and I keep yelling for her to stay back. :lmao: So with the "thing" still in the net Bruce starts playing games and tossing it up in the air and catching it with the net. :crazy2: Emma, of course, thinks this is hilarious and I'm just screaming for him to put it in the garbage. Typical Bruce, doesn't listen to me and tosses the dead thing with the net badmitton style into the lot behind us (a good 30 feet away). The visual is enough to put me in therapy for years! :lmao:

It was bigger than the regular mice we have out there usually, about the size of a chipmunk, but it didn't look like a chip to me in the quick glance that I got. :rotfl2: Bruce said it had webbed feet, but luckily, I didn't get close enough to find out. It obviously wasn't a good swimmer though. :lmao:

This reminds me of a story. The first summer we lived here, KT wanted her 5th birthday party to be a pool party. One of Mike's receptionist's teenage brothers was a lifeguard so we "hired" him for the day so I wouldn't have to worry about the pool and could focus on the games and cake and all that.

We had decided to give him $50 for the 3 hours (but we never told him a price and he never asked for a set amount.)

The morning of the pool party Mike and I got cheap. We thought $35 would be enough....after all, $35 for 3 hours is still GREAT pay for a lifeguard. Settled. $35.

The party starts. The first kids get here. The lifeguard is still in his shoes and sweatsuit (over his swim trunks) Two kids get in the pool and Nick decides to get in too and follows them down the steps (quickly) right to the bottom of the pool. Nick, at the time, was 2 1/2 and could NOT swim---and the 3 ft section was still over his head.

He went STRAIGHT for the bottom. I saw it happen but it's like time stood still for me. I was just kicking off the first shoe to go in and get him when the lifeguard, still fully dressed, jumped in and pulled Nick up out of the water.

The lifeguard got a $50 check at the end of the party!!!

Mike just pulled something out of the pool the other day. Looked like it *might* have been a chipmunk in a previous life, but it was so bloated it was hard to tell. Also the fur had come off of it's face b/c of the chlorine so it was NASTY looking. BLECH.
