2006 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC06 - October 22, 2006 Part 2

Ok, I'm no artist, but I was just thinking. What if we could somehow incorporate in the design a little Welcome Home door mat, in front of a gangway, kind of thing, leading up to the ship. I was inspired by seeing all the Welcome Home mats in front of all the doorways at SS.

Well I see there has been important things happening on the thread today.

Ok here are my 2 cents. I'm partial to going with a company to have the t-shirts done for several reasons like laundering, ease of ordering shirts and any extra's I might be interested.

I really like Mary's logo Home at Sea with DVC.

We took the day off of work today and took Nick to see Harry Potter and then we went out for dinner. All in all we had a nice family together time today.

I like this one. Not too crazy about the ship though. Who am I to judge though? I couldn't come up with anything!

I know - just playing around. I actually like the one already up on cafepress from mickeyfan1. Heard from her and the design actually belongs to someone else. She isn't home right now but when she gets back home in a week or so will put me in touch with the other DISer.

I was thinking maybe a combination of the 2 designs. A ship logo with a gangway coming down with a Welcome Home mat at the bottom. But, like I said, I'm no artist!!!

Amy - I should rephrase it to say I'm not an artist either The way I first had it sounds like I am - just not a good one. I'm not an artist at all!

I like the second one Mary has done. I'm not fond of the doormat....it looks rough like a doormat would be.

I like the idea of brainstorming. I'm sure there are many creative people. And, at this point, who knows, maybe the final design will be a combination of several that get posted.

I'm not creative so I can't help with designs. But, I'm willing to vote and comment along the way.

Did we want to adopt the "cruise info" format Mary suggested a several posts back so that anyone coming into the thread at this point won't miss the important cruise information? If so, maybe Cheryl can repost her post with a header "Cruise Info" or something like that.

I just would like everyone to have a say in the t-shirt design and would hate for someone to miss out because they don't read/post very often. I think this really needs to be a group effort designing the tshirts and truly think the more people involved the better. JMHO.

We did not buy the shirts with this design, but we did buy the lanyard pins and they are awesome. I wish I could remember which DISer from the repo cruise came up with the design. Marsha will know she handled all of the pin orders! Really cool!

Ok - one last one for the night. This one is using a photo and kind of the format from the Repo This (type on top, image, type on the bottom). More than 4 colors so I really wonder if it could be done. Just for fun.

BTW - the doormat one really was the one that was for giggles. Just going on Amy's comment. I don't think I'd be very happy wearing a door mat on my back.

What about doing something like the invitation to SSMC06 with the life ring (like the one that Mary posted the link to earlier) above the bow of the ship and have on the life ring the wording?

That would definately give a new meaning to "feeling like a doormat", wouldn't it.

This one reminded me of the beach towel we received on the last cruise. It says "Membership is Magical". What about something like "Membership is WONDERful". Incorporating the two together?

Hello all.... I am new to the boards so I wanted to drop in and say hi. Myself and my fiancee' are DVC owners at Saratoga Springs and we will also be joining you all on the 2006 Member cruise. This we will be our first member cruise, but it will be our 3rd DCL cruise. We went on one in April 2005 and we will be leaving on the Magic on January 14, 2006 for our western cruise. I am soooooo excited about getting to go on DCL twice in one year.... Plus we are planning a WDW wedding for January 14, 2007 so I have to go to WDW for a planning session next year too.. Is it sad that I have used all my vacation time next year to Disney stuff... LOL... People have been making fun of me for it. Anyway I always love to meet new people so I hope that I will get to meet some of you on the ship. I have been around reading for a while, but I so excited to finally take part in the discussions....
