Well I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the May newsletter is done. :D The bad news is that the ftp client isn't talking to the web page so I can't get it uploaded. :(

DH has a call into our IP and as soon as it is resolved (which may not be until sometime on Monday) I'll upload it.

Sorry guys!

Hi everyone.

Gary, I am glad to hear the surgery went well. I hope for a speedy recovery. Listen to Vicki!!!!!!!!

Mary, I ordered a Dell Lap top(wireless). I leased it through DH business. Great lease. 3 years and at the end $1.00 to buy it.
It will not be delivered until on or about 5/11.
DH computer is still acting up. His friend will be coming mid week to refigure it. It will be so nice to have two <A TITLE="Click for more information about computers" STYLE="text-decoration: none; border-bottom: medium solid green;" HREF="http://search.targetwords.com/u.search?x=5977|1||||computers|AA1VDw">computers</A> in the house. We have a really old one from 1997 which DH friend has been working on for DD.

Diana, I sent you an e mail last night.

Thank you to everyone for all of your well wishes and concern for DD.

DH and his crew worked on the tile floor today. It is almost complete, just the hard cuts on the edges are left. We decided after the last round of spackle and sanding that we will foe finish the walls with a nice glaze. The original granite for the counter top and sink is being refigured to go back where it was. The side that was aganist the old wall is being rounded.
In the rain today the landscapers came to do some work in the backyard. I hope by Memorial Day the children can play back there again. They really miss there backyard. The stone steps are completed leading to the backyard. It will be a while before we do the stone patio and walkway. We will lay concrete for now and than the stones will go on top.

The two week Disney cruise sounds wonderful. We could do the trip back from LA as DD and DS do not start school until the day after Labor Day. The problem is DH work. He is so busy at that time that we will have to pass on it. The dates in May the children are still in school and that also is a busy time for DH. Our children would be so upset if the timing worked out for us and we left them home. I would love to do a 4 day and than Disneyland but that does not look like it is in the cards for DC.

Anyone back from vacation, welcome back.

Time to give the children their bath and showers.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Talk to you all soon as long as the computer lets me. Fondly, Gail

:earsgirl:

Good news - the ftp client is fixed so the newsletter has been uploaded. Hope you all enjoy it. Once again - sorry for the delay!

Cruise to California Update - For weeks now, there have been whispers about when it was actually going to happen. Little whisps of stories would leak. Juicy little tidbits like: "AT&T has already booked 100 rooms for the trip out to Los Angeles" and "Disney's other corporate partners are being offered first shot at the rooms on that cruise."

But -- this time next week -- the cat will finally officially be out of the bag. For -- as part of the Disneyland Resort's big "Twilight Zone Tower of Terror" press event, the Disney Cruise Line will be revealed that it is bringing the Disney Magic out to the Port of Los Angeles for 11 weeks of cruising.

This special event -- which will be directly tied in to "Disney's Golden Celebration" (The Walt Disney Company's worldwide celebration of Disneyland's 50th anniversary) -- will kick off in early May 2005 with a special "repositioning" cruise. During which the Disney Magic will steam out of Port Canaveral, go through the Panama Canal, and then arrive -- with much fanfare 14 days later -- in L.A.

After that, look for the Disney Magic to begin a series of 7-night cruises to the Mexican Riveria during the Summer of 2005. With the proposed ports of call being Cabo San Lucas, Puerta Vallarta and Mazatlan. The cruises will only be offered in late May, June, July and early August. After that, the Disney Magic makes a return trip through the Panama Canal and -- by mid-August -- will once again resume its 7-night Caribbean schedule.

Sounds like a pretty fun time, doesn't it? So when exactly will you be able to book passage on these extra special Disney Cruise Line cruises? Well, as I mentioned earlier in this story, Disney's corporate partners were made aware of the Mouse' plans months ago. Which is why they were given first shot at rooms on the "repositioning" cruise.

But -- as for members of the general public -- you can book passage on these inaugural Disney Cruise Line Southern California cruises just as soon as the Mouse officially announces them. Which should be by the middle of next week. But -- given that there are only a limited number of rooms available on this extremely small number of Summer 2005 cruises -- now might be a good time to put the Disney Cruise Line on your speed dialer. For those reservations are sure to go pretty fast next week.

Speaking on which ... Remember, these are strictly 7-night cruises. Not 3 or 4-night cruises will be offered this time around. Though -- if you'd like to combine a trip to the Disneyland Resort with your voyage to the Mexican Riveria -- the Disney Cruise Line will reportedly have a few packages like that available.

