Welcome back Janet - can't wait to hear about your trip. Were you in the Grand Californian the night of the fire? I hope not!

I owe you an e-mail about your picture. Will do that now.

Yep! We were part of all that Excitement!

Definately one for the Books! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Strange thing is, when we got back to Toronto, we spent NYE at a hotel and we also got the pleasure of having they Fire Alarm go off! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: This time it was a false alarm!

DD does not want to stay at Hotels anymore!

Diana, I would have done the same thing. Sometimes I still poke/jiggle my children when they are sleeping, just to see them move so I know they are okay. I would have slept with her if it was me -- wouldn't that be a sight as I'm pretty sure Julia is still in a crib. :rotfl2:

It must be time for pictures. When my kids were little, everytime I planned to have pictures done, something happened to their faces -- a bump, a scratch, a broken eyebrow. It never failed. I think Walker's 18 month old picture is more like a 20 month old picture just because of all the dings. I eventually gave up and sure enough, he has a nice bruise on his forehead in the picture. At least it's truly a reflection of that day.

Ya know, if she wasn't Julia, I would have had her in the bed with us, because whenever Emma was sick that's what we've done. Julia is just WAY too accident prone (she takes after her mother  ). She's not even allowed to sit on the bed because she's a jumper, and we've already been through that once. I toyed with the idea of sleeping with her in Emma's toddler bed, because big old me has slept in that before too, but I just didn't want to end up in the ER twice in one night. Hello?? Child Welfare??

Amazingly, it's not time for pictures. The last picture experience had Emma scratching her face under her eye so bad, I called and rescheduled, so I know all about getting noticable marks on them before pictures!

The pharmacist told Gary that the total for 21 days of the 1 dose medication was $300. :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: That's like $15 a dose.

Matthew had a nasty stomach virus back when school started. Lots of stomach cramps and nausea. Well I finally got the dr to give me some meds for the nausea and it was $356 for 10 tablets!!! Holy crap!
Atleast we are lucky we have Rx ins so we only had to pay $80 of that but what the heck with $35 a pill!

OK guys, I'm in need of some serious pixie dust here. (and some prayers won't hurt either!) Bruce was getting Julia ready for bed on the changing table when she flipped around and head butted the corner of the table. She got the biggest blackest bruise on her head almost instantanously, it is so raised it gave me chills to touch her head. We've gone through the head injury route before with her, and didn't want to take any chances, so he's on his way to the ER with her. Of course, I'm here with Emma completely helpless and a nervous wreck. The general rule is if they cry for more than 10 minutes to go to the hospital, I think they were in the car within 5 minutes and she was still crying. I'm a nervous wreck.
OMG - I'm a little behind, but I sure hope that she's ok!!!!

Glad to hear Julia is ok, Diana! Those head wounds are the worst!

Cindy - that prescription :earseek: Glad to hear Gary opted for the "mixing his own" method!

I'm SO glad to read that Julia is doing better!! Poor little thing!! Pixie dust that she heals quickly!!!!

That is just amazing!! I certainly hoped it worked for that price!!

Diana...glad to hear Julia is all right. Our internet was down yesterday, so I'm just learning about this today. As soon as I read that she had a bump on her head, I thought she would be fine, because I had heard that whole "if it raises up, no worries" thing before.

And the only thing worse than a child with a banged up head is two children with banged up heads. When my twins were little, they were chasing each other around this "circle" that we have in our house. One of them changed directions and they met between the living and dining rooms and banged into each other! They BOTH had these enormous goose eggs on their foreheads! They looked awful for a little while, but were soon back to normal.

Mary, I bet you really had some looks from people when you took them out. :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

Isn't it amazing that we can chuckle later about our children's injuries but at the time we are at the other end of the spectrum with emotions. There is nothing worse than a hurt or sick child.

You are right, I'm already chuckling about Julia, because she is back to her same old self. Thank goodness she has all that hair because you can't even see the bump.....and boy is it a bump. I keep thinking about that I think its a Bugs Bunny cartoon where there's a tea party and he says one lump or two and hits the guy in the head with the hammer. :rotfl2: :rotfl: That's exactly how fast and how big Julia's bump was last night. Now it's hysterical....last night I was a paranoid freak.

I totally AGREE! We did DL at Christmas 3 years ago and DH said NEVER again! We did Christmas @ WDW last year and I think we might try to go back this coming Christmas. I think the more space, parks, restaurants, etc. make it a totally different experience.

How was the GCH? We check in next week! No conventions and hopefully LOW crowds next week. How was the weather? Any packing tips would be appreciated.

Gee whiz ladies I am only one paramedic :firefight: , I cant watch ALL of you and your families on this cruise :confused3
Anyway we are getting excited about our 7 day cruise in 3 weeks so I am not fully up to speed on this one yet. once we get back I will be more active here.

It's funny, while you were posting your message I was online checking out hotels around Raleigh. We'll be in NC in June for my nieces high school graduation (They live in Clayton) So I'm checking out rates for everything plane/hotel/car. I might have to pick your brain some day and get some recommendations.

I would be glad to help ya with info on the Raleigh Area.. I have lived here for almost 4 years and I am a TV photographer in the area so I know it pretty well.. Just let me know....

Happy Birthday Deena!

I love the GC! It's not DVC but .........

I did request a fridge for our stay and there was no charge for it. Brought my own coffee and filters.

They have laundry facilities on the second floor but you have to access them thru the elevators next to Napa Rose. Wash is $1.00, Dry is $0.50. I brought my own detergent but I think it was $1.00 also.

The weather not as predicted but I found it very damp and bone chilling! My back started hurting again. Dress in layers. When the sun did come out it was lovely! But at night, especially when I got soaked on Splash Mtn, Freezing!LOL

Get to the park early. Grab your fastpasses and most of all ENJOY!

:wizard: That the crowds have dimished by the time that you get there!

Also, make sure you check out HM as this is the last year for the Overlay! Very Impressive! As well as the IASW! WOW! That is if they are still up and running.

Janet - how was the holiday tour? Did you enjoy your seats for the parade? We loved the light/music show they did on IASW at night!

It's good to know you'll be there. Last cruise, we had the added benefit of a DIS pediatrician. This time, it's just you (so far). And, we'll have Curtdennis for crowd control as he's a police officer. :cool1:

Have fun on your upcoming cruise!! :cheer2:
