Hello there,

We are headed to Disney after an 8 year absence. I've tried to find a clear answer to our resort/fast pass booking but haven't got gotten it nailed yet. I'm trying to decide if we should link one of our resort reservations in MDE or not.

Background: We are driving into Disney on a Friday night and staying for two nights at Port Orleans. We will not be park touring during these two days. We are visiting LEGOLAND on Saturday and then headed to Captiva Island on Sunday. We are returning to Disney/Wilderness Lodge six days later for a week of park touring and general mayhem. We have 8 day admission tickets.

My dilemma: Do I link our Port Orleans stay (the short one) to our tickets so I can start booking FP for our week of park touring? I'm assuming that the 14 day window of use on the tickets means I don't need to book FP for 8 consecutive days starting the first day of stay. But... then I've noticed something about only being able to book FP for 10 days out from your first night? Confusion reigns in my brain... Mostly I want to be sure I don't mess up our FP for our week of touring by linking the tickets to the first stay if I can only book for 10 days out. But if it would be an advantage...Our window opens in a few days if I choose to use the Port Orleans stay to link the tickets.

Hope that makes sense. Any insight from FP veterans? Glad to be cruising the boards again after 8 years - forgot how dangerous this is as it consumes all my spare time! And at Christmas no less!

Hi! I'm going to take a stab at this, and I'm sure someone will come along and correct me if I'm wrong! I believe that you can only book FP+ for the length of your tickets, so if you have 8 days worth, that's all you can book. So, if you link it to the first stay, you wouldn't be able to book FP+ for that second stay. Does that make sense? You'd run out too soon. I think your best bet would be to link the tickets to your second stay. Then you will definitely have enough FP for the whole stay. Hope this helps, and have a great trip!! :goodvibes

IIRC you don't link your tickets to a particular reservation - rather, your tickets are linked to your account in MDE, and both of your reservations are linked to your account in MDE. (Unless you've made the two reservations under two different accounts in MDE.)

I think that you should be able to make FP ressies for 10 days out from your first night 60 days before the first day of each reservation. So you can make FP selections for most of your trip (depending on how long you are staying) 60 days before your first check-in, and then for the rest of your trip 60 days before your second check-in.

Thank you both for your help...that's what I was wondering about. I haven't even linked my short reservation in MDE because I wasn't sure if it would mess up FP's for our actual park touring times. That makes sense that I could get the usual 10 days from the first check in and then could book the other FP once I hit the 60 day mark for the second reservation.

I sort of wanted to get FP a bit earlier as my 60 day window for the second reservation starts right at Christmas and my lists are already a mile long!

Thank you again!