"And what happens beyond this?," you ask. Well, should this inaugural round of Disney Cruise Line Southern California trips go well, don't be too surprised to see the Disney Magic return for a second set of sailings in the Summer of 2006. And -- after that ...

Well, Disney's reps have already been back and forth to the Italian shipyards where the Disney Magic & the Disney Wonder were initially built several times this year. So does this mean that a third Disney boat -- one that would be built specifically for trips around the Pacific -- be in the company's future?

To be honest, a lot of that depends on how well the Disney Magic's Summer 2005 sailings sell next week. How quickly that first 11 weeks of cruises sell out.

David - thanks for the information on the cruises. We were really hoping that they would do shorter cruises with a Disneyland stay. As I said before the repositioning is out of our league both time and $$$ wise. I'm sure the west coast cruises will be a big success and I'm looking forward to the day when a 3rd ship arrives. Would love to do Alaska via DCL!

Paul - thanks for the kind words on the newsletter.

Hi Everyone....I'm baaack!

Thanks, Mary, for taking care of the giant "good mornings"! Yours are prettier than mine!

Gail....sending lots more good wishes & P.D. for your daughter.

GaRry's getting better!!!! :cheer2: That's good news!

I had the most fun! I was so nervous.....and ended up having a ball! I can't believe how the hotel goes all-out for this type of thing. Just the money in flowers could have re-decorated my whole house. There was an ice sculpture of a horse, and he had a blanket of roses.
I came in 27th out of 110. Won $5000 in cash, plus a few other bonuses. They had a ladies' hat parade before the derby...got 3rd place in that. Everyone thought I should have won...it was a cute hat. But it was all so much fun, it didn't matter if I had won anything.
Jay and I are going back in 2 weeks, just for some R & R.... managed to get one of the Penthouse suites.
Two weeks after that is Disneyland........maybe by then we'll have our CA cruise reservations!
Then we're done traveling for a while. I'm pooped. Maybe just a weekend here & there at the cabin.
Anyway...I have to get to bed early...I stayed up way too late! Back to work tomorrow!

MARVELOUS MONDAY MORNING CRUISERS ONE AND ALL!! :daisy: :daisy: :daisy:

Had to add the daisies, the emcee at the tournament (who wore a top hat and tails and looked like the guy on Monopoly) called me Daisy 'cause my hat was black and yellow.

Glad to be back.......

Stacey

P.S. Mary....another great newsletter. Thanks so much....

And, yes....I am EVER so grateful to have my tags back!! Your advice worked!:worship:

Good Morning everyone.

Happy Monday.

Mary, Great newsletter. I love reading them every month.

David, thanks for the information on the DC in Calif. I would love to do one of those 7 nights. We have never been to Disneyland.

Stacey, Congratulations. Good for you. I wish I was that lucky. That is so neat and to get comped for a Penhouse Suite is wonderful. Have a great time when you go in two weeks. I wish I could join you. DH has played several slot and blackjack tournments on the cruise ships. He has only won t shirts.
Our close friends are going to Atlantis this weekend. They were comped two rooms and they got their airfare for them so cheap. They are traveling with another couple. How long is the drive or flight for you???

Raining to today in NY. The rest of the week is suppose to be beautiful.

Have a great day everyone. Fondly, Gail

:daisy: Good Morning Everyone! :daisy:

Welcome back Stacey - I used the daisy in your honor! Sounds like you had a great weekend! Congrats on your prizes. I was happy to see you got your tag back!

It is COLD here in Chicago - below freezing - in May!

Forgot to mention this yesterday, when we came home from church yesterday you'll never guess what we had in our yard - a deer!

Sure we live 3 blocks from a forest preserve, but we are also right outside the city limits! The area we live in has been developed for over 50 years. I hope the poor thing go back to the woods ok.

Well off to read the boards and then get to work.

Have a great day everyone!

gaRry

GaRry Welcome back. Glad to hear you are feeling beeter.

Have a great day everyone. Fondly, Gail::MinnieMo

 Morning!!!!

In a rush here......did you see the Orlando Sentinel article Grumbo posted? Yea!!!!!

Gail, it's a 40 min flight from Phoenix to Las Vegas....part of the reason why it's far too easy to go there a lot!! One woman in the tournament came all the way from Florida. She was complaining about how far it is to Vegas.....I told her I wished I lived in Florida...much closer to my favorite place to be!!!

gaRry....I can't tell you how happy I am for you!! I got a couple of massages this weekend, my back hurt so bad. Nothing else to do unless I take a pain killer (which make me too seepy). So glad you're feeling better!!!!!!! My friends' dad has an old Mustang, but she says there's no way he'd part with it. I'll have to ask him myself.

