Really good idea --- so how many DIS'ers will be at the "front" of the line!!!

AFFF -- DH will also be dropping our car at Budget --- you might get the same shuttle back!

We are having a towncar pick us up at BCV at 9:30am, so we should be there around 10:30 right after they open. Count us a a "front".

So, just imagine that you are a regular person waiting to board this cruise. You see two families in front of you greet each other like long lost friends, with hugs all around. Much excited chatter ensues. Next thing you know, the same thing is happening right behind you. You think, "oh #$*&! I must be on a convention cruise!" You spend the rest of your cruise trying to avoid "that big, noisy group" but they're everywhere! They make more noise at dinner than all the rest of the tables combined, their kids travel in packs (which makes you nervous), and when you try to find a spot for a quiet drink, there they are! At night, in the clubs, they are always the ones involved in the skits, which causes great pandemonium amongst their friends.

There's only one solution for this. When you get home, you'll just write a long, angry post on the DIS boards, asking who you should send your complaint to.

This happened to us on the Member Cruise. A group of us all caught the shuttle from the Raddisson together. We had all met the night before. We passed out buttons and one couple passed out laynards. We got in line and kept finding more and more DIS'ers. It was fun!

Then at the sailaway party (which is when we had our DIS meet) I was passing out buttons and someone came up and said "where's mine?" I asked what her DIS name was and she gave me a blank look. I asked if she was with the DIS and she said no she just wanted a button. There were personilzed - did she think I was just sitting there making buttons for people? I told her sorry it was for a special group and she got all huffy and walked away. :D

Vicki - ignore my earlier pm - I got it from a friend :D Tell gaRry to be on the lookout ::yes::

According to disney.com (and the theme park board) the MVMCP for 12/17 is sold out. Just thought you would like to know.

I hope it's not too crowded:crowded: It'll be fun reguardless. I liked it last year because the only wait we had for Buzz was the time it took us to walk from the exit to the entrance. It's getting close!

I dont know if all you have seen my post on the community board about my new travel forums. Its all travel non disney and a great place for just regular talk. Visit it: www.travelmaniaforums.all.at
We are trying to grow the community, 26 members, 219 posts and counting.
1 month till the cruise!
Matt

Lynda, post more, post more! We love your stories! DH and I won't be doing those excursions you mentioned, but I think you should try!

BTW, I keep meaning to post a tip for those of you going to MVMCP before the cruise. Last year we found out the hard way that if you don't show up before the park closes to regular guests, you will be charged for parking. We had our resort i.d. out and ready to go, but we were told that because this was a specialty ticketed event, we had to pay to park! Not sure if it would work to show a paid pass if you have paid earlier in the day.

If you're looking to save on the cost of parking, show up early. Even if you can't get into the park early, you can ride the monorail around to the different resorts and check out the holilday decorations. Or, if you can't get there by the time MK closes at 6pm, then try parking at Epcot and taking the monorail over.

Cheers, Kara

I'm a 60s girl, no surprise there. Started high school in the 60s, finished in the 70s. (Political statement deleted)

Sharon, I guess it's me and you for the later walking group. Hope I can keep up with you!

Hey, we won't be the "shirts", we'll be the T-SHIRTS! Right, Garry?

Coiunt 1 more DH dropping off the car at Budget...Should they start their own thread? :earseek:

Yeah, my DH will probably be dropping off the car at Budget too. We may all go, just to be sure he finds his way back :)

I'll probably start the vacation in the early morning walker group, then switch to the late group once I get on my vacation schedule! Being in an inside stateroom, I won't have the sun to wake me up.

That reminds me --- no sun --- I better find that illuminated clock so I can pack it. DD had it in her room last --- no telling where she stashed it!!!

I did look on Dave's Disney Cruise Tribute Site and it still says Budget has a shuttle. Maybe if the DH's hook up on the shuttle, we won't have to worry about them getting "lost". I lost my DH once in the Atlanta airport once --- long story, but here I was two little ones 3 & 5, our names are being called to board (standby for an earlier flight) and I have no husband or tickets!!!! I thought I was good 'cause I had all the traveler's checks, little did I know that they were no good to me --- they weren't the dual signatures!!!! Anyway, ever since then I try to keep track of him!

PIRATE NIGHT DECK PARTY.............

The Goofy pool gets covered up and turned into a dance floor. There's loud (really loud) music playing, and Minnie, Chip & Dale and Goofy lead the dancing. Hook, Smee and his crew take over the proceedings. One of his crew rappels down the stack onto the stage. Eventually Mickey saves the day. All of the characters are dressed as sailors.

It really was fun. They had a Capt. Jack Sparrow impersonator wandering the dance floor, which was cool. There's food all over the place, too.

If you're dressed as a pirate you'll get a lot of extra attention, so bear that in mind.

Everyone getting their pirate costumes together?

Just so everyone knows, you might want to read this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=683114

I don't think we'll be seeing Jack Sparrow on our cruise.:drinking: :drinking1

No, the real problem will be when Stacy's evil twin Lisa "innocently" asks a CM, "I am able to board first because I am on the conceire (sp?) level. Is it ok for someone who is linked to my room to board with me.?" "Sure". With that, Lisa signals the 13 or so families to follow her on board.
