I have a list of the excursions, but it's just in email format, so if you want it, PM me and I can email it to you. Don't panic if you don't get it right away, I will likely wait until I have a bunch of email addresses before I send it out.

Email Sent Thanks Peter

karaeric . . . I sent you a PM with my email address. Thanks so much! Did they say when the excursions would be posted?

I can't wait to see the list!

And what is wrong with the Fools cruise? I think we need to put a disclaimer somewhere on the Fools thread that states that what is on there is not representative of everyone who is going...... like TV stations do before they air an editorial. I know you probably won't believe it, but there are actually some very laid back people on the August repo.

Well, see..........you took everything outta context here. I should have known that we had "lurkers".

Anyway, having just gotten off the 10 day Christmas Cruise with over 1000 kids.......................well, NEED I SAY MORE?

By the way, talked to the cruise director while on our cruise, there are about 550 kids on our 14 day and yes, there are over 1000 coming back!!!!

Linda,
Being a little presumptuous here! What makes you think you would qualify as a Fool? We have very strict acceptance criteria. We don't let just anyone in!(well, except for Mark!)....Forget what I just said- if he can get in, anyone can!!! :jester:

Oh, I am a fool.......................I just finished getting off the 10 day Christmas Cruise and I paid for all 13 of us to go! I could've booked that second PC cruise had I not paid out all that money for the Christmas one!

550? Yikes! I would have thought there would be less than that in May?

Robin

Well good job that most of us like kids so it should it be delightful. :)

She's probably counting all the Fools as kids!

Do you think so? hmmm you may be right. Who cares. Call me a big kid doesn't bother me. I'm there for a good time, not a long time. So are the kids :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Hey Grumbo...looks like we picked the right cruise. They have so few kids on theirs. Think how crowded the adult areas will be for them. I like the idea of an uncrowded Quiet cove and Rainforest! Keep the kid's areas packed!!!

Besides, I hear kids make great chum!

You're right Bob!!!
The Mickey ear will be packed while our pool with the hot tubs will be empty. Half the adults will be looking after the lovely kids.
As for it being hot I figure it will save me the bucks from going the the Vista Spa and using the steam room. Living up here in God's country I could use some warm weather. This is all coming together :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

I looked on the DCL homepage and noticed that they are taking reservations for both repo's again. Still GTY status but people must be cancelling.

We had a cat. 8 cabin and were waitlisted for a cat. 7
We just got notification that we are now cat. 7 gty, so it does look like there are things opening up here and there.

We're OK on the work front - even looking at getting the company to pay for internet access as they don't want DH to be incommunicado for 2 weeks! At least he will be able to check messages when HE wants rather than taking phone calls at any and all hours.

School issues are proving a bit more difficult (maybe why there are not as many kids on the May cruise!)

The older two girls may end up coming back from the cruise to take some of their finals late and then not be able to get their grades for those classes until August. Kind of a pain - but they both say it will be more than worth it!

I'm not too worried about the elementary age kiddos. DS will most likely end up with less than an A in his two accelerated classes, but.... when was the last time anyone checked on your third grade transcripts?

One thing I noticed on the 10 day cruise was that it appeared that the kids, especially the older ones, seemed to get more and more out of control as the cruise went on. Nothing major, it just seemed that there were more kids running around unsupervised and more of the older kids hanging around the stairs. No one was doing anything wrong that I saw - it was just my general impression.

Anyone else on the 10 day notice this?

Ken

I wasn't on the 10-day, but it makes sense about the kids. As they get to know each other and hang out . . . And, they know the ship better and the parents feel more comfortable about them being with other kids. You know, ...

So, now I feel dumb here. How many kids is a lot? I was on DCL for Thanksgiving for 2001 and once again in Oct, 2003. I can't remember how many were in the clubs, but it did seem a lot. Anyone know what the 'average' number of kids are on each sailing? Off season vs. summer or holidays?

Jeff's office is paying for our internet since he can't be gone that long and not be available to fix things, so that's at least taken care of. 550 kids doesn't sound like a bad number. I do like kids, but 1000 on a cruise ship of 3500 is a bit much.

Sandra, I guess your not the only one who is confused? White flag being raised........I love kids. Everyone on both repositioning cruises are going to have the times of their lives, big and small. Peace?

Work a couple of long days and you really miss out here.

Definitely noticed it. I thought it was maybe because we were on Deck 6 for the first time and it's right above the clubs. Seems like a lot of the older ones "sign themselves out" and then hang in the stairwell. My DH did say something to a few of them on several occasions when they were taking wheelchairs and racing down the steps with them! Sometimes I wonder if the parents even know what's going on with their kids if they allow them to sign out whenever. Since we don't have any kids in the clubs I'm not exactly sure how they work but I know I wouldn't want my kid running unsupervised around the ship!!!

Kara... will PM you with my email... can't wait to see the excursion list!!