Mary...we still get a lot of wildlife out here, but when I see them in closer to town, I get worried too. I've read a lot of stories about the deer and other creatures (a lot of them in Colorado) getting into the suburbs and being disoriented. Makes me sad...they were there first.

Heigh Ho.....off I go. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Stacey:daisy:

P.S. Funny "Daisy" story....we order a lot of equipment and supplies from my brother's company...one day I called and left a message for him to call me....the note on his desk said to call "Daisy" at Cave Creek Welding. Guess Stacey sounds like Daisy sometimes! Now whenever I call to place an order (as opposed to just chat) I say "This is Daisy". He even directs our packages to "Daisy" It's become an inside joke.

Quick question for those in the know......I put a request in with DU for a California cruise.....do they contact me when booking is available? How does that work? We booked with DCL before.
Thanks

He's baaaaaccccckk...............Welcome back GaRry. Hope you are feeling better!

Anxiously awaiting the news this week on the Magic. Have talked my parents into going on the repositioning cruise and my brother and sister and working over their spouses today to talk them into it to.

Hopefully, we will have 8 of us going. Hope the ship isn't picked over, if infact Disney has been releasing those rooms to corporations. I would think that if a number of corporations would have bought up rooms, we would have heard more about it here on the boards.

In the meantime, I will just impatiently wait for the news!

Have a great Monday everyone!

Linda

GaRy, you sound good! Glad you're feeling better.

Mary, nice job on the newsletter, as always.

Gail, just e-mailed you.

And Stacey, welcome back! It was quiet around here with you gone. Will you get a penthouse suite in July so we can get a look at it?

Hi everyone.

Diana, I received your e mail.Thanks. I will write later.

Welcome back Stacey. We missed you. If we lived 40 minutes by plane to vegas DH would love it. We are 3 hours driving to Atlantic City. We have only been once in 10 years. We hope to go to vegas someday. I have not been there for 10 years this month. I was at a convention for work and stayed off the strip. I did go to the strip.

FOR ALL OF YOU WHO ARE GOING TO HERSHEY:

The Hershey Gardens Butterfly farm last day that it is opened is Saturday 9/18 from 9-5 or 9-6pm. BUT....... the Hershey Gardens is having their 9th annual Community Garden Festival on Sunday 9/18. It is FREE to get in that day but the butterfly farm will be closed. They will be going over learning about the environment, community hertige, activities, music, displays, and children games all for FREE!!! I just read this on the Hershey web site. I also called to confirm this.

Talk to you all later. Gail

Welcome back Stacey, or should we now call you Daisy?!? :daisy:
A very big congrats to you on your win. My mom came in 27th in a tournament she was in out there too, but only won $50.00. She was thrilled with that.

gaRry, so glad you are feeling a lot better. Are you and the kids going to WDW in August? We will be there 8/6-8/13 and DD & I may go 6/11-6/18.
I must have my friend look for your shirt again. He was out of town last week in Indy for the big FD conference.

Waiting very impatiently for the new computer to be delivered today :cheer2: :happy2: :jumping4: :jumping3: :jumping2: :Pinkbounc .

Happy Monday. I kind of messed up my laptop trying to get online last week, so it took some IT help to get me back up. But anyway, here I am.

Haven't read the newsletter yet. Mary, the email I sent is lost in the trons of space, so I"ll have to write it up again.

GaRry! Glad you're feeling better. Now take it easy and listen to Vicki! She'll only have to take care of you if you overdo it!

No CA cruises here! DH is still whining about the cost of this one. No way we could do a repositioning cruise!

Gail, I hope your daughter is doing better now. She's in my prayers.

Stacey, congrats on the tournament. Very nice!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi everyone - thought i would pop in at lunch. So nice to see everyone posting again!

gaRry- you sound great. Glad to hear the surgery worked for the pain. You still need to listen to Vicki! ::yes::

Stacey - I'm pretty sure that if you have contacted Dreams they will try and get you a room as soon as booking opens. i think they have had a lot of requests so they will be really really busy!

Lisa - sorry the e-mail got lost. I've left next month pretty open so feel free to drop me a line for it. Send it whenever your ready and I'll put it in whatever the next issue is. No pressure at all!
