So, just imagine that you are a regular person waiting to board this cruise. You see two families in front of you greet each other like long lost friends, with hugs all around. Much excited chatter ensues. Next thing you know, the same thing is happening right behind you. You think, "oh #$*&! I must be on a convention cruise!" You spend the rest of your cruise trying to avoid "that big, noisy group" but they're everywhere! They make more noise at dinner than all the rest of the tables combined, their kids travel in packs (which makes you nervous), and when you try to find a spot for a quiet drink, there they are! At night, in the clubs, they are always the ones involved in the skits, which causes great pandemonium amongst their friends.
There's only one solution for this. When you get home, you'll just write a long, angry post on the DIS boards, asking who you should send your complaint to.

Diana..
your post reminds me of this summer at WDW. There were tour groups everywhere carrying large signs dressed in yellow shirts, blue shirts, ect, ect. You just couldn't avoid them and they walked in packs, ten across so if you got caugt behind them them required great effort just to make it through the sea of yellow. After the second day DD & I made a game out of trying to avoid the "shirts". Quick, quick Julia. The shirts are coming this way, get on space mountain. I guess we're the "shirts" on this trip.
